Canalave looks like any other port town I've seen before, was Keegan thought once they'd finally arrived in Sinnoh, though he was glad to be off the ship as he'd started feeling the true effects of seasickness about a half hour before they docked. He also still hadn't felt like eating, even after they'd found a restaurant, but he ordered something anyway, knowing he'd regret it if he held off for too long. He hadn't been paying too much attention to Pan and Nova and the little squabble they'd been having until Pan vocally started taunting the poor little lizard. "Pan, if you don't knock it off right now, I'm going to send you back home to my parents' ranch, and you won't see a bit of Sinnoh," he said, his voice low and threatening. For once in his life, Pan looked a bit ashamed and he looked away from the Charmander and pouted in his seat, poking at the few remaining grapes he hadn't yet eaten. It wasn't his fault the annoying fire type was too much of a chicken to stand up to him. He looked down at Nova and sneered, muttering "Treecko, treecko tree," which more or less meant 'you're nothing but a scared little baby' in PokeSpeak. He looked over at the female Treecko, and smiled a bit before he popped a few grapes into his mouth. There was no way he was going to show any mercy, not when his reputation as a buff and heroic Pokemon was at stake.
Keegan rolled his eyes at his Treecko looked over Kilik's shoulder at the map he'd pulled up, quickly trying to commit the general layout of the Sinnoh region to memory. "I guess Jubilife City would be a good place to start," he said idly, not really minding the idea of traveling with Kasiya and Kilik. He didn't know much about the dark-haired boy, other than that he was a pretty formidable trainer and that both Mike and Kasiya respected him. "Neither of my water Pokemon are with me," he said in response to Kilik's inquiry, looking around their surroundings. "But if this is a major port town, wouldn't they have some sort of ferry service to cart people across the river or something?"
Noting that his trainer was a bit distracted by travel plans, Pan eagerly jumped on the opportunity to cause a bit of mischief, and the moment he had a clear shot he snatched up a grape and hurled it at Nova, laughing hysterically as it bounced off her head and rolled away. That dumb little lizard doesn't have the guts to do anything about it, he thought, still rolling with laughter. ===== Miharu had only just felt herself starting to drift off when her PokeNav began to chirp loudly, and with an annoyed sigh she shifted Sparkle in her arms to take the device from her pocket. It took her a moment to recognize the name on the caller ID and she blinked in surprise. "Aunt Maggie?" she mumbled to herself before answering it. I haven't heard from her in a while, I hope everything's all right...
About half an hour or so later, an even sleepier Miharu clicked off her PokeNav and shoved it back into her pocket, glad that the conversation was over, but happy that she'd heard from the Summers' side of her family. Her mother had been Todd Summers' little sister, and everyone had always found it very funny that Anne-Marie's surname changed from 'Summers' to 'Winters'. Miharu hadn't seen her mother's side of the family in a long time, though she had always enjoyed going to spend the weekend with her Uncle Todd and Aunt Maggie. Her cousin, though four years older than she, had always treated her quite well and she was glad to hear that he'd become a Pokemon Trainer as well, though he'd gone through some apparent hardships as of late. She made her way over to the PCs by the wall and logged on to the first one she reached, surprised to find that her Aunt Maggie had created a special storage program for her Pokemon. They would be sent right through the system to the Summers' Breeding Ranch, and Miharu knew right away that they would take good care of any Pokemon she sent them. An even bigger surprise was waiting for her when she checked the storage box and found a Pokemon waiting for her, just like her aunt had said. It seemed her cousin had been raising a Ponyta, but for reasons unknown to her he'd decided he didn't want to be its trainer anymore and suggested that they give the young pony to Miharu, and though it made her a little sad she swapped her Pinsir for the Ponyta, anxious to meet her newest Pokemon.

Both Riza and Akima groaned in annoyance when the Granbull began waggling its fingers again, its whole body moving in time to the rhythmic ticking. 'This is getting really old, really fast,' Riza thought, though she wasn't sure another Icy Wind would be enough to stop it. Another flash of light appeared around Chomp, and out of nowhere he was holding a strange box in his hand. It was done up nicely in wrapping paper and garnished with a gaudy, red ribbon. "Oh, I think this is Present," Terry laughed. "Let her have it, Chomp!" The Granbull grinned as he reared back and lobbed the box at the Sneasel, very sure he knew what was going to happen when it landed.
Akima winced and braced herself for the explosion she was sure was about to occur. Instead of exploding, however, the box landed at her feet and burst open, expelling a soft, warming light that made Akima feel energized and refreshed. It seemed that the Present had healed her instead of harming her! The Sneasel grinned and flexed her now-healed leg, looking over at the Granbull with a very devilish look in her eye. "Thanks for that," Riza laughed, nodding to her Pokemon. "Akima, it's time for a Faint Attack!"
Very glad to be mobile again the Sneasel darted forward on all fours, her body vanishing in a wisp of dark energy. She reappeared a moment later behind the large Fairy Pokemon and lashed out with her claws, scoring a very solid hit in the process. "You might want to find yourself a new strategy," Riza called over to Terry, unable to keep herself from grinning. * * * * * Jaden had watched the remainder of the battle with curious interest, and though he would have liked to see Crenu pull off a win, he wasn't at all surprised to see Ken come away as the victor. 'Ken sure is something,' he thought, quietly following after Crenu as he headed for the pokecenter. He was a bit surprised when he didn't see his sister anywhere in the center, and when he asked the nurse about her as he gave her his Flareon, Heracross, and Slowbro's poke balls. "Oh, she dropped off three of her Pokemon and went outside," she said as she placed the spheres in a tray. "Her Pokemon are ready now, though, so she should be back any time to pick them up."
"Okay, thanks," Jaden said, looking around the center again, wondering where Riza had gone. She wasn't outside of the center, but she still had one of her Pokemon with her, which made him relax a bit. 'She'll come back when she's good and ready,' he thought, getting himself a can of pop from the vending machine. 'Sometimes she needs to sulk a bit before calming down.' * * * * * When the two Pokemon came to a stop, the Budew was able to get to his feet and hobble away, but Kord wasn't so lucky. Once again his small body had been taken over by paralysis and all he could do was lie there. "Looks like this is going to be difficult for your poor little Elekid," the lady said, frowning a little. "But, we shall capitalize on our good fortune. Bud, please use Bullet Seed one more time." The Budew nodded and hopped up and down, preparing to shoot out the seeds like before, but suddenly his own body seized up and he was unable to move. It seemed like Kord's static had got a hold of him and now he too was paralyzed.
"You were saying?" Katie said, trying not to laugh. Both trainers stared at their paralyzed Pokemon, wondering what to do. Katie still had the option of switching to her Roselia, but she wasn't going to switch until she was sure Kord was in trouble. Sure, the Elekid had taken a few hits but it was mostly the paralysis that was his problem. "Try a Thundershock," she said, deciding to stick to moves that wouldn't require a lot of movement.
The Elekid struggled to get to his feet and spun his arms around, generating a weak current of electricity. It had significantly less power than his previous thundershocks had, but his paralyzed body was making it difficult to move even his arms. With a grunt he sent out the jolt of electricity, watching with a small grin as it struck his opponent. Though it was light damage, it was better than attempting to use his other attacks and falling flat on his face again, and leaving himself vulnerable to attack.

