Baldr's eyes would only widen at the mention of Inferno before taking a more disgusted look. "Inferno...." Baldr would only think back to all he's learned and shake his head. "If you do not trust Roy to take up Hell you are the only other person I feel is worthy of the position, at least until I finish the last mission that Kikyo gave me." Baldr knew he couldn't tell Kestral of his mission and the information he had found out, at least not until he decided to take over as Hell's commanding officer. "Speaking of my mission. It's due to my mission and the danger Hell is in that I came to ask you a favor. Do you think that you could craft me a formidable weapon? I've seen, and felt, what your Half Blood is capable of and will probably need the help of weapons such as those here soon." Honestly this wasn't the way that Baldr had wanted to ask Kestral about the weapons, but now was the best time to fit it into the conversation.

"I never said that Roy wasn't fit to rule, I simply don't know that I would trust him with complete command over Hell's Army. It's a huge responsibility. One that I doubt myself to take up. If there is any chance of my ruling in Hell, however temporary, I will need to prepare myself through intense meditation." Kestral said, shifting his body around on the rock slightly.

"I don't know what it is that this mission entails, but... I won't ask you to divulge any information about it. As far as the weapon is concerned, I only need to know what powers you wish it to possess and what you will need it for. No details, just an answer is necessary." Kestral said, resting his chin on his fist.

"I see where your coming from with your doubt of Roy and it's going to be hard to track him down as it is. I am trying to gather all of Hell's strongest fighters so we can all discuss this and see what the majority thinks." Looking up at the sky ideas began to roll through his mind for the weapon, but not very many would come to him. "All I've ever known is my own steel, and now my Golden Lightning of course, so I think I need a weapon that would add some elements to my arsenal. I've always been fascinated by Light, Darkness, Ice and Water. So any of those or all of them if possible would be a nice addition. As for material, I need something strong that won't break easily if at all." Baldr was glad that Kestral was willing to help him, and knew that he had made the right decision to seek aid from him.

"Once the weapon is finished would you return to Hell with me? Only until a proper discussion has been held to see who should step up as the next ruler? If someone isn't chosen soon, I fear Hell may fall to the simple chaos that is bound to engulf is and civil conflict if we don't. Cruxis or Heaven may not get the chance to destroy it if we lack a leader much longer." Baldr knew many warriors in Hell held both him and Kestral in high regard, as they did for them and knew that if they all came together a proper leader would be chosen.

"As far as the weapon is concerned, I can make it do virtually anything. Well, Vayne can. And then Gizan, the man who brought you to me, can craft any metal into the most exquisite form and detail any demon could ever desire. I think that he has been working on a project as it is, a suit of armor that would be able to fight and act as a separate individual if need be. You will have to speak with him if such a weapon would intrigue you. Vayne will give whatever weapon you want a soul, and elemental awareness. I am simply the one who commissions them to do the work. Since you are a great ally of mine, I will charge you very little for such a weapon. The price will be figured once it is completed to your liking." Kestral said, smiling a bit as his love of weaponcraft was kindled.

"I'll go with you to the mainland. (My island is in Hell, several hundred miles off the western coast of the mainland.) But it will be several days and nights until the weapon is finished. During that time, I will be meditating and holding council. You will be my guest so long as you stay on the island, and you may join me at any time during your stay. I only ask that you do not cause any trouble with my tribesmen. Now, go speak with Gizan about the weapon, he should be in his shop. You should be able to find it easily enough, due to the smell of burning iron."

After Kestral was finished speaking he stood up from the rock, then walked back towards the cliff overlooking the water which crashed against the jagged rocks at the bottom.

Baldr would only stand there and listen to all Kestral had to say before giving him nothing more than a small nod. "Then I guess I will go talk to Gizan. Once I have finished talking to him I'll come and find you and let you know. If he doesn't beat me here with that vortex of his." Letting out a small chuckle Baldr would turn away from the northern cliffs of the island and head down the path heading to the village.

It wasn't a long walk by any means, far shorter than some of the walks you'd have to make on the mainland of Hell. Once he made it to the town he say many more people rushing around and was glad that somewhere was still safe and happy. Seems like Cruxis hasn't come here yet, and I'll do my most to keep them away from here. It wasn't long until the smell of burning iron flooded his nostrils. Baldr would turn towards the smell and see Gizan working away. Taking his time Baldr would slowly walk up to the shop gazing around at some of the completed weapons that only needed Vayne's touch to bring them to life. "Hey Gizan, I came here to talk to you about that weapon." Baldr's tone was light hearted and it would make it seem as if he was one of the tribesmen here. He had quickly adjusted and felt like he was at home here.

