"Good Work Riko. Well done again. You seem to understand how to use the technique... I'm sure it will be of great use to you as it has been to me." Just as the lesson had been completed, Shinji had noticed that Kaze had suddenly begun to move and had completed the technique which he had been tasked to learn. By the time he and Riko were ready to move on, Kaze had joined them, making it the perfect opportunity to teach then both at the same time again.

"Ah good, Kaze has returned to us. Well then, I guess we should move on... shall we. If anyone is getting tired, let me know, but I'm sure no one is near running out of chakra anytime soon... not amongst the three of us at least." Just as he said the words Shinji suddenly winced in pain his face cringing as a surge of chakra flared up near his spine, effectively paralyzing him for a second as the pain radiated throughout his body. The pain intensified quickly, a distinct burning sensation ripping through the area as if his skin were on fire before spreading throughout his body. The pain must have been what it would feel like to have a sword ripped through your arms and legs as if you were being cut in two, causing Shinji to stumble and bend over slightly, only just barely catching himself from falling.

Then, just as quickly as it had come, the pain subsided, Shinji finally breathing normally again, although through exasperated breaths as if he had just been through something very physically taxing. the sweat on his brow would seem to indicate it as well, but on the outside nothing would have appeared to have occurred. Shinji still felt it though, his body tingling with pins and needles as if the image of the pain he imagined had actually occurred, his arms and legs tingling down their midsections as if recovering from a wound. Finally regaining himself however, Shinji stood back to full height before taking a deep breath and simply went on with the lesson, though you could tell the episode had troubled him slightly... he had only recently been feeling pain that intense that suddenly.

"Excuse my pause there... on to the next lesson... the Kajuu no Doro (Mud weights) technique. Kaze, I believe you already learned the Doro no Gou technique which Riko just learned... well this technique is rather similar. However, this takes the chakra you would use to spread the creation of mud and instead creates several smaller spheres of mud, then condensing them to serve as heavy weights. The technique is incredibly effective if one can trap their opponent with it and with the weighted spheres it creates, trapping even just one limb can immobilize an opponent. You create the mud just as before, but using your chakra to condense the mud and add the weight is the key."

Then turning to Riko, he continued on, reinforcing the question she had earlier... "...and unlike the mud moat, the earth only remains as the sticky, weighted mud for a short while, after which it hardens but still maintains it's weight. Now then, let's get to it. However, keep in mind, these types of jutsu are somewhat of a specialty for me, so don't be discouraged if your jutsu don't look precisely like mine." With that final comment, Shinji ran through the hand seals slowly for both of the students again... these seals being slightly more complicated then previous ones. Then when he was finished, he looked around for a good place to test the jutsu and seeing a large boulder nearby, moved about 50 feet away from it and waved his students over.

Performing the necessary hand seals in rapid succession, Shinji dropped down and slammed his hands to ground quickly, his palsm merging into the ground quickly as the earth in the area visibly changed and softened. Then a foot in front of him the earth seemed to bubble for a few second before 6 spheres of mud shot out of the ground at incredible speed, each sphere about the size of a basketball as they shot forward, colliding into the boulder and splattering into several large sticky masses which stayed perfectly in place where they struck. Kaze and Riko would notice that the impact damage to the target was very minimal, but rest assured, the weight added onto the boulder was immense, and if it had been a human he had trapped within the mud spheres, they would be utterly motionless and trapped. After a while, the sticky mud then hardened, creating several large stony bumps on the boulder. "There, now you two take a crack at it. Don't worry if the spheres aren't as large or as numerous as mine, just focus on creating the jutsu as I taught you."

In response to her sensei's praise, Riko smiled warmly, glad to live up to his expectations. Nodding her head in agreement, Riko also hoped that her minimal knowledge in ninjutsu will be enough to get her through the exams. 'Though I would like to come up as close to the top as possible just passing will be more than enough for me.' Turning her head to face Kaze as he rejoined their group, Riko flashed him a small smile in greeting before returning her focus to her instructor. Chuckling at his comment about their large amount of chakra, Riko immediately stopped and frowned when she noticed Shinji cringing in pain. Raising her left fist to the tips of her lips, Riko chewed on her lower lip in a nervous manner as she worried over her fellow Konaga's condition. 'It sucks...I'm here but I can't do anything about it...'