"Haha! That's a pretty powerful Sonic Boom your little Yanma knows." The fishermen laughed as he watched the two pokemon recover. "Still I don't think that your Yanma is gunna stand a chance in this form to beat me! Floatzel show them your Aqua Jet!" The Floatzel nodded and without any sort of fancy moves the weasel pokemon blasted off in a spurt of water heading right for Razputin.
"Raz use Detect!" Robin ordered as Raz started to glow with his speed boost. The aerial master didn't even get a chance to nod to show he heard since the attack was coming so fast. The speedy pokemon dodge just in time to avoid a painful looking Aqua Jet.
"Detect doesn't always work girlie, you can't win by dodging all the time either. Floatzel Crunch down on that Yanma's wings, bring it down from the sky!" Turning from the spot that it landed the Floatzel jumped up again aiming like it was told for Razputins wings in hopes to bring the flying type pokemon down.
Frowning Robin watched as Raz glowed again his speed going up once more. That Floatzel was pretty darn fast, they couldn't keep dodging even if Raz's speed did catch up to the other pokemons. "Raz blast that Floatzel with a Supersonic when it get's close!" Her faithful bug pokemon did just that to. When the water pokemon got close enough the Yanma beat its wings even harder producing a Supersonic wave right in the Floatzels face. However in exchange the cute little bug managed to get tackled right to the ground. It was a good thing the Floatzels teeth missed but now he was trapped underneath the darn thing!
"Hey that was pretty smart. Still first damage goes to us. Floatzel why that Yanma is trapped under there use that Crunch of yours again!" The Floatzel just stared dizzily down at its prey not exactly sure what was going on for a second. Frowning the water type shook its head trying to clear the cobwebs out, when it looked back down though the Yanma was gone! Where it was gone to wasn't a mystery that was open for very long as the Floatzel felt a pain lance across its back. Looking up Floatzel saw the Yanma disappear in a cloud of black smoke.
"Woohoo Raz! That was some smart thinking there!" Robin cheered as she watched her Yanma escape with its Faint Attack. Raz was even smart enough to use it to land a hit evening the scoreboards just a bit.

As Dante was lazily eating his breakfast and generally feeling pretty good about himself he was a bit disturbed by a small ruckus going on a little ways off. Glancing up from his newspaper he saw that it was some sort teasing war between a Charmander and a Treeko. Shrugging and deciding to ignore it Dante went back to his paper before recognition hit him. Glancing over again he saw that there at the table was Kasiya, Kilik and his favorite redheaded trainer Keegan. Hm, he didn't really get to spend to much time with them on the boat. He thought Keegan was staying behind even, maybe he had heard wrong? He probably had.
Eying his breakfast he figured that he was done with it and looking over to Hera confirmed that she was just licking the jar now. They were all set! Since he couldn't exactly feed Apollo here and Xanon and Turn A didn't need to eat his team was feed for the most part. Snagging his egg he decided that to go pay the group a visit.
"Looks like you guys missed breakfast on the boat to." He said with a small smirk as he approached the table Hera following him with a fresh jar of syrup she had grabbed from another table.

Crush came off the wave with little effort. The shore was very near now. He was about to drop onto his stomach when he saw a scuffle on the beach. It looked like some kid was out numbered by a trio of corphish. "Looks like those little dudes could use a hand."
Still balancing on his surf board, Crush drew out one of his pokeballs. "C'mon out Ardah and let's give those bullies a taste of their own medicine."
With that the surfer boy threw the pokeball into the air and in a flash of white out came the bronze disc pokemon that had been contained within. "Zor zor!" It chimed cheerly as it appeared on the shore hovering above the sand.
"Use your confusion, Ardah, so I've got time to get to shore!" He called out as he dropped to his stomach and with powerful strokes began gliding the rest of the way to shore.
The bronze pokemon began to spin, kicking up some of the sand, and then irregular waves of psychic energy crashed out towards the ruckus on the beach.
The corphish were taken by surprise as the attack crashed into them. Sending them tumbling in the sand and cracking against each others claws in confusion.
The boy and his crabby looked up in surprise as the corphish were sent tumbling. "Hola, little dude" Crush waved from down the beach. "Alright Ardah, don't let 'em recover"
The disc pokemon flew forward for a tackle attack.

