Kirai was already doing what he was about to ask her to do, having read and remembering what she knew on this. Closing her eyes, she said, "Go on ahead, I'll hold it open as long as it takes." She felt eyes watching them from inside the portal, waiting. Kirai promised herself she would break Salazar out in the future, if he did not manage to do it himself.

Seth looked to his companions. "Ready to go?"
"Not quite." Salazar said as he approached the portal. "You said Edward would be joining us."
Seth ran full force into Salazar and pushed him through. "I lied...Ready to go Lily?"

Tessa appeared beside Kirai, shoulders sagged, hunched in on herself. Her eyes looked hollow as she raised them to Kirai. "Ask away," she said, "and I shall assist as best I can, my friend."

"If something tries to possess me... I need you to please attempt to beat them to it." Kirai said, keeping her focus on the portal. "Please, can you do that for me, Tessa?"

"Perhaps, I could do more." Fiddling with her fingers nervously, she said, "I cannot continue to exist like this. I would give anything to no longer re-live that which haunts me." Taking Kirai's hands, she said, "I am a soul without a body and you are a body without a soul. If it were possible, what if I could fill that void? Surely with a soul, whatever is trying to possess you, would not be able to remain within."

Kirai felt sudden pains all over, knowing souls were about to try to break into her body. "Yes, please, Tessa. There is something else... I need something to complete me so I can do what I have to. My body is yours, Tessa." Just then, Kirai saw a dark shadow rushing at her, but focused even more on keeping the door open, closing her eyes, Please, we both need this! Hurry.

"You will not fade, Kirai. This body will always be yours." Squeezing her hands, Tessa vapored into smoke that curled around Kirai's body and absorbed into her. Tessa forced the dark shadow back until she felt herself fill Kirai. As a soul, perhaps the dark shadow could've overcome her, but Tessa was a phantom. Stronger from the centuries she'd lived. She would not truly fade. It was like a...partial possession. Kirai would have her body to herself, but if anyone ever thought her talking to herself was suspicious. Well, it was only Tessa. With this, she could protect Kirai too. From the demons that wanted her.

Kirai felt Tessa's soul enter and move inside of her. She could feel what Tessa felt. What before felt like an endless black hole inside of her now felt full, but not alien, almost familiar. Thank you, Tessa. Kirai kept her focus on the portal, keeping it open.

'What is the portal for?' Tessa asked. She could've probably figured it out on her own, however, it felt...rude to pry into Kirai's memories. And she'd been lost in herself the past couple of days...it was no wonder she'd missed so much. 'And you're quite welcome.'

'It is a door into the demonic relm. Seth is in there with another, they are trying to entrap Salazar there. However, I promised myself I would get Salazar out of there, if he can not get out himself.' Kirai felt like a fool for this... But she felt like a worthless fool for most the things she had done in her life, that she as a person had no value. Her posture and persona hid these personal thoughts very well, typically.

"That should do it." Seth said as he started into the cave. "Just be careful. Gaap is definitely expecting us."
Salazar followed along and sighed. "Lovely."

Meanwhile somewhere deeper in the cave Gaap stood at his throne. He was a tall creature, almost 15 foot high, with a commanding presence. He had six limbs, a tail, and a long neck which lead to a mouth of razor sharp teeth. out of the water that surrounded him, one of his minions emerged. He had a panicked look on his face.
"My lord." The water demon said to him. "Three mortals are at the cave opening. What should do we do?"
Gaap thought it over before saying. "Send a few demons to observe, eliminate if possible. I can handle the rest."

"God this is tedious." Salazar said as he sloshed through the cave. It was cold and wet, very different that what they had seen outside. "Where are we going to get to this damned thing?"
Seth just sighed and said. "Soon." He turned to Lily, studying her. "You okay?"