When Shinji finally regained his footing and stood up to his full height, Riko could still see the sweat on his brow and could only continue to frown when he brushed off his pain and went straight onto the next lesson. 'Is that how he fights through the pain...to just continue on as if its not affecting him...I know that to lose to the pain's not an option but to not even allow himself ample time to rest...' Having already missed the first part of the instructions due to her worry, Riko pushed it aside for the moment and did her best to absorb in as much information as possible. 'Alright, so it involves mud again that much I gathered...and we're suppose to create weights...?' Having missed most of the description, Riko now had to pay complete attention to the demonstartion if she hoped to create anything close to the requested technique. Easily memorizing the hand seals, Riko noted that they were slightly more complex than the ones of techniques taught previously. Gathering that as techniques increase in rank, the diffculty of seals will as well, Riko took a moment to relax herself. 'It's only logical and if I hope to ever complete those seals I need to remember to keep myself calm. Shinji-san's an experienced Konaga, he knows how much pain he can handle. As such, I should bring myself to focus on my training...' Still half-convinced, Riko brushed aside her thoughts as she walked over to where Shinji was located 50ft from a large boulder.

Watching the demonstation attentively, Riko was finally able to gather the missing pieces from her earlier assessment and nodding her head in understanding, Riko readied herself to start. Crouching downward, Riko stared at the boulder for a moment before bringing her gaze downwards. Raising both hands to chest level, Riko began going over the tricky handseals required for the technique. The first few times Riko ran through them, she tended to mess up near the middle so focusing her attention on those few seals, Riko eventually got comfortable with doing them. Smiling, Riko ran through the series of hand seals once more and was pleased that she got them all correct this time through. Practicing just a few more times for safety reasons, Riko finally felt confident enough to perform the jutsu after her 10th time running through the seals without chakra. Kajuu No Doro [1/2]

Letting her chakra run loose, Riko whinced as a unexpected wave of pain ran over her. The pain that surge through her body was like a blazing flame. Slowly eating away at her flesh and bones. Squeezing her eyes shut, Riko clenched her hands into fists and did her best to fight past the pain. Riko did her best to keep herself calm and gritting her teeth in pain, Riko finally felt it subside after several moments. Breathing heavily, Riko quickly forced herself to do some pulse-lip breathing in an attempt to calm herself down. Once her breathing settled and the pain was barable again, Riko moved on to performing her jutsu somewhat depressed. The wave of pain had caused Riko's enthusiam to fade but hopefully with the success, Riko will be able to move pass the pain.

Still in her crouched down position, Riko let loose a bit of chakra as she easily formed each and every seal needed for the jutsu correctly. Chakra concentrated in her hands, Riko gently placed both hands on the ground and using her chakra to soften the earth, felt her hands slowly sink into the now soften earth. Feeling one with the earth again, Riko spread her chakra outward as she infused it with the surrounding earth. Softening the earth around her to a mud like state, Riko then moved on to forming spheres of mud. Concentrating her chakra in the mud, Riko imagined a sphere in her mind and using her chakra, manipulted some of the mud to gather into a ball. Doing the same thing three more times, Riko could eventually sense her chakra wrapped around four individual small spheres of mud. 'Alright, now to launch them...' Focusing more chakra, Riko caused the four mud spheres to push through the earth and shoot outward towards the large boulder. Riko's spheres of earth were much smaller compared to Shinji's. While his were the size of basketballs, Riko's were the size of 12" baseballs. As the mud weights smashed into the boulder, Riko saw nothing but splattered mud but after a few seconds Riko saw them harden created more irregular bumps throughout the boulder. Kajuu No Doro [2/2]

'Success.' Releasing a tired sigh, Riko fell backwards and just remained lying on the dirt ground for a few moments. The remaints of the earlier wave of pain had yet to truly compeletly subside. 'Hopefully, I don't draw too much attention this way...'

Kajuu No Doro (Mud Weights)
Rank: D
Description: After performing the necessary hand seals and slamming their hands into the ground, four spheres of mud shoot out of the earth toward your opponent at an accelerated speed (typically targeting their limbs in). In this form, the mud spheres stick to whatever they strike, and through the chakra embedded in the mud through the technique is made incredibly heavy. This effect lasts for 1 post, after which the mud dries/hardens... though the user is still stuck inside the heavy/hardened and dried mud. Each mud sphere individually weighs about 250 lbs, making it nearly impossible to move any limb or portion of the body the mud weights stick to, slowing the opponent down significantly. (The weight of each sphere increases to 500 lbs [a quarter ton] at Chuunin and 1,000 lbs [a half a ton] at Jounin).

Watching Emily as she left to her home Death Spank thought about the first time her went threw that, the first time he went threw the training for this style then said " If she is really going to be able to use that style she will have to go threw so much more than that."