It was obvious by now that Terry was regretting his strategy of using metronome, but for some reason he felt that abandoning it now would not be a good thing. "Again," he said simply, refusing to make eye contact with Riza, who was still grinning broadly. Chomp, aching a little from the attack he'd just taken nodded, even though he too was a little annoyed with his rotten metronome luck so far, and he began to waggle his fingers again, closing his eyes as the rhythmic ticking started up.
Once again his hands began to glow and this time, the Granbull let out a growl and pointed at Akima when the ticking stopped, and everyone grew quiet when the resulting flash of light appeared. Suddenly, there was a strange buzzing noise all around them and then a swarm of small bumble bees began to fly all around the Granbull. A greenish light appeared as they swarmed around him, and Riza quickly grabbed her Pokedex to try and see what the move was before it was over. "Heal Order," the device said. "Heals up to half of the user's max hit points."
"Oh, damn," Riza grumbled as the bees vanished, and suddenly Chomp was looking just as healthy as Akima was. * * * * * "I seem to have under estimated your Elekid's strength," the lady trainer said, giving a slight bow, "but it will not be able to win. Bud, finish up with a Mega Drain." The tiny Budew nodded and hopped up and down, apparently not suffering from the paralysis as much as poor Kord was. It let out a growl and his body glowed a slight green hue as a large orb of greenish energy was suddenly sucked from Kord's body. It sped across the grass and into the Budew's body, and suddenly its wounds and previous injuries were all healed up nicely.
Kord, on the other hand, was not doing nearly as well, and the poor Elekid let out a pained whimper before he toppled forward, eyes squeezed shut. Instead of recalling him right away Katie walked over to him and picked him up, gently cradling him in her arms. This was the first time he'd really been knocked out like this and she gently kissed his forehead. "You did well, Kord," she said. The Elekid opened his eyes a bit and grinned up at her before he passed out cold, and this time Katie did put him into his ball.
"Do you have another Pokemon to send out?" the lady trainer asked.
"Yes, I do," Katie answered, already holding up her second poke ball. "I think you'll find this one to be quite interesting." She gave it a toss, and her Roselia made an appearance, bowing gracefully as she greeted her opponents.
"Oh my, what a lovely Roselia you have," the lady said. "I hope that someday my little Bud will be able to evolve into one as well."
"I hope so too," Katie said, then looked to her Pokemon. "Seraphim, start off with a Poison sting," she said quickly. Seraph nodded and did a twirl, sending several poisonous purple barbs flying at her enemy.

After reclaiming her Pokemon from the nurse, Miharu made her way outside of the Pokemon Center, carrying her newest Pokemon's Pokeball in her hands. She'd never thought about having more than six Pokemon before, and the thought of leaving poor Petunia with her aunt and uncle weighed heavily on her heart. I'm sure she'll love it, though, she thought, remembering that her aunt had told her they raised many, many Pokemon at their breeding center, some of which belonged to her cousin, and that Petunia would be well taken care of. Miharu made her way towards the harbor, having had enough of Cianwood City for now, but she quickly discovered that there would be no ships leaving until tomorrow morning. It seemed that the whirlpools surrounding the Whirl Islands were stronger than usual and the harbormaster didn't want to risk any of his ships out at sea. "I guess we're stuck here," the girl thought, looking down at the Pokeball in her hands.
She started walking along the beach, thinking back to her earlier match with Chuck. He'd been relentless with his attacks, never once letting up, yet somehow, she'd been able to overcome him and his Pokemon. I didn't do it by myself, she thought, smiling to herself. My Pokemon really were the stars of that battle, I just helped to make them shine. She took a few more steps and then tossed the Pokeball, holding out her hand to catch it as it returned to her upon releasing the creature inside. The young fire horse took shape in front of her, its flames dancing in the slight breeze, and Miharu smiled at the Ponyta as she looked around her, taking in the sights. "Hello there, Mori, it's nice to meet you," Miharu said, extending her hand.
Mori blinked and looked at the girl carefully, making sure to get a good read off her. The people that had been taking care of her had told her about her new trainer, and while she was excited to get away from the ranch and explore, she was also very nervous about meeting someone new. The girl seemed to be nice enough though, and Mori liked her tone of voice, and after a moment or so she moved forward and gently bumped against Miharu's hand with her muzzle. Miharu smiled, and softly ran her hands over the Ponyta's velvety soft coat. "I think you and I are going to be very good friends."

