((Oh sorry, I thought Hashmal was finishing off the Skurrut, pleased at the, uhh... *gulp* smell of blood on her Draon armor.))
((Due to a complete and total lack of interest (zfatal, I feel so unloved... crying ) I have deleted my OoC about Perrault's voice. Plus, I had a dream last night that the voice actor died before we could hire him/her for the Mythicaa movie, so... how Perrault sounds is entirely up to you guys.))
((To zfatal: Mostly obnoxious? Why, you aren't referring to Perrault, are you? And you can't blame Raedou either; he's old. rofl Respect your elders! ))
Raedou saw the great shield, not entirely interested in the shield's true power, as he was trying to stay the gnashing jaws of a pouncing sahagin. He did, however, wish Perrault the best in protecting the caravan, and more importantly, his precious Ackune. He cleaved the attacking sahagin, only to be pounced by three more, quickly taking them out with a Ganzi Spiral.
"There is no end to these beasts!" he scowled, "Hashmal, I could use some Draon hands here!"
((Did I use that joke already?))
-----
The Alpha Beetle rammed again. And again. It was not because the mount was female, but because the Alpha Beetle's nest was nearby, where it's female had just finished laying a bouncing baby eggsack of new Horde beetles. It was only protecting it's nest. It rammed the beetle again, and then gained speed, surpassing that of the mount, slid around and stopped in front of it, blocking it's path. The Alpha Beetle's nest was most likely nearby.

(I have a Samus Aran T-shirt... I'm wearing it right now...
I've played Metroid, Metroid Prime, and Metroid Prime 3, although Metroid Prime is the only one I own. I'm still putting artifacts in the temple. Beat the Omega Pirate first try though... mrgreen )
"Get within the shield! It's keeping the beasts back!" Hashmal called back.
---
"Aaah!" Clem pulled back and his beetle froze, "Ephlas... can you please get rid of that bug?!"

((Sand piranhas... as in, the size of ordinary piranhas. They're so small, you could cleave five in half per swing. But you can't jump across them. Gha- despite my best efforts, am I truly so illiterate that my intentions aren't understood by others? This is truly an epic fail.))
Ephlas gave the upcoming alpha beetle a concerned look with a furrowed brow. "So much for conserving energy in the desert," he muttered, before clapping his hands together quickly. And powerfully.
"Lumitodann," Ephlas said simultaneously with the clap, causing a visible wave of air to pulse from his fingertips, picking his own beetle of off its feet along with the target beetle, throwing both a good ways away. Unless the alpha beetle was considerably heavier, of course, to prevent the throw.
Ephlas landed easily on his feet, although sinking somewhat in the sand, but unfazed by the impact of landing. He seemed to have no difficulty with falling or extensive gravity, at any rate.
Without vocal calling, the silvery blade of liquid metal was hovering at Ephlas' fingertips. It shimmered in the harsh sunlight, rippling slightly at the slightest breeze. The blade would be able to seep through the slightest crack in the insect's armor, through any external orifice, and kill it from the inside. All Ephlas had to do was get close.
Or he could summon Deep Magic to wipe the creature from existence, but that was a tiring and tolling effort. Ephlas gave himself a mental note to find Perrault and help make some interesting cursors.
Myrrelda hovered in the air, above the shield's influence, simply watching the show. She wouldn't speak it--no, that was a lie. She did hope that somebody other than Farfarello died, and she wouldn't hesitate to say so. If, you know, anyone cared to stop and chat in the middle of this.
However, in less than a minute or so, escape would be completely futile. Myrrelda would absolutely not carry them all away. Even though she could think of a perfectly perfect (XD) plan to get them all out of danger, Myrrelda simply didn't feel like talking at the moment.

((Ah, yes... The Omega Pirate. Kudos on your beating him first try; it took me AT LEAST 4 tries. That b*****d was tough cookies. I especially hated how the Beam Pirates would drop down and kick your a**... that was until I learned that awesome godliness that is the Ice Beam/Missile Combo (Ice Spreader, was it?) My weapon of choice, however, is the Wave Beam. Three beams of glory!))
Raedou threw his head towards the Draon and roared as he cut through yet another sahagin.
"I would, but it repels EVERYTHING on the outside!" he yelled, "You and I will just have to hold our ground as well as we can! FARFARELLO!"
He quickly shot a glare at the demon.
"Tell your girlfriend to make herself useful and aid us! We cannot hold them any-"
The Ganzi was interrupted by another pouncing sahagin, but soon regained his bearings and slayed the beast.
"I... hate... fishes..." he growled to himself, dodging another sahagin attack.