Standing and stretching as he let out a long yawn Death Spank looked toward the direction of the restaurant and is mouth began to water. Pulling one of his legs up and rearing his torso backward Death Spank took a deep breath, then let out a loud echoing yell "BAAAAAAAAAAAAACOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!" and suddenly he was gone only the sound of his voice and a large trail of kicked up dirt and dust showed were he had gone.

Watching Riko carefully as she performed the technique, he could easily recognize the wave of pain which he so often felt himself, but shrugged it off more easily then most would. Growing up the way he did, the pain was just a part of life and he had gotten used to it. It wasn't that he was unsympathetic towards another Konaga's pain, but what else was there to do? Words of concern weren't going to take the pain away, and really, there was nothing he could do to stop it. The best he could do was encourage someone to push through the pain the best they could and mentor them to survive through it and come out the other end stronger.

Noticing however that Riko was closing her eyes when feeling the surges of pain, Shinji would be quick to step in and correct her, just as he had been corrected by his former sensei. After noting her completed technique, Shinji nodded approvingly at it... "Good work Riko, you seem to have learned the technique properly. However, I will note that you did something which could potentially be very dangerous. Now, I understand more then anyone else could what you are feeling... but when you are out in the world, in potential combat situations, closing your eyes due to our bloodline pain could very well be the end of everything for you. You must fight the urge and keep your eyes open, bearing the pain while still keeping some semblance of awareness around you. I know it's difficult and it won't be able to get used to, but it is essential that you remain aware of your surroundings at all times."

"Remember, the practices you develop at home are the ones you will implement in the field... so training yourself to do this now will allow you to be successful later."
After this, Shinji took some time to check in on Kaze, but seeing that he was taking his sweet time training the technique as he normally did, Shinji figured he would go on and teach Riko a few more techniques on the side, since she was being attentive and was eager to learn. Patting her on the shoulder to show that he was not disappointed with her at all despite her closing her eyes to the pain, Shinji continued on with a few handy jutsu he thought might serve Riko well.

"This next jutsu we'll learn together. In fact, I planned on learning it myself just prior to the exams, but unfortunately, even though I managed to find the scroll, I never found the time to train the technique. It's called the 'Chakra Hikari no Jutsu' and it's relatively simply. Essentially, all you're doing is condensing your chakra in a ball of light in your hand which will follow you around, creating a light source for you in dark places. It can be used to guide you through caves, or maybe even to indicate to others where you are if the terrain is foggy, or it is very dark out. Either way, it's a very useful technique to learn. The hand seals allow the chakra to form a new construct in your hand, and then after that, the Chakra Ball does the rest of the work, following you around and lighting the way until the chakra embedded in the technique runs out and the ball disappears."
[Learning: Chakra Hikari no Jutsu (Chakra Light Technique) 1/2]

Not bothering tot take out the scroll as he had already previously memorized the hand seals required, he moved through them once so that Riko could clearly see them, and then reproduced the seals more quickly the next time through, signing them perfectly before holding out his hand in front of him, his palm facing upwards. "Chakra Hikari no Jutsu", as he spoke the words, a small spark of light seemed to come out of his hand, levitating in his palm for a few seconds as Shinji fed the ball with more chakra. Over a few seconds, the small spark of light intensified and grew until it was a shining sphere of light about five inches in diameter, when it suddenly leaped off his hand, moving just over his right shoulder, and hovered there.
[Learning: Chakra Hikari no Jutsu (Chakra Light Technique) 2/2]

Moving around, Shinji was delighted to see the light follow him, and then, waving his hand around a bit, he reached out to the ball of light and made it swirl all around him. "It's relatively simple to control... it's like giving a command to a clone, you just sort of reach out to it with your chakra and it understands what you want it to do. Obviously, it has no combat ability, but it's still incredibly useful. Just be careful not to overextend it." Shinji then pushed the ball of light more then five feet away from him at which point it fizzled out and disappeared. "If you move it too far away, it loses it's ambient connection to your chakra and loses it's cohesion. Go ahead now, you try it."

Resting somewhat peacefully on the dirt ground, Riko grinted her teeth as the pain spiked up a bit through her arms. Pushing pass it, Riko didn't really get much of a chance to contemplate on it as Shinji walked over and spoke in his 'teacher voice' Sitting up, Riko turned to him and hearing him lecture her about the potencial dangers of closing her eyes mid-battle found herself going silent. She knew he was saying this for her own good but Riko was never one for lectures. When it was apparent that he was done, Riko nodded her head in understanding and spoke in a soft voice. "I'll do my best to remember next time Shinji-san..." Still frowning a bit when Shinji went to check out on Kaze, Riko knew she was acting immature but she couldn't help it. Even when she was a kid, she would hate it when her father sat her down to lecture her about something or another. '*sigh* I best get out of this habit, Shinji-san's only looking out for me. I shouldn't act like spoiled child...'