"Eh? What's this?" Jason, who was still sitting on the deck with Poseidon now bouncing around trying to catch Zeus, was now noticing that the port city they were going to stop at was getting closer and closer. The ship had been slowing down for some time now and they were already up close to the docks, so close to the actual city that Jason could see some of the people walking around the town and some sailors getting thing ready on their own boats. This was it, they were in Sinnoh now and Jason was just way to excited to bother waiting. He didn't even really think things through, before he knew it he had snatched Poseidon up in his arms and was making a mad dash for the city, the ship's railing getting closer and closer. The cute playful Mantyke was caught by surprise to say the least, one second he was bouncing up trying to get the metal magnet orb thing that kept hovering just out of reach, and the next he was in Jason's arms with the sea breeze rushing past him. Zeus, not having noticed what Jason was doing until it was to late, was unable to shock the boy into submission, and not wanting to go for a swim himself he made a quick retreat into his pokeball, turning into a red beam of light that was sucked right up into the ball on Jason's belt. This wasn't going to go well for sure. There were a few gasps of surprise and worry, a few attempts to stop the mad boy, but all were useless in the face of Jason's impulsive behavior, and the next thing anyone saw was a boy with a Mantyke in his arms jumping up, kicking off the rail of the ship and plunging to the water. "Yaaahooooo! Swim Poseidon swim!" This was the only noise that came from Jason, followed by a big splash as they hit the water, trainer and pokemon sinking beneath the surface into the cold waters of Canalave. He held onto his Mantyke as best he could, and the pokemon immediately made for the surface, breaking out of the water and flying up high while Jason remained below after letting go once his head was out of the water. No time was wasted though, both of them swimming away from the beat as not to get pulled in by the enormous fan blades it was sure to have in the back, people still looking at him from the port and the ship. "Oh m-m-m-man this water's c-c-cold!" Jason exclaimed, trying to laugh as he made for the closest dock that he could climb. It seemed the ship wasn't even close to docking yet, as it kept going farther before making a big wide turn into the city, and Jason started to think that maybe that wasn't such a good idea in the end. The walls were a bit to high for Jason to climb up and he started thinking that he was going to be stranded, so close to the destination too, but was saved when a big hand reached down from the top of the stone wall and pulled him up. "T-thanks..." He was still shivering as he looked at his savior, an older looking gentleman, probably a captain or something, with a strange bird pokemon on his shoulder. It was a small bird, black head and pink beak with a yellow breast and blue and green body. The pokemon cocked it's head as it looked at him and squawked. "T-thanks." "W-woh! Did that bird just talk? What's going on here!?" Jason exclaimed as he fell back down, almost back over the edge of the wall and back into the water. He managed to avoid falling though and just sat there looking back at the man and the bird, Mantyke looking up at him from the water and going under for a sec before jumping back out, up over small wall and landing next to Jason. "What's going on here, what's going on here. Did that bird just talk?" The odd pokemon continued to squawk, looking rather amused while the man said nothing.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The ash that had collected at the end of the cigarette fell off, leaving only a faint red glow before Shiro pressed it up against the pokecenter stairs and smothered it. Jaden had entered the center not to long ago, but he didn't say anything to him. It seemed that Riza still wasn't back yet, where she'd gone to he still didn't know. Maybe she was still blowing off some steam, either way Shiro decided he should go take a look. From the map he had in his bag, it seemed the only two places she could have gone to on foot was north towards Saffron and east to no place in particular. Seeing as it was a large map it didn't give that many details, he'd have to pick up a Kanto map at some point, but if she was just going for a walk then it wasn't likely she'd head up to the next city. So instead Shiro decided to head eastward, out of Vermilion and onto Rout 11. Though finding Riza was his objective, his mind could only go back to the battle he just had with Ken. Ken was just so goofy and strange, so loud and annoying. And yet, he was defeated so soundly! And the first round went to him only because Ken was using his Fearow, and the Hitmonlee he'd been training! Just what was that all about then? Was he really such a bad trainer? No that couldn't be it, Crenu knew what he was doing. He knew his pokemons moves, what they could do and what they could be used for. He had calculated the limits of each of his own pokemon and what was within the realm of reasonable in terms of what he could expect from them. He had it all down to a science, the numbers crunched the probabilities set, so what was it then!? Crenu started to feel his skin crawling again with his loss, and all his losses. Perhaps the biggest was against Surge who took pitty upon him for not being able to get the job done all the way and gave him a badge regardless. What was that about? Didn't anyone know that the badge was the last thing in the world Crenu wanted? Proof of accomplishing something and overcoming the challenge blah blah blah, he didn't need trinkets and novelties like that. The only thing that mattered was the win, that's what he desired. That was the reason he battled, the reason he challenged gyms, to soundly defeat the opponent and add another win to his record. A record that was pathetic by the way, few wins against worthless forgettable trainers and only losses against anyone of worth. So what was he then? Was he like the trash he had defeated? Was Crenu trash!? No, no of course not...HE WAS WORSE THAN TRASH! Crenu was burning with hatred at his weakness, so weak he couldn't win, so weak he couldn't save anyone, not Ayane....not his father. They both died and he was to weak to do a damn thing about it! Crenu's hands started shaking as his blood started to boil, but then a faint sound snapped him back to reality, a familiar voice. It was the voice of Riza, who was battling with another opponent right now alongside Akima it seem. Crenu got closer, but just a bit, making sure to stay behind Riza and out of sight. His intense hatred waned, his skin stopped crawling and he calmed down as he watched the battle unfold. She was battling a Granbull, and looked to be winning. he smirked a bit, watching as her opponents went with Metronome, a hail Marry pass that was ever so unreliable and the sign of desperation for sure. He was sure Riza had this one in the bad but this would prove to be a mistake as some strange looking bees started buzzing around the Fairy Pokemon and it seemed to gain back it's vitality all of a sudden. A healing move? That was lucky...beyond lucky. But no matter, he was curious to see how Riza would deal with this new turn of events.

