"there a problem Danni?" he asked looking at her a second before He looked at cook. "you want to talk to him or are you just gonna look at me like a confused pup?" He chuckled before landing next to her again.

Dymetri blinked, still refusing to tear his eyes away from her. "Hm." he grunted in response, bending down to collect the plant-life he needed for his lesson. He prayed that her lips wouldn't open. For some reason, he was paranoid enough that she'd kill him on the spot if she found out all of these lives would be gone for the sake of the lesson to destroy more. Still looking at her, he raised himself. He averted his gaze for a quick second to examine the sky. It was almost nightfall. He had enough time to set up his classroom, meet Neon so she could suck him up, then teach. His lip twitched slightly. He was using a grand amount of power to keep from killing the flowers in his hand automatically. He walked towards Lin, still not able to believe that she rejected him, and leaned down to kiss her forehead. His expression was blank, dead, and his time was unfulfilled. As he turned around to exit the garden, he wondered if Neon would be able to change that.

She was surprised at how cold his lips were, but more surprised at the slight electricity she felt where his lips touched her forehead. That was different... and not entirely unpleasant.
But when he pulled away, he didn't look like the man she had spent the last few hours with. She also didn't notice that she thought of him as a man, not simply a vampire.
For some reason, when she saw him leaving, she wanted to say something. Not just leave things the way they were. It wouldn't be... polite. Yeah, polite, that was it...
Lin spoke up. "Do you think we can go to Starbucks again, sometime?" She loved that coffee.

His head turned, enough so that she was seen through the peripheral vision of his left eye. He thought about it for a moment, stopping. The breeze picked up, making his hair flow in small, loose curls. Her voice sounded.. odd. It wasn't joyous or angry or even sad. For some reason, he liked how it sounded. Yet, it's words seemed so irrelevant. He wanted her to say what she felt. What was she even feeling? He'd be able to sense something if she weren't an elf. He wanted to know if Lin still didn't approve of his kind. He wanted to know if she appreciated the knowledge he gave her. But, he needed to get to Neon and his classes. "Yes, Lin. You tell me when." He turned and began to walk towards his building, disappearing within a few steps.

Lin didn't realize it, but she was smiling softly as she heard what Dymetri said. She would get to see him again! She would get to drink that wonderful coffee again. And... maybe she'd get to hear more about his past. It fascinated her so. Hearing about when he was human made him seem more, well, human to her. But it was more than that. His past made her view him in a different light as a vampire. His being a vampire didn't seem to be the only thing that defined him now. And, she didn't quite know how to feel about that new revelation.
Before she could get much further in her thoughts, though, she heard a now-familiar voice behind her. It was a smooth, happy, louder voice. Well, compared to Lin, anyone else's voice seemed loud.
"Holy crap, Lin. Don't tell me you not only snagged a professor, but the hottest one around!"
Lin turned around quickly and her eyes widened at her fellow classmate's suggestion. "Heather! I do not appreciate your insinuation!" She could call Heather by her first name since she was a peer and a classmate. She knew her. It wasn't impolite to call her by her first name.
Heather laughed and walked closer to Lin as she watched the last traces of the professor walk away. "I'm not insinuating anything. I'm right out saying that you have made a very fine selection for your partner."
Lin's cheeks were bright red from embarrassment and indignation... plus something else she was feeling that she wasn't quite familiar with. "I... that is not..." For the first time in her life, Lin was stuttering.
"I... I am not partnered with anyone, let alone an instructor! That would be entirely inappropriate! He was simply treating me to coffee because... because... well, I was rude to him earlier and I believe he wanted to clear matters up and make a new start."
Heather arched her eyebrow at Lin and smirked. "So you mean, he's free? Completely on the market? Very good to know. My next class is with him. You know I'm not that into dark magic, but he is teaching a class about herbs that can inflict damage to others. I think it would be good to know about those so that I can make better potions to guard against them."
Heather was a fellow student focusing in medicine. Most of her classes that day had been with Lin. They had become good... acquaintances.
Lin's eyes widened at what Heather said. She tried to ignore the part about the harmful herbs and focused on what she was implying. "You cannot be entertaining the idea of... approaching him in such an improper and illegal manner!"
Heather scoffed. "Oh I am going to approach him alright. And from what I've heard around school, from everything the students have managed to dig up on him, he is so not one to let his title get in the way of getting with a student. See you later Lin. I must go to class."
Heather winked at her and followed Dymetri's path as she walked to her class.
Lin was left standing there, staring after her in shock. Surely she must have been informed incorrectly. She had to have been given wrong information. Dymetri was too... he wouldn't... he was far too...
The only thing that now echoed in her mind was , "He's a vampire. Of course he would."
She sighed in frustration and resumed picking herbs for her homework, trying her best to ignore the voice in her head.