Head snapping upward when she heard Shinji speak of another technique, Riko's face lit up again in excitement. 'Oo...a light technique...so cool!' The lecture now behind her, Riko focused all her attention instead on the teachnique being taught to her. Listening carefully, Riko took note of what the jutsu could be used for and even thought of another way to use it as well. 'If it could be used to signal allies in foggy areas, can't we use it to trick the enemy as well?' Taking in the dynamics of it, Riko's mind easily wrapped around the information and taking a moment to ponder on it, found that it didn't actually seem all that difficult. Smiling even wider when she saw Shinji produce the ball of light, Riko's eyes gleamed in amusment when she saw that the light was actually following him. 'Such an amusing technique!'

Keeping in mind the limits of the jutsu, Riko nodded her head in understanding before starting. Alright, first things first, handseals. Running through them a few times, Riko was glad to see that she was having a much easier time with these compared to the last jutsu she performed. 'That one definiately contains some tricky arrangements...' Confident that she got the handseals down, Riko somewhat unwillingly allowed her chakra to roam free. 'It's been awhile since I trained this long straight. No wonder almost everytime I let it loose, I feel a wave of pain wash over me...but I can't complain. I need this and I should consider this a type of endurance training...' Concentrating her chakra to her hands, Riko easily breezed through the handseals and holding onto the last seal a bit longer than neccessary, Riko waited till her chakra stablized. Sure that she had her raging chakra under control, Riko slowly broke away from the handseals and cupped her hands together. Allowing the chakra to flow into her hands, Riko concentrated on the area between her hands. Chakra Hikari no Jutsu [1/2]

Keeping her eyes fully open this time, Riko continued to stare into her cup hands as she concentrated on creating a hovering sphere of chakra. Slowly but surely, chakra began gathering into her cup hands and rising up to form a small sphere. Now that she got her sphere, Riko knew that the next step was lighting it up. Something she considered as the most difficult part of learning the 'Chakra Hikari no Jutsu'. 'I'm used to molding my chakra into shapes by now so the sphere is no problem, but how to light it?' Tenitively infusing more of her chakra into the orb, Riko sought to have her chakra release its energy which in turn should cause the ball to illuminate. Taking deep breaths, Riko concentrated her hardest on lighting up her chakra and it would prove to be worth the effort as the ball soon flickered a bit before lighting up completely. Grinning now, Riko made sure to keep her chakra link to the sphere as she willed it to raise up from the palm of her hands. Somewhat fidgity as the ball rose up with chakra alone, Riko raised her right hand and began directed the sphere of light in figure eights and other strange shapes. 'Awesome...' At the moment, Riko would appear as a little kid recieving thier first toy, ever. She was completely taken in by the impressivness of the light technique. Chakra Hikari no Jutsu [1/2]

The light cast by the chakra ball illuminates an area up to 30 feet in all directions around you. Once created, the light will automatically follow you wherever you go and can be moved around you to illuminate different areas. However, the light cannot be moved more then 5 feet away from the user, or it will disappear. The light lasts for 5 posts at which point the chakra condensed into the ball of light fades out.

Again, with Riko quikcly mastering the technique, Shinji had nothing left to do but praise her for her quick learning. "Good. Very well done Riko, you're catching on quickly to all of this. Let's jsut hope it all serves you well in the exams. Now then, what shall we train next." Scratching his head, Shinji looked pensive for a few moments as he looked down at the ground. As he thought, a wave of pain came over him sending a shiver through his spine which grew more and more intense, as if someone were continually stabbing him with a knife there. The agony gripped him for several seconds, and his face grimaced at the immense pain it caused him, but luckily, with his eyes already down, it would appear that he was merely in deep thought. After a few moments, when the pain was no longer so debilitating, Shinji looked up again, scratching his head once more...

"Well, I guess since Kaze is still working on that technique, we can go on to a few other ninjutsu which are basics, but still very helpful in a tight spot. You'll never know when you'll use these two ninjutsu, but you'll always be thankful you learned them when the time comes." Looking around the training field, Shinji sighed as he wasn't quite sure how he would create the demonstration, but smiled when he found a small storage shed near the outskirts of the training field and signaled for Riko to follow him as he grabbed a scroll, reading it on the way as he sprinted across the field towards the shed. Moving at a speed she would be able to keep up with, they both arrived at the shed where Shinji finished reading the scroll, then smiled at Riko before continuing on.