((Oh, really? When you said "they would eat what was left of the Skurrut", I was thinking velociraptors on, say... an elephant. You know, like the giant animal moaning and crying because it can't do anything about the smaller, quicker predators eating it to kingdom come? So, I was RPing as though they were about Raedou's size, which is pretty big.))
((As for the looming death and despair, I don't know why... but I always get super worried and depressed whenever you post about escape being futile or death being eminent... Is this fear for my RP character?))

O_O Bioshock is one twisted game.))

(Bioshock is. Don't kill the little sisters. Playing as a Big Daddy is awesome...
I focused on Omega... he'd kill the others on his own. I hate how he teleports. Yeah, Ice spreader. I prefer the Plasma beam. one charge shot'll dissolve things... But flamethrower just eats rockets... I wish I had the Zero Beam to unleash giant blue-white death...)
"I'm inside the shield!" Hashmal protested, "Just let the little things eat the corpse and get away!"

The Nesk skittered behind the magi, "Might I assssisst?"
Clem struggled under the packages of his supplies, "Okay... that, I was not expecting..."

((Yeah, the Plasma Beam kicks a**. What's the Zero Beam? I haven't heard of that one yet... But just you wait until you can use the Phazon Beam. *Shock turns to utter glee* It is glorious.))
((Bioshock, eh? I heard it's storyline was flawless. But the trailer was quite disturbing... BIG DADDYS (despite the name) ARE AWESOME!))
As a matter of fact, the beetle was not heavy enough to withstand such a blast. It was immediately turned over on it's side, struggling to get back up, squealing and shrieking and moving it's legs wildly in every direction. It would have been quite pathetic to watch.
-----
Raedou shook his head. He couldn't enter the shield. He knew in his heart that he wouldn't be able to hold off the sahagins much longer. Death seemed inevitable... until the Ganzi remembered his items. He pulled out a random item (since he obviously did not have time to search through his pack) and pulled out a small red and yellow pinwheel.
"My, I'm quite a lucky Ganzi!" he said as he blew on the pinwheel. A pentogram appeared around the childish plaything, and a violent gust of wind blew out in front of him, knocking any approaching sahagins far, far away. This gave him time to escape. He frantically searched through his pack for a few seconds and pulled out a second pinwheel. This one's propeller was pointed upward, however; not forward. He held it up, the sahagins savagely charging toward him, the pentogram appeared...
And whoosh!
The Ganzi launched up into the sky by a small distance, just barely enough to dodge the bites of the bloodthirsty sahagins. His little pinwheel was acting as an aerial propeller of sorts, slowly carrying him to the shield, making tiny wheezing noises due to the strain that the Ganzi's weight put on the poor little thing. It flew him just over the shield, where he landed on top of it with a loud thud, similar to the sound of one smacking against a window.
"Hashmal!" he yelled, "Get into the caravan and start driving! Perrault, keep with the caravan and protect us until we reach higher ground!"
((Yeah... He can fly.))

"YOU tell her!" Farfarello snapped back at the Ganzi. "'Cause she sure as hell doesn't listen to me!!" He glared at the she-demon flying above them.

Raedou struggled to stay on the rather slippery Athures energy shield, pawing it frantically with his furry hands.
"Sing to him!" he yelled, "He likes that!"
A brave sahagin leaped out from the sand, trying to attack Raedou from the top of the shield. It landed on the shield, but then quickly slid off and fell back into the sand.
"Hurry, Hashmal!" he called, "We have to get out of here, on the double!"

(If only I had one in Prime... Shoop Da Woop!)
"sing... ah, what songs do I know..." The Draon thought, then started a rhyme in Ancient. It had a definate beat, and it rhymed, but the translation was less than friendly. Translated, it was, "The drums call us to war, glory and death await, the fires burn, the dragons howl, and blood covers the ground! Prepare your blades, the battle begins! The enemy shall face our might! The slaughter shall commence, they have no chance! Victory will be ours!" It was the Draon Warrior's battle hymn, and when they were still around, an army singing it could be heard miles ahead... And back then, it was the worst possible song for an opposing army to hear, for it heralded a battle of no mercy.
It was also the only song Hashmal truly knew by heart other than a lullaby.