Sam stretched and yawned. It was already light outside. She prodded Devlin awake, and he cooed quietly. Sleepily, she went and knocked on Kya's door. There was no reply, and Sam figured Kya had already headed out for Goldenrod. Sam went and double-checked the train schedule, then glanced at the clock. Then she stared at it.
"It already left?!" she cried. She quickly packed up her things, and recalled Devlin to his pokeball. "Nurse Joy! Nurse Joy, can you call the train station?! I need them to hold the train for just a few minutes!" The Nurse Joy, raising an eyebrow, but then smiling sweetly said,
"Oh, if you mean the one to Goldenrod, it has already left. Sorry. But the next one departs tonight if you would like to wait. Oh by the way, your pokemon are healed up." She handed the pokeballs to Sam, who sighed and took them dejectedly.
"I guess I have to walk then...Oh! Maybe...Nurse Joy, do you remember the girl with me earlier? Did she leave already?"
"Oh yes, I remember. She left just an hour ago. If she didn't stop, she may already be in Goldenrod. But with the amount of Pokemon and Trainers around, I bet she's still on Route 39." Sam ran towards the door, yelling her thanks as she exited the Pokemon Center. She unfolded her bike, and started pedaling out onto Route 39. She flew past several trainers, even pedaling straight through a battle. As she ducked to avoid a Pokemon's Vine Whip, she saw ahead a huge farm. Sam decided it would be a good idea to stop there, she wasn't the most atheltic of people and the bike ride had already tired her out a little.
'Just a five minute break is all I need...Perhaps Kya is here,' she reasoned. She re-folded her bike, and walked to the big farmhouse, with a large sign that proclaimed, "MOOMOO MILK SOLD HERE". Sam suddenly recognized this place. Her dad had taken her here once, when she was really little. She had sat at a stool, drinking lots of MooMoo Milk and chatting with the owner's daughters as their fathers discussed the price of bringing some MooMoo Milk to Cianwood. Sam smiled at the memory. The MooMoo Milk had been delicious...Maybe she should get some. She entered the big farmhouse, and blinked in wonder. It was bigger then she remembered, which was odd because normally it was the other way around. She looked up at the 2nd floor. She spotted a familiar face. "KYA!" she screamed. Kya was startled and fell out of her chair. Sam stifled a laugh, then went up the stairs and went to Kya's table. "Oh gosh, I'm sorry!" Sam giggled. She helped Kya up. She glanced to the table. "You mind if I sit with you for awhile?" Kya, her eyes extremely wide, shook her head.
"Not at all! Though I admit, you scared the living bejeezus out of me!" Sam snorted.
"You sound like my mom!"
"Is that bad?"
"Well no, but I've never heard anyone else use that phrase!"
"Well, I'm a bit different...So what are you doing here anyhow? I thought you were going on the train to Goldenrod."
"I overslept actually, so I biked all the way here. Made great time too! But I could go for a MooMoo Milk now, I came here when I was little, it was so good!" Kya pushed her drink towards Sam, along with an extra straw.
"Here, you can finish mine off. You missed it! I battled someone earlier, and Gina beat all the kid's pokemon! It was kind of easy though, the boy had three Magnemite, and Gina is immune to Electric-type attacks. By the way, you have a twig in your hair." Sam carefully pulled the twig out, and threw it aside. She smoothed her hair down.
"So....You wanna go to Goldenrod together? Maybe I overslept for a reason, it's destiny!" She laughed.
"Or it could just be you were exhausted after our battle. But yeah, it sounds good. Strength in numbers right?"
"Exactly. What, you don't believe in destiny?"
"You do? You believe that it doesn't matter what choices we make, we're going to be stuck on our path?"
"You make it sound so pessimistic."
========
Eztli had talked with Mr. Masuda, who had flatly refused to help her at all. He hadn't listened to a word she had said. In despair, she had recalled Zolin, and wandered aimlessly through Fuschia for hours. Now it was daylight, and Eztli couldn't make the ferry from Cinnabar, even if she had the fastest pokemon fly her there. Eztli trudged back to the Pokemon Center, and lay down carefully on the couch. She wasn't one for rash actions usually. She calmly thought about her options. She could wait for the next ferry, or she could keep trying to find someone kind enough to get her a ride to Sinnoh. She closed her eyes and sighed. Did she have much choice? Perhaps she would get lucky, and the next ferry would be leaving soon enough, but not too soon, so she could get to the next town. There was only one other port town in Kanto, Vermilion City. Eztli got up off the couch, and calmly checked the ferry schedule for Vermilion City. The next ferry for Sinnoh wouldn't be for a long time...but...Eztli frowned. She could go to Hoenn, to Lilycove. Apparently, after the first Sinnoh Ferry had left yesterday, there was a flood of people trying to get on the next possible ferry to Sinnoh. They had scheduled several extra ferries to Sinnoh, to arrive in Canalave as soon as possible. If Eztli could catch the next ferry to Lilycove out of Vermilion, she could then hop on the next ferry to Sinnoh. She checked the times, and found the earliest she could possibly be in Sinnoh would be late tomarrow. It would have to do. She gathered up her things, and left the Pokemon Center, heading for Vermilion. She realized that this would be the third time in only a day traveling this route. She hoped the Snorlax Mix's friend had woken up was still gone...
She snuck through the sparse brush, hoping to avoid any trainer battles. She thought back to when she was on the route south of Goldenrod, when she had stepped through a girl's picnic, and had to battle her. She hoped that wouldn't happen now. She tensed as she heard a twig snap behind her. After the incident at her grandmother's, she had to be extra careful. She kept walking at a normal pace, listening carefully for more noises. If someone was following her, they weren't very good at it. She could plainly here twigs snapping and leaves crunching. Finally, hoping whoever it was would be caught by surprise, she spun around, and in one fluid motion launched herself and pinned the person down. As she sat on his chest, breathing deeply but quietly, she noticed it was just a boy, couldn't be older then 10. She gazed at him. "Why are you following me?" she whispered, surprisingly calm. The boy struggled against her, but Eztli couldn't be moved. The boy glared at her.
"I was just trying to get some tips on how to be a good pokemon trainer! No need to kill me!"
"Why didn't you just ask me for help, instead of scaring me?"
"Well I actually didn't know if you would help me, and I didn't think you knew I was following me."
"You were a bull in a china shop."
"Anyways! So will you let me up? Can I please just get some tips from you? Just for awhile? Until we reach Vermilion?"
"Fine I gue- How did you know I was going to Vermilion?" The boy blushed. "You've been following me that long?" she asked incredulously. He nodded. Eztli looked to the sky. She had her own personal stalker child. Just what she needed. "Alright fine."