"Here we go, this should do the trick. Let's say you needed to gain access to this shed, but simply destroying it is out of the question. Many covert operations demand that you access places which are locked, or even in some mundane situations, this skill proves itself useful." Jiggling the lock which sealed the shed closed, protecting the equipment inside from being tampered with by just anyone, Shinji took some time to show that the lock was sufficiently sturdy and was doing it's job. But then, after performing a few simple hand seals, he gripped the lock, placing his palm against the keyhole. "Anrokku no Jutsu" After a few seconds a distinctive click was heard and Shinji smiled, taking his other hand, he then opened the door effortlessly, revealing the contents of the shed.
[Jutsu Training: Anrokku no Jutsu 1/1]

"It's very simple really and it should come naturally to a Konaga. Essentially you reach out with your chakra and flood the keyhole with it, materializing it to be semi-solid and then have it push out. This allows the chakra to fill the necessary gaps in the locking mechanism and push them open, disabling the lock. It shows no signs of tampering and it re-locks itself after you re-seal or close it." Following his instruction, he closed the door upon which another 'click' was heard and he pulled on the door, showing it to be locked again. "There, now you try."

Playfully moving the light left and right above her, Riko found herself forgetting all the bad stuff and returning to her usually happy, energetic self. Shinji's voice broke Riko from her happy bubble and turning her head to face him, Riko sadly discontinued her jutsu, allowing the light to shimmer out above her is soft green charka. Watching Shinji, it would seem as if he was deep in throught but for a moment, Riko was almost certain she saw him shiver in pain. But since Shinji had kept his head down, it was rather difficult for Riko to prove her assessment for when he looked up again, he was his usual cheery self. 'A trick of the mind?'

Nodding her head in silent agreement to Shinji's next comment, Riko pushed herself up from the ground as she grew curious as to what the next technique might be. 'We already learned how to light up chakra, walk up trees and walls...hm...I wonder what other interesting techniques I'll get to learn today?' When signaled, Riko began trailing behind Shinji who was reading a scroll the entire way to their destination. Surprisingly though, Shinji did trip or fall over anything as he read and managed to safely lead himself to a small storage shed. 'The storage shed? What do we need that for?' Her question was soon answered as Shinji began to explain the reason behind the technique and how it works.

Riko carefully observed how Shinji went about the technique and taking note of how the jutsu can be used to reseal the lock as well, Riko could see how this would be the perfect technique for any spying or retrieval mission. 'It will definately prove to be useful later on...its amazing how much many daily uses can be found within the Universal techniques.' Nodding her head when told it to try, Riko took in a inhaled and exhaled a deep breath before raising her right hand over the lock.

Letting loose her chakra, Riko concentrated it to her hand and sent it out towards the lock, enveloping it in her chakra. Peering down at her hand, Riko did her best to direct her chakra into the lock. Her control wavered a bit as another wave of pain shot through her arm. This time it was like someone wrapped something tightly around her arm and procceeded to tighten it even more. Cringing, Riko was tempted to pull her arm back but remembering the words of the instructor and mentor next to her, Riko fought through it and continued to send her chakra into the lock. "Anroku no Jutsu." Uttered Riko weakly from under her breath. Unsure of how much longer she could last through the pain, Riko hurried on with it. Envision ingthe inside of the lock, Riko used her chakra to fill in the empty slots, pushed out with her chakra, thus causing the locks to force open. Releasing a sigh, Riko pulled back her hand and rested it to her side. Anrokku no Jutsu [1/1]

Reaching over with her left, Riko clutched the lower part of her arm and began rubbing it. The pain was still resonating throughout her arm but it was better than before. Staring at the lock,Riko saw that it was unlocked and from the looks of it, untempered with. Smiling weakly, Riko turned to face her teacher, "Was that alright Shinji-san?"

»HAfter Shinji explained the jutsu to Riko and Kaze, he proceeded to the practical. He performed the seals for the jutsu, allowing Riko and Kaze to see it. Then, he continued by walking over to a Shinji, he was about to demonstrate the jutsu.

Moments after completing the jutsu, basketball sized projectiles shot out of the ground, and clung to the targeted boulder. But, Kaze couldn't help but notice what happened earlier. Right before getting into the theory of the jutsu, Shinji had a long pause. Maybe he was fending off that pain he had from his clan? Who knows.

Riko then tried the jutsu first, and seem to practice the seals multiple times. Kaze couldn't blame her for being cautious.
After Riko successfully completed her jutsu, Kaze tried his hand at it.

