Everyone who joins hasta roleplay their character smashing a pumpkin against something else in some descriptive and entertaining way. Then, 3 finalists are chosen by the heads via a strict set of guidelines based around entertainment value, humour and writing ability... Lastly, the three finalists are voted upon by the students and viola, democracy ensues!
Hell, if you still need any games for this year, steal this one razz

*cough* Well uh... I was thinking more along the lines of developing another dice-based game for it, but I guess that could work. xp
Meant pumpkin smashing as in smashing it against other people. What? Me? Violent? Noooooo... they're just pumpkins ninja domokun ...really soft... um... cooked pumpkins! That go SPLAT! Yessssss.

Okay, Ravenclaw's got something. Rather tame compared to this smashing pumpkin thing you're discussing here, but what do you expect from the bookworms? (Don't call us that to our faces, though. We're nastily intelligent bookworms, after all.)
It's...(drumroll)...a scavenger hunt!
No, Ravenclaw is not sliding back into third grade, don't worry about that. Yes, I am sure that we are quite sane.
It could be interesting. Two pictures hidden somewhere in each forum (except for the Event Forum and the White Tomb) and each participant needs to find one picture out of each. The pictures are themed toward the forum they are hidden in (Norris and Filch in the Caretaker's office, for example) and marked as being Scavenger Hunt pictures. I'll probably scatter a few small bonus-house-point icons around as well (a tiny sheild of Hogwarts tucked away somewhere in the main forum). The winner is the first person to find, quote, and post one picture from each forum in the thread. They'll have to post them all at once, though, to make sure others don't use their labor. Copy-pasting to and from a word document will help.
Entry fee: 100 gold each. Winnings: Half of the total of fees. The other half goes to Adonis to raise funds.
Sound workable?
((P.S. miss_fawcett was the only one around and helping out in the common room. I think she deserves a few house points, but as I'm the head of Ravenclaw, I don't want to award them...it could be seen as Snape-like.))

If I may interject, wouldn't offering her house points for being the only one in the house bothering to help out be counterproductive? Everyone who didn't help out would benefit just as much. It seems to me that a personal thank you note mentioning that you've noticed her efforts, perhaps with something shiny enclosed, would be much more appropriate and meaningful. Unless of course, I misunderstood your statement.
Roleplay, if you will, how it would appear in the real Hogwarts: "All you bums in Ravenclaw didn't bother lifting a single finger to help your fellow man... You should be ashamed... Though you, young one, you worked hard to put in the effort this school asks for. Raven claw... 500 points!
I dunno.. just doesn't make sense to me is all.
I do enjoy the idea of a scavenger hunt.. though should include the white tomb! Why make it easy when a mod can edit at thread that won't likely actually be read by peoples? >:3 Maybe leave out certain places though... I mean... Sticking it in the Hufflepuff common room doesn't role play well, as *technically* nobody but Huffles should be allowed to enter. Same with the prefect bathroom and what not. I digress.
There's mah two cents. Oh.. one more cent. Maybe instead of asking for a quote and the post or something, just add some text to all the pictures like "Dumbledore pie" and "Dobby has no spoons" (one for each picture, obviously) and have the players record the phrases. Makes it easier for people less familiar with html or bbs systems... and can be fun, too!

That sounds good. I'll add captions.
And yes, I see what you mean by the points. I admit, I hadn't thought of that--bit silly of me.
I was leaving the White Tomb out for respect of old threads--that's been done before in this kind of game. And I wasn't planning on using common rooms or any other "private" area. That means that the staff room in the Classrooms is also out of bounds--which could make classroom picture-hunting interesting.
Thanks for your input!

Praise should be awarded but not ponits, for the simple reason which Philbert already voiced. However you can scold your other Ravenclaws for not helping so much. The entire project is going to be seen as a House thing so it's a good thing both of you did a good job that way the House won't look bad. (at least that's how I thought it would be seen. Ever since the summer the HoH have been handling the events alone without any help from their members, and this event we wanted members to be more involved.
It's a shame that I won't be able to spend that much time in the festivities.

So uh... what's the hold up on the Beaters section for Quidditch? I have two disgruntled beaters on my team who are itchin' to play. Will their section be up soon?

Could somebody take off that "one day til fright week" part off of the Event forum? Fright Week should be at full blast now.
Also, do I need to be putting a description of the game in that one post of mine in the main thread?

Also, do I need to be putting a description of the game in that one post of mine in the main thread? I'm changing it now. The main thread and Slytherin's thread are not ready yet, so Fright Week hasn't started. Right now we'll wait until Angil lets us know what to do.
I'll post a message about the Delay in the Entrance Hall