Venerax stood up looking at Karrigan and Bill. "Well, I say we've kept from our meal long enough."
Bill nodded. "Yes we can talk more over some food."
"I'm looking forward to seeing what a Scientist can conjure up in the kitchen." Venerax laughed and scratched the Shinx's head.================================================
Ardah crashed into one of the three corphish sending it tumbling back into the waves. The bronzor hovered facing off with the remaining two before it.
Crush jogged over to the kid. "You alright, little dude."
"Y-yeah," The school kid stuttered. "I just didn't want them to hurt this Krabby."
The surfer from Sinnoh smiled. "Your hearts in the right place, but you shouldn't try to take on wild pokemon without one of your own."
"Alright time to even out the numbers! Use your hypnosis, Ardah," Crush said turning back to the bronzor, and reaching to his belts taking out another pokeball. "C'mon Kaikea! Need your help!"

Both trainers exchanged somewhat annoyed glances as all the damage they'd managed to inflict on each other's Pokemon was now negated, with the only issue being the reduction in speed for both parties. The Sneasel and Granbull were both looking at each other with the same expressions as their trainers, though neither showed signs of giving in any time soon. 'Oh, this is just fabulous,' Riza thought, giving her Pokedex another good glare before she closed it, but she didn't put it away, just in case stupid Terry and his stupid Granbull decided to go with their idiotic metronome strategy again.
"See, I told you it would work," the red headed trainer called over to her.
Riza scoffed. "Yeah, fourth time's the charm, really," she said sarcastically. After all, two of the four Metronomes he'd used had been beneficial to Riza and not him. "You're wasting your time with unpredictable moves like that."
"I disagree," he shot back, now starting to get angry as well. "Metronome is a great way to train myself and my Pokemon to deal with the unexpected. We will learn to adapt to any situation and find a way to make it work out in our favor!"
"...It's still an idiotic strategy. You had a huge advantage before you started spamming that stupid move. You should have moved in and attacked when you saw that Akima's leg was hurt. You wasted your opportunity and now you're going to regret it," she retorted, surprising herself a little. 'Wow, I kinda sound like Crenu,' she thought, but shook her head. "It's time to teach them how smart trainers fight. Akima, Ice Punch. " The Sneasel nodded eagerly and darted forward on all fours, her claws digging into the ground to give her extra traction and momentum. The previous taunt seemed to have worn off now as well, and the Granbull was back to looking kind of timid, and he braced himself as Akima neared him. However, instead of attacking immediately, Akima ducked and rolled, coming up on her hind legs and springing up into the air. Her fist glowed with the familiar icy power as she landed a solid icy punch to the top of the cowering Granbull's head. * * * * * Though the lady trainer knew that it would be a good idea to try and have her little Budew dodge the oncoming poison sting, she also knew that it would be next to impossible in its paralyzed state. The barbs sped through the air and struck the tiny plant. He wobbled a bit but didn't fall over, though the lady trainer knelt down beside her tired Pokemon and picked him up. "That's enough," she said, cradling the Budew in her arms. "You battled very well," she told him before putting him back into his ball. "And so did you, you should be very proud," she said to Katie, smiling.
"Thank you," Katie said, amazed that this woman had remained so calm during the entire battle. Seraphim wandered back over to Katie's side and rested one of her rosy hands on her leg. Katie knelt down and patted the Roselia. "Good job," she said, even though there hadn't been much for the Roselia to do.
"Would you like to accompany me to Floaroma Town?" the lady asked. "I find that traveling is much more fun when you have company."
"Sure, that sounds like fun," Katie nodded, and the two of them started on towards the city. Katie opted to keep Seraph out of her poke ball for a while as she knew the Roselia would enjoy the bright sunny day.

"Heh, your Yanma is pretty smart there girl. It's gunna be a shame to take it down. Still the fights gunna be worth it. Floatzel shoot it out of the skies with your water gun!" The Floatzel blinked a few times in confusion before it shook its head and focused on the glowing Yanma. Filling its mouth full of water the Floatzel started firing off blasts at the clear wing pokemon. With the Yanma in the sky like that there was just to much of an advantage on its side.
"Raz Quick Attack! Try not to get hit but don't be afraid if you have to take a few hits!" Robin ordered with a flourishing point at the Floatzel. Raz did a little flip, neatly dodging a blast from the water gun as well, before dashing forward in a blur. There were a few hints that the Yanma was nicked by the water but it didn't knock him off course as the strong pokemon slammed into the Floatzels gut knocking it down and back. Raz let out a triumphant cry as it twirled over to Robin with ease. "Good job Raz!" Sure Robin could attack the Floatzel right now but something just didn't sit right with her in attacking a pokemon that was knocked down. Sure she and Luffy took advantage of Fake Out but it never really knocked pokemon down.
"You have one fast little Yanma over there. Then again that Speed Boost ability can really throw one for a loop. All right Floatzel let's stop playing around. Let's show them that Ice Fang move you remembered!"
"Ice Fang? What the heck is that!" Ok maybe it was exactly what it sounded like. Robin watched as the Floatzels mouth started to frost over before it charged right at Raz its mouth full of ice that would probably knock out her energetic Yanma if it hit. "Ooo Raz use Psychic!" Robin defiantly did not want that attack to hit her. Robin watched with wide eyes as the Floatzel lept at the flying pokemon and while she didn't want Raz to get hurt she had faith that her pokemon would pull of Psychic in time to defend itself.
It turns out that Robin's faith in her pokemon was rewarded as Raz managed to pull it off without half a second to spare. The Floatzel was just about to snap its jaws down on his tail when it went slamming down to the ground with the power of Raz's Psychic attack. Laughing happily glad to escape the danger Raz flipped around in the air a few times and laughed a little at his fallen enemy. It really did seem like it had fallen as it wasn't really getting up.
"Hmm, you did pretty good there girlie, I was not expecting a psychic attack from that little bug." The man recalled his pokemon as Robin waved Raz over to her. It was going to be a one on one battle and Raz had already had some fun. Now it was time to see if her Slowpoke was up to another battle. He had done well against Misty and she was a gym leader! Maybe he would be able to fair pretty well now to? Well if not it was always practice and that was one thing they all needed. "All right Slowpoke let's try out another battle ok?" Robin grinned as she released the dopey pokemon. The poor Slowpoke didn't really know what was going on. One moment he was in the kitchen and the next thing he knew he was with the redhead from before and in some sort of battle?
"A Slowpoke huh? You don't see to many Slowpokes around here." The fisherman said with a grin as he rubbed his stubbled chin. "Well I have just the right opponent for it! Shellos let's battle!" The fisherman released a pink looking slug thing that Robin had no idea what it was.
"Ooo what's that?" Robin grinned as she scanned the new pokemon in. She was having so much fun! She had already seen a bunch of new pokemon and this battle was turning out to be a lot of fun! On the ground Slowpoke just noticed they sent out a strange looking new pokemon. The dopey pokemon's eyes widened as he wondered how the heck he was supposed to fight that!