Kneeling on one knee, Kaze proceeded with the correct hand seals, and slamming his hands to the ground. He channeled his chakra to the ground, and began to focus. "Kajuu no Doro", he whispered. It seemed as if he performed the jutsu correctly.. He still had his hands to the ground, and looked up at a the boulder. Four projectiles suddenly shot out of the ground like a school of fish, and attacked the boulder, doubling the weight as they hardened onto it.

Standing up to his full height, Kaze looked over to Shinji's location. Though, he looked pretty busy with Riko.

"Very Good Riko, now onto the next one." Taking out a key from one of his pockets, Shinji smirked, holding it up for a second before unlocking the door and opening the storage shed. Taking a few steps inside, he found what he was looking for and emerged with a few strands of rope, about half an inch in thickness. then, opening up the scroll he was reading earlier, he seemed to skim a few paragraphs quickly, reading over the guiding principles of the next technique, memorizing the hand seals and what not before finally closing the scroll and continuing on with the lesson.

"Alright Riko, this one is pretty interesting as well, so pay attention, it could very well save your life one day."Taking one of the pieces of rope, Shinji tied the rope so that it was double-knotted and pulled on it to show it's strength. "Now then, let's say that for some reason you were captured and tied up, well this next jutsu would enable you to escape your bindings and free your hands. The concept is simple really. Using a simple seal, you're able to embed your chakra into the rope and then manipulate it so that it moves the rope in the proper direction, which can loosen, or untie the knot altogether. It's simple enough, but I've never done it myself, so I'll see if I can demonstrate it for you first..."

Turning around, Shinji placed his hands behind his back, mimicking a situation where he would be tied up, balancing the rope on his wrists. Then, forming a single seal, Shinji focused his chakra to the area and lightly touched the rope as a blood red hue of of energy flowed from his hand into the rope. Carefully controlling the flow of his chakra, he was then able to direct the movement of the rope, pushing one side of the rope slowly through the loop he had formed, loosening the knot and eventually untying the first part of the knot he had made.
[Jutsu Training: Nawanuke No Jutsu 1/1]

Turning around to face Riko, he then smiled, holding up the untied knot in a victorious pose, "There we go, simple as can be. Why don't you give it a try now... see if you can untie the remaining knot, or if you'd rather, I can physically bind your hands behind you so you can experience it as if it happened and train more effectively."

{{Lilly: Feel free to auto-move Shinji to tie your hands behind your back with the rope if you'd like in your post.}}

When Shinji congradulated her and mentioned moving on, Riko looked up to see him produce a key from his pockets. 'That's...interesting...' Unable to come up with better words to describe the situation, Riko settled for interesting and waited paitently outside while Shinji searched for something. When he came out with a few strands of rope, Riko eyed him quizziedly but said nothing. Once Shinji began to explain the next technique then did it all make sense in Riko's mind. Smiling at how simple the technique looked as well as how useful it would be, she couldn't wait to try.

At his offer, Riko nodded and turned so that her back was facing Shinji. Stretching back a bit, Riko pressed both hands together behind her back so that Shinji may tie her up. Once tied, Riko couldn't help but glance backwards in an attempt to see her bondage. 'A double...no...a triple knot?! Shinji-san really went all out for it...now lets see...' Subtly letting loose her chakra, Riko focused it to her hands and forming a simple seal, sent her chakra surging into the ropes. Now that her chakra was in the ropes, all that's left is to manipulate it loose. Staring at nothing in particular, Riko focused on using her chakra to push the rope towards a loose direction. Controlling her chakra every which way, Riko eventually found a weak point and pushing more chakra into the technique forced the rope to got through the knot. 'One down, two more to go...' Utilizing the same technique, Riko eventually caused the rope to loosen to the point where the rope fell to the ground on its own accord.Beaming a bright smile in success, Riko happily turned around to face her teacher and cheerily, inquired about the next technique. "Very good, perfect execution as always, you are as usual, a very fast learner for someone of your rank. I'm sure you'll have no trouble making it through the exams to become a Chuunin in your own right." Running out of ideas on what to teach Riko, Shinji looked around the field, seeing nothing but a few random battles progressing and Kaze still standing where they were previously, perfecting his technique. Looking up, the sun was starting to begin to move towards the horizon... and although they still had plenty of light, evening was coming soon.