Maggie flitted around the courtyard of the school, holding a watering can and generously watering several of the plants, especially a group of herbs off to the side that she noticed students liked to flock to, to pick plants for homework. And of course, I, being the kind and generous soul that I am, she thought to herself, smirking lightly, am helping to prevent my peers from failing. Or at least, being mauled by rabid squirrels. Her green hair, elaborately set, bobbed in the wind, and the little bells tied to her clothes and pinned in her hair jingled merrily. As fairies customarily went, she was barefoot, although she was beginning to regret that decision. The seasons were not like her old home, it was much colder, much earlier here. Still, she didn't let that dampen her spirits as she went around, humming 'Glory Glory Hallelujah' and watering plants. Delicately, she leaned over a lone elf, pouring water right by the girl's left ear, onto some ferns below.

Lin had sensed another presence in the garden before the water had been poured right next to her ear. She also sensed a very strong white magic aura coming from her. One she hadn't felt here in the West yet.
She gasped slightly as she turned around and saw a fairy before her. She stood up quickly, smiling brightly. She curtsied politely and warmly to her. "Oh hello! It is so nice to meet you! You are a fairy, correct? I did not know any lived around here. We work closely with them back at my home in the East, but I have not seen any here. It is a great pleasure to meet you."

Maggie just blew a strand of hair out of her face, and dismissed the elf with a wave of her hand. "Oh please, I'm just a fairy. And I'm just watering plants." But the watering can disappeared in a puff of smoke. Maggie stood up and bowed deeply, the top of her head brushing against the short grass. "Actually, didn't you see me in one of your classes earlier?" she asked when she came back up.

Lin shook her head with a confused look on her face. "No, I did not see you in any of my classes. I'm sure I would have at least sensed your presence."

Maggie blinked. "You didn't? But I was right outside the... Oh, duh! I skipped all my classes this morning!" She triumphantly smalled her fist into her palm. "And then I found that boy who tripped me this morning and slipped a Venus Flytrap into his dorm!" Maggie grabbed Lin's hand in a firm grip and shook it. "Thanks! You're really good at this whole 'remembering stuff' gig." Laughing, Maggie let go of Lin's hand and spun around. "Sooooo, I'm Maggie."

Lin's eyes widened so largely. "You... You're okay with missing classes?! But it was the first day of classes today! Shouldn't you be more concerned?"

Danni shook her head, running an agitated hand through her hair. "No, sorry...I'll talk to him later...when there's less people around and the work is done...I'm going to the garden...It's nice there." She said, and without another word was making her way there. She almost turned around, though, when she saw two girls holding a conversation there. One of them was the girl who'd made her speech against dark magic users...Oh, this was just great. Well, she had every right to be here, and wasn't about to back off just because some...less than savory people also happened to be where she was headed.
But still she just stared at the two girls as they talked. Why was it, she thought, she could never seem to form even those most basic of friendships? Her last female friend had been Lia, before she'd started black magic...that had been ten years ago...God, that was pathetic. But she was strangely entranced by the other two, and didn't bother to hide the fact that she was there, and staring as well for that matter. So what if they thought she was a creep? Wouldn't be the first time...

"Why not? Nothing important happens the first day of classes. Ever." Maggie stopped spinning, then waved at the odd girl staring at them from afar. "YO!!! WHATS UP???" Maggie was very, very, loud, her hair bobbing with the movements of her head.

This fairy was quite... different from those back home. The elves worked alongside fairies to commune with nature and help things grow. The elves talked with nature, seeing what ailments they had while the fairies used their powers to help cure them. The elves could also help individual plants, but not a large group of them. That's where fairies were very helpful and useful.
Lin was brought out of her thoughts when Maggie addressed the presence that Lin had felt awhile ago. Lin also turned and noticed it was the girl she had seen in the hallway earlier. She nodded politely. "Hello."

Danni laughed aloud at Maffie's greeting, but sobered quickly at Lin Yin's polite tone. "Hey," She said, then added, "Don't mind me, I'm just a busybody. Go on back to talking, pretend I'm not here." She said, fully expecting for them to do just that. It's what everyone else always did, usually without having her tell them to first, though.