Now, Mike had flown many, many times, but there was something about this specific trip that was a little off. He wasn't sure if it was his strange illness acting up (which felt like a permanent case of heartburn, acid reflux and a fever all in one), but he felt awful. The wind whipping against his face was normally welcomed with open arms and an accompanied 'whee!', but not this time. He felt weak, fatigued, like a dying flame tossed around by an evening gust. Mike clutched his head and let out a throaty groan. "It's bad enough that I'm burning up, but now even flying has me sick." He leaned over the side and looked at the ocean beneath him. A sudden wave of terror came across him as he looked at the gentle waves. He screamed and gripped Nitro's sides like a frightened cat.
The Charizard jerked in surprise, causing a slight bump in the flight, and another terrified shriek from his trainer. Nitro bit his bottom lip, feeling rather guilty about adding more anxiety to the situation.
"It's o-okay Nitro." Mike sputtered weakly, readjusting himself. He could feel his insides beginning to burn up. "Just please hurry u-up. I don't know how much more I can take." Not much more it seems, as he had no sooner finished the sentence than he leaned over the side and vomited a orange and red colored mess. The colors scattered, and to Mike's surprise, made a few sparks before bursting into flames as it plummeted into the ocean.
Wide-eyed, Mike spent the rest of the trip clinging to his Pokemon like a straitjacket. "That the hell is happening to me?"

Upon seeing Kilik start to download the Sinnoh map for his PokeNav, Kasiya decided to do the same, and it wasn't long before she too was studying the onscreen map carefully. "There probably is a ferry," she said, grinning a bit, "but, as a matter of fact, I do have a Pokemon capable of using Surf with me." She wouldn't get a chance to elaborate as a voice interrupted them, though at first Kasiya didn't recognize the auburn-haired boy that stood before them. "Dante!" she laughed, tilting her head to study his new do, "I almost didn't recognize you!"
Ok, that's it! Having food thrown at her was the very last straw! Nova jumped up to her feet and pointed at Pan, tears of anger and frustration brimming in the corners of her eyes. "Char! Charmander, mander char!" she growled, which more or less translated as "I'll show you who's the baby, bring it!" The flame on her tail flared up intensely, giving off so much heat that the air rippled around her.
It was impossible to miss this development in Nova and Pan's squabble, and Kasiya tucked her PokeNav into her pocket. "Whoa, Nova, calm down," she said, holding her hands out to the young lizard to try and calm her. "He's just being a jerk, ignore him, okay?" Nova looked over her shoulder at her trainer, and shook her head. Couldn't she see the injustice of that horrible Treecko's actions? He totally deserved to be set on fire for being so mean to her, when she hadn't done anything but exist! Kasiya sighed, and looked over at Pan, rolling her eyes a little when she saw that the gecko was rolling with laughter. "Maybe we should let them sort out their differences with a battle?" she suggested, looking up at the redhead. "It might help them to spend some of that extra energy." And, teaching him a lesson that playing with fire will often get you burned wouldn't be such a bad thing either, she thought, giggling inwardly.
=-=-=-=-= Zaira mewed happily and bumped her head against Venerax's hand, eagerly lapping up the attention he was giving her. Karrigan watched her Shinx with an almost vacant expression, though after a moment or so a faint smile tugged at the corners of her mouth. Zaira was a handful, but she couldn't help but adore the kittenish Pokemon, and she idly wondered what other Pokemon Venerax carried with him. Perhaps they could even go so far as to have a practice match after breakfast. She turned to Bill. "Would you like some help preparing breakfast?" she asked, her voice a bit flat. It wasn't that she didn't want to help, or anything like that, it was just her normal tone of voice.