"Alright Riko, I don't know what you want me to train you in next, but I leave it up to you. if you need, we can inspect the ninjutsu scrolls and you can see if there is anything I haven't taught you that you think might be useful, but I can't think of anything myself. there is always Taijutsu if you are interested, but I only know the Ishi no Karada style, and I'm not too sure I could teach anything else." Turning downward in thought, Shinji began to rub his chin and think about what he could teach Riko next when suddenly it struck him that he had not really taught her all the aspects of their Bloodline augmentations yet. His body sent an instant wave of pain through his back and down through his legs in protest to the thought, causing him to visibly wince and grit his teeth at the sudden sharper pain, but he pushed it aside and decided it would be best for Riko to here it.

"Of course, there is always more augmentation training... yes, I believe we should do that first. Now, keep in mind, you can do all of this already... it's just a matter of knowing it and unlocking the ability within yourself. this time, we'll focus on the legs. Now of course, we could augment them much as we did with our arm earlier to deliver a devastating augmented kick, but that is not the limit of our capabilities. We are also able to turn the energy inward, forcing it to activate the muscles in our legs into a hyper-active state, granting is a burst of speed for a short while. You saw this earlier when I saved Lana from the battle against those two rogue ninja who attacked us, and it has served me more times then I can recall. I must warn you though, it's a bit intense. the burst of speed won't last incredibly long and it requires you to augment both legs simultaneously. However, it should prove to be invaluable within your arsenal of abilities. As a Taijutsu Specialist, you should be able to make maximal use of many of the Konaga's augmentations to their fullest ability."

Turning to face the area where Kaze was, Shinji bent down into a position which made it look like he was about to break into a sprinted dash, staring forward at his destination completely across the field as he continued the lesson. "You remember how long it took us to run over here across the field, but with this technique you can traverse the same distance in a fraction of the time. This effect essentially doubles your speed temporarily... and if you're already fast on your own, it doubles that... making it all the better. It's an immediate response, you call upon your bloodline chakra as you would any other augmentation and push it to your legs... your body knows the rest instinctively. Observe."

Without another word, Shinji directed Riko's eyes to his legs only a second before a brief shimmer of blood red chakra enveloped his legs ad then disappeared. An instant later, Shinji was gone, his body seemingly vanishing as a blurred image traverse the training grounds at blinding speed. His steps were so fast and his speed so great, that every footstep seemed to leave an explosion in it's wake, cracking the hardened earth of the training ground with each step. In no time at all, easily less then half the amount of time it had taken earlier, Shinji was completely across the other side of the field, the trail of destroyed ground marking his path as his body finally came into solid view, albeit much smaller now that he was on the other side.

Immediately as he came to a halt near Kaze, a swift wind followed him, blowing through the air as an after-effect of the speed he was traveling. Shinji would barely even be aware of the cool breeze however as his legs were burning, the pain of his bloodline flooding into each one, his knees almost buckling as he fought against the urge to collapse. Pain and Agony flooded every portion of his body and made him wish to cry out in anguish, but he bore it all, breathing heavily, but pushing through the pain as he finally raised his head and looked up to see if Riko would soon join him. The pain still threshing through his legs like a wild fire, he waited to see if Riko could push herself this far after only just committing herself to master her bloodline.

Smiling at his praise, Riko held her hands behind her back and paitently waited for Shinji's next lesson. Frowning when he said he wasn't sure what they should train in next, Riko was a bit disappointed by nodded in understanding. 'It's not surprising since we did train in a ton of jutsu already. At least I can learn some taijutsu! That's always fun!' Glancing back towards her teacher, Riko frown grew as she spotted him in pain. 'Must be from all the teaching...should we stop?' Keeping that concern to heart, Riko listened in silence as Shinji began to speak about augmentation again.

'Using augmentation to cross distances in a short period of time...useful but painful...but then again, when has augmentation ever been kind...' Eyes directed to his legs, Riko watched in wonder as Shinji's legs shimmer momentarily in chakra before he faded from sight, leaving only a gust of wind. Tucking back a stand of loose hair, Riko stopped her squinting which she had instinctively done to avoid the blast of wind, and looked towards Kaze's location. Spotting her sensei and friend there, Riko was amazed at how quickly everything went and starting down at the ground, it would appear that several small rocks and pebbles shifted that position from his speed along with dust.

Taking in a deep breath, Riko hesitanted a bit to start but after going over why and what she was doing this for, she felt her resolve return. Bending down, Riko got into the same start off position as Shinji. Letting her chakra run free, Riko focused her raging, apple green chakra towards her legs, evaloping them in a blanket of chakra. Infusing the chakra with her muscles, she felt them pulse and strength to the point she felt a stab of pain. Ignoring it, Riko slowly counted down in her head. '3...2...1!' Pushing off with her legs, Riko stared straight ahead as she dashed forward. What happened next was a blur as the training ground faded to a blur of colours and with each step she heard the cracking of the solid earthen ground. Sensing Shinji's presense, Riko stopped and looking around, saw that she had ended up a meter pass the two males. Turning around, Riko was about to head back over when pain sprang from within her legs. It felt as if everything went tense and tons of miniature blades were shot through. Knees buckling under the pain. Riko gritted her teeth as she tried to hold onto her footing.

