"I wasn't aware he was missing," the vampire lord replied. "Or that he existed at all, for that matter."
"We sort of just bumped into each other," Hotstreak added, even though it was still entirely his fault. "So, you missed me so much you had to run all the way here, huh?"
Jack laughed wither her. "Hey, a couple of years ago, that would have been a huge accomplishment from me!" he replied, followed by a bit more laughter. Ah, so he was right about there being another vampire. Well, half-right, at any rate. Then, he smirked. "You should have been here last time. I know a girl who kissed a talking cat. I will never let her forget that, by the way."
((Grye's kinda lucky he's not on when I brought this up... >.>))

[even though i wasn't apart of that rp, i strangely remember reading that post. xp lol]
Hitomi blinked at Kain and shrugged gently. "Well uh..now you know." She said as she sweatdropped lightly, rubbing the back of her neck slightly before she heard Hotstreak's next comment. She could feel her face heat up slightly, but no pink hue was emitted onto her cheeks. "Keep dreamin'. I only rushed out here 'cause Gear warned me of you and the damage you could cause. So I made sure you didn't start a catastrophe of some kind..." She said simply, it being half the reason why she chased after him.
Rosette couldn't help but begin to laugh hysterically, holding onto her sides as she did so. "No way! That's hilarious!" She exclaimed as she wiped the literal tears from her eyes that you can sometimes get from laughing too hard. She then sighed as she tried to calm herself down, nodding to him only slightly. "A talking cat though? What made her do it?" She asked the elder Jack, wanting an answer to that question badly now.

It became apparent to Kain that his little joke had flown completely over Hitomi's head. Oh well. One wasted bit of humor was nothing to get worked up about.
At the mention of the "superhero," Hotstreak could only roll his eyes in exasperation. "I don't even have my powers completely back, yet. Right now, I can't get any more deadly than a lighter," he replied. "'Sides, it's not like I go on random, crazy rampages on a daily basis," he added, sarcastically.
"Hotstreak! There you are!" Gear shouted, flying over. "What do you think you're doing in that alley!?"
"You almost sound like you're my mother, or something!"
"Why does your mom have to go hunting for you in alleys!?"
The redhead actually slapped a palm to his face. "Somebody shoot that guy..."

Hitomi narrowed her eyes at him only slightly as she placed her hands firmly on her hips, hanging and shaking her head only slightly. "Oh you boys..." She whispered to herself before looking up at Gear, blinking only slightly. "And sorry to have to say this Gear, but he kind of made a point earlier. He isn't as bad a guy as you led me to believe...I think?" She began before she remembered overhearing Rosette's conversation with the spandex-clad teenager, tapping a finger to her chin now. "Well, he doesn't seem dangerous at least...since he still hasn't gotten all his powers back yet."

And I just now realized I never put in a reply from Jack. sweatdrop ))
"Well, the thing was kinda like her pet," Jack began, scratching at the back of his head a bit. "And he got hurt. Bad. The thing had had a crush on her pretty much since they met, and with a little urging from one of the guys (kinda wrong if you ask me), she gave the cat a kiss; right on the lips. Even if it was to save the thing's life, it still makes me laugh..."
"You don't know him like I do," Gear replied, shaking his head.
"And just how do you know me, huh?" Hotstreak challenged. "You talk like you've known me longer than just after I got a name change."
"Wh-what? N-no, of course not!" Gear stuttered. He didn't want to give Hotstreak anything that might reveal who was under the mask.

Rosette pictured the event in her mind and couldn't help but feel a tad weirded out by the whole situation. "Wow uh...that's one desperate cat, I guess..." She muttered, unsure of how to even react to a story like that.
Hitomi felt her brow quirk slightly as she walked right up to Hotstreak without a moment's hesitation. "Shut up." She hissed as she stood tall right in front of him. Since of their slight height difference, she was basically as high on him as to his neck, but she could still hold her own against him. "You're really starting to tick me off," She began as she poked him in the chest. "Stop trying to pick a fight with everyone Hotstreak! It's really stupid and annoying of you!"

"Yeah, it's pretty creepy..." Jack replied, with a nod. "Personally, I'd have let the animal die. I have standards," he joked.
Hotstreak frowned, wondering why this girl was suddenly so combative. "How is my arguing with anybody any of your business?" he asked. "Last I checked, you aren't my keeper!"
"Cool it, Hotstreak," the costumed teen warned, "Or I'll-"
"I so don't need this right now," the redhead interrupted, turning and walking away from the three.
"Where do you think you're going!?" the young super genius demanded, flying after him.
"Stop following me!"
Throughout the whole event, Kain had kept to himself. "An interesting young man, to say the least," he commented.

"How's you and Nina anyway? On the boat you seemed to be cooperating just fine..." Rosette said with a smile to the elder albino, herself not knowing of Nina's condition because she arrived to Quasar well after the young witch had gone home.
Hitomi glanced back at Kain and smiled lightly. "You have no idea." She said with a slight shrug and a giggle before she chased after them for a moment. "Gear! Cool it! As for you Hotstreak, you just need to stop being so thick-headed all the time, okay?" She said, not trying to be combative now, just trying to be nice. She placed her hand gingerly on his forearm for a moment as she smiled lightly, trying to show her sincerity.

"We're cool..." Jack replied, rubbing at the back of his neck. He and Nina hadn't discussed sharing their news, and he wasn't sure if she wanted any of the others to know just yet. "She's doin' loads better, now."
"You're telling me to cool it?" Gear asked, sounding shocked.
Hotstreak gave her a confused look. Just a second ago he though she was going to use that power of hers again to slam him into a wall, or something, and now she sounded... sweet. Not even Talon or Aqua Maria had gone through that extreme a mood swing! Instead of commenting on that, however, he asked, "Are you two gonna keep following me like a couple of baby ducks?"

Hitomi glanced back at Gear for a moment, just staring at him blankly now. "Yes, I'm telling you to cool it. You keep spazzing out too much." She then looked back at Hotstreak. "What? You don't like the company of people around you or something?" She asked him.

Jack couldn't help but smile back. "Yeah. Turns out, we were both missing each other like hell..." he replied. Hell, even right now he missed her. Where'd she go off to, anyways...? He hoped she was alright...
"Well, excuse me for being a little uptight around a guy who's tried to kill me!" Gear replied. Really, he'd been just about to apprehend Hotstreak for the police again, for setting fire to an apartment complex, and this girl was acting as though he were just some guy!
"I'm not really used to hanging out with you 'good guys,'" Hotstreak replied, ignoring Gear. He'd never really tried to kill him, though. Rough him up a bit, yeah. Stop him from arresting him, definitely. Kill him? Nah. Sure, a few of their fights possibly could have turned deadly, if Gear couldn't dodge, but he could, so what was the big deal? "You kinda tend to pitch a fit when I decide to take things without asking."