Kilik was happy to hear that Kas had something they could Surf on. Hopefully it was big enough to carry all three of them, because he knew Ariel wasn't going to be able to do it. As far as he knew, Kasiya didn't have any large Water-types, either. Not a Gyarados, or Blastoise or anything of the sort. "What are we going to Surf on to ge--" his question was cut off as she stood up to talk to Dante. Kilik stood up as well, looking at the other boy. He didn't know exactly how to feel about seeing him, as the two were never exactly close as friends or trainers, but he had to respect him for entrusting Bahamut to him. "Hey Dante. Flygon's doing great," he smiled, then looked down at the ground as Nova was throwing a small tantrum. Sure glad I don't have a Charmander, he thought with a laugh. He figured he'd leave the large Fire-types, like Charizard and the like, to trainers like Mike. Flareon was just big enough for him, and Chimchar seemed to be just the right size as well.
Treecko didn't know why the Charmander was being such a baby. What her hero was doing was genuinely funny! But when the female offered to have a battle, her eyes lit up. Oh! She was going to see her Pan in a real battle! She took the flower off of her head and handed it to him as a token. "Treecko...Tree Treecko cko," she cooed which translated roughly to 'Take this...and win for me.' She was blushing the whole time she was holding the flower to him.Cable was laughing, enjoying the squabble between the two Pokemon, finding it quite entertaining. It reminded him of the rivalry he shared with Napalm, though to a much smaller extent. While Nova and Pan were bickering, it was nothing more than Pan being a bully. Cable and Napalm have been fighting since they were born. The Electabuzz looked up at Kilik and tugged his trainer's sleeve. He actually did miss battling Napalm, and he really wanted to show off his new power to that annoying little Magby.
Kilik patted Cable on the head. "If you two are going to battle," he said, laughing, "Then I'll gladly ref. Let's go," and with that statement, Kilik brought everyone outside and found a nice open space outside in the town, a few people gathering to form a small circle around Kasiya and Keegan. He cleared his throat. "This will be a one-on-one battle with no time limit. Kasiya has chosen Charmander, and Keegan has chosen Treecko. A winner will be determined by knock-out, or if one party decides to for-go the match." Cable shot three bullets of electricity up into the air, the third with a bit more energy. As the bolts fell to the ground in second-intervals, the third landed with a crash, followed by Kilik calling "Go!" Oh, how she hoped her hero would win.

Keegan glanced over at Kasiya as she told them she had a surfing Pokemon. Okay, I'm sure it's not Ariel, and unless Levi's evolved... His thoughts trailed off then, as it could be the only other explanation, barring the possibility that she had gone off and caught herself a Wailord or Gyarados or something huge like that and had just forgotten to mention it. He looked over at the strange-looking mohawk boy as he approached them with slight disinterest, not recognizing him at all until Kasiya said his name. "Dante," he said, raising an eyebrow as he took in his friend's new look, "looks like you got into a fight with a Scizor and lost," he said, laughing. "And yeah, we did miss breakfast, but luckily they let everyone get something for free, eh?" he added, looking to the Heracross happily slurping away at a jar of maple syrup.
He hadn't noticed Pan's throwing of the grape at Nova, though he instantly knew he'd done something to tick her off when she started growling at him. The redhead glared over at Pan, who wasn't even trying to look innocent now, though he narrowed his eyes when Kasiya called the Treecko a jerk. Nova's not the only one who needs to chill, he thought, though a battle did sound like a good idea. As much as he thought the Charmander was overreacting, he too thought that Pan could use a lesson in humility.
The instant that his trainer's mate suggested a battle, the male Treecko jumped to his feet. Nova's little tantrum hadn't deterred him in the least, and he stood as tall as he could when Treecko approached him. He accepted the token and kissed her beautiful little hand before nodding solemnly - he would defeat the strongest enemy if it meant impressing her! He jumped up onto Keegan's shoulder and tucked the flower behind the redhead's ear. It was made of plastic and he was going up against that little firebrand, after all, and while he was insanely narcissistic, he wasn't stupid, and he didn't want anything to happen to the flower as it meant a lot to him. He patted Keegan on the shoulder as if to say "Let's go already!" Keegan sighed again, and nodded to Kilik. "Works for me," he said, motioning with his hand for the dark-haired boy to lead the way.
It didn't take long for them to find an open space, and Keegan surveyed it for a moment or so, deciding that the two Pokemon couldn't do too much damage to it. He nodded as Kilik told them the rules of the battle, and looked to the Charmander he was about to face. He'd never actually seen her in battle, nor was he aware of how much, if any, training Kasiya had done with her, and he gulped a little, hoping that at the very least, Pan had the edge in both speed and battle experience. "Worst case scenario, Pan gets taught a valuable lesson of picking your fights wisely," he muttered to himself as Kilik shouted "Go!" Pan was already crouched into an offensive stance, his tail touching the ground ever so slightly. "Quick Attack," the redhead said, and Pan was off like a rocket, using his tail to push off the ground in hopes of gaining as much speed as possible. ===== Once she was sure she'd gained at least a little bit of Mori's trust, Miharu began to introduce her other Pokemon to the young Ponyta one at a time. Aunt Maggie had given her a lengthy explanation on Mori's behavior and personality traits, and had reminded her several times on how easily the Ponyta could be spooked, and once Mori seemed even more comfortable with her she let all her Pokemon out at once. For the most part, Tingle and Starrie didn't seem to care too much about their new teammate though the Metang did do a rather nice dance for her. Lily shied away from the fire type for obvious reasons but was otherwise intrigued. Only Sparkle and Aska immediately warmed up to Mori, though Miharu figured that because Sparkle was still somewhat young as well was a factor.
Once the introductions were all finished Miharu stepped back to let the Pokemon mingle and play around on their own. It was getting close to lunch time now, and Miharu knew they'd have to head back to the center to eat for she didn't have any Pokemon food with her. Thinking about the Pokemon Center, however, got her thinking about something else, and soon she was digging through her backpack, looking for the small package she'd received from Chuck's wife. She'd been told not to open it until later and for a split second she felt guilty about forgetting it. She carefully unfolded the paper until the item was revealed, and she let out a quiet gasp of surprise. It was a disc, and a special one at that, light blue with the words "Fly" lightly engraved upon it. There was also a note tucked inside, presumably from Chuck's wife, explaining that she often gave Fly HMs to trainers who were able to best her husband in battle, and that it was an appropriate gift because the Storm Badge allowed the use of Fly outside of battle. Miharu looked over at Aska, who was busily practicing her dive attacks, and smiled.