A few, short, angonizing moments later, Riko felt the pain subside and though the pain still resounded within her legs, it was bareable. Taking a step forward, Riko stumbled as she had yet to completely by pass the pain. Taking a deep breath, Riko forced herself to continue. Her steps were slow and unsteady but eventually she crossed the short distance seperating her from her group. "How was that Shinji-san?" Riko questioned weakly and partially out of breath. The walk though short, had still taken a lot out of Riko and if someone looked close enough, they would see that her legs were still shaking from the pain.

"Good work Riko. You're pushing through the pain well, you should be proud of yourself. We'll give it a rest for now, and now that Kaze has finished training that technique, we can move on to the final technique I had planned for you two." Looking around for the scroll case which held the scrolls the Academy student had fetched for him, Shinji located it and quickly rifled through, finding the appropriate scroll as he opened it and examined the technique. "Alright, this next technique, I'll actually be learning alongside you, since I've never learned it myself, but I can easily teach it's theory to both of you any way. The technique is pretty useful actually and I wish I had learned it earlier. I can think of several instances where it would have come in handy."

"Alright then. The Tsuka no Tsuchi Souzou technique. Essentially, you're just creating a large mound of dirt directly beneath you, which will rise up, carrying you with it at it's apex until it reaches it's maximum height of about 10 ft. The slopes are steep, making it difficult to approach you unless your opponents have the ability to jump rather high. On top of that, the special mixture of earth and chakra makes the mound of earth a magnet for water, soaking it up completely. This can be useful for several reasons, but mainly it can rob a Suiton user of the water they need to perform their techniques. Other applications of such a mound will come to you as the situation arises, but it's an important feature of the mound to keep in mind."

"Now then, forming the mound. Let's go through the hand seals quickly."
Leading both Kaze and Riko through the individual hand seals slowly, he waited until each party seemed to understand the order and magnitude iof the seals and then continued on. "Now that we have that settled... the theory, which will help you to control and mold the technique. This technique is somewhat easier to shape then most... I mean, really, you're just forming a large mound of dirt below you and we've already done that several times with the Ram's head and the technique prior. the key however is the infusion of your chakra on a different level, which seeks not to harden the earth, but soften it. it requires a delicate balance though. The earth needs to be soft enough to act like a sponge, but hard enough to maintain it's form. that's what the seals do. I'm sure you noticed, but they're quite different from the other techniques, yet similar in some ways. this delicate balance of soft/hard earth is the reason. Now then, let's give it a try."
[Training: Tsuka no Tsuchi Souzou (Earth Mound Creation) (1/2)]

His discussions on theory complete, Shinji asked Riko and Kaze to take several steps back before he attempted the technique himself. Wincing for a second at some of the pain which surged through his body, Shinji fought it off and ignored it, focusing intently on producing the technique. Genin level techniques were coming much more easily to him recently and the theory he had learned in becoming a teaching master were making things clearer in his mind, helping him to mold the techniques properly. After rehearsing it all in his head, Shinji quickly launched into the necessary seals, flashing through them very quickly before ending in a final seal, sending the chakra through his body and into the ground. "Doton: Tsuka no Tsuchi Souzou" Properly molding the chakra in his body before it was released, Shinji followed his advice infusing the chakra into the earth, making it soft, but not too soft as a large mound of dirt suddenly sprung out of the ground, carrying Shinji up about 10 feet in the air at the mound's apex.
[Training: Tsuka no Tsuchi Souzou (Earth Mound Creation) (2/2)]

Pleased with the result, Shinji tapped the top of his mountain, which let a mound of dirt loose which crumbled and fell down the mound a bit. it was like standing on a mountain of freshly dug earth, soft, but reinforced by the earth it was top of, which kept him stable at the top. Leaping off the top, Shinji slid down the mound's steep slopes with perfect balance, enjoying the sudden rush of the slide as he got to the bottom, his feet hitting the ground solidly back on the hardened earth again. "And there you are... one water-sucking earth mound, precisely as ordered." Grabbing a water skin he kept near his scrolls for general hydration purposes, Shinji poured a sprinkling of the water onto the dirt, which instantly sucked up the liquid like a sponge, leaving the surface to appear as dry as it had been only seconds ago. "See, easy as can be. You two try now."