"Hey you damned kids!!! No touching those, they'll burn your fingers off!" yelled Gizan at several silver haired and eyed preteens dressed in the elaborate tribal attire of the Kurai. They had been attempting to grab several ornate mythril knives which were hot off of the furnace.. It was about one in the afternoon and Hell's sun beat down through the thickly woven straw roof. The hole in the center where the support for the shop was revealed a beam of light which shined down magnificently upon the smelting pool in which Gizan dipped his creations. The oddly shaped furnace sat on the left of the smelting pool and the equally odd cooling storage sat on the right. Gizan held his right hand up and shoved his aged, thick leather blacksmith's glove on it. He then proceeded to grab the still steaming orange daggers with gentle hands and stuck them on four wall mounted holsters to cool off. Gizan had made the knives in about thirty minutes apiece and their craftsmanship and beautiful detail were unparallelled. Gizan laughed a bit as he wished he still had an excuse to be as youthful and innocent as the children he scolded so fervently. Business was slow today, though he was paid by the Temple on a salary, he still liked his commisions. He cocked his head back and to the right a bit at the sight of several of the larger Kurai, some of which he had recieved trouble at his shop from before. As soon as they had passed by with nothing more than a look in his direction, he let out a slight sigh of relief.

As soon as they had rounded the corner, a cloaked man came from the opposite direction approaching Gizan's shop directly. As the man walked underneath the roof of the shop, the darkness of his cloak was less contrasting and he recognized him as Baldr. A smile crept upon his face as he had taken a liking to their guest. Baldr was looking around at the hundreds of different blades, maces, spears, daggers, shields, gauntlets, boots, helmets, and other battle attire which adorned the shelves, racks, walls and display cases in Gizan's shop. Hundreds of different metals, some exotic, some earthborn, some hellborn, some even heavenborn. As far as Gizan was aware, he had crafted a legendary weapon out of every metal known to man, demon, and angel. He would allow him to keep looking before he stole his attention. In truth, Gizan loved it when anyone truly admired his work. Nobody in any realm could truly match his craftsmanship, he had been born with the hands of a legendary forger.

To Gizan's surprise, Baldr was the first to speak. But when he spoke of a weapon, Gizan was left in a rather confused state.

"Hey, glad to see you're making yourself at home here my friend." He said, dodging his question for a moment. "You'll have to be a bit more specific than that, in case you haven't noticed, I have nearly two thousand different works surrounding you. Which one are you interested in? Or are you here for a custom work?"

"Actually Kestral told me you had been working on something special. An armor capable of acting on it's own if needed. It immediately caught my interest the moment I heard of it." A small sliver of metal creeped into Baldr left hand slowly taking the shape a figure clad in armor. The figure slowly separated into two different beings. One kept the shape of the armor while the other resembled Baldr himself. "I often get in over my head and having a helping hand that I don't have to control myself would help me more than any blade ever could. When it comes to striking tools, I can replicate any I have seen perfectly. Minus any special abilities they hold of course. I don't hold that type of power."

The miniature armor looking figure would float to his right hand before the two figurines slowly began to grow and change shape as well as color. It took only a moment before the two figurines had become perfect replica's of Kestral's Half Blood. "As you can see striking tools, come naturally to me. Their shape and their appearance usually lack what your fine works of art hold, but they do their job." Holding the two weapons together, they would begin to shift and morph into another new weapon. This was Baldr's most used weapon in a fight and possibly his only true work of art. It was a greatsword that matched him perfectly. "So do you think you might be able to tell me a little more about that suit of armor I heard about from Kestral?"
PostPosted: Sun Sep 13, 2009 11:53 pm

"Hmm... I've been waiting for someone to ask about the armor. I came across a very rare artifact a couple of years ago. A strange, silvery shield nearly twice the size of you with several enormous cracks in it was jutting out of the ground in some ruins that I was searching for orichalcum in. Well I took a look at it and as soon as I touched the shield, it began to warp and hum and shift. It condensed into a chunk just a bit bigger than my torso of ore. I had never seen such a thing in my life, and I transported it back to the island for Kestral, Vayne and Ruzylle to study with me. We came to the conclusion that the shield I had seen was a relic of the long dead giant warrior-god, Aegis. The metal itself we have referred to as Aegis as well. From what I have gathered, the metal is borderline indestructible, incredibly malleable, and has an extremely high enchantment potency. It is like nothing I have ever encountered before. So, with Kestral's consent, I began crafting it into a single compact gauntlet and pauldron. Do not be mislead though, it is a very special armor that can spread across your entire body if need be and even separate from you. It has no soul as of yet, no enchantment other than it's own properties, as remarkable as they are, and luckily for you no owner."
Gizan said, as he retold the story, he was busy unlocking the doors to the back of his cooling storage.

He beckoned for Baldr to follow. Baldr would likely notice that the storage was much larger than it appeared from the outside, and all of the hundreds of weapons and armor pieces that lined the expansive walls were covered in a light frost. Gizan finally finally unlocked the back vault of his storage, where he kept his most prized of his possessions. It appeared to be a passageway. Gizan had built the storage against the nearby mountain so that it looked as though all that was in it was what could at first be seen. But the back room was just as large as the front.

It was warmer in the back, about room temperature. Torches glowed on he walls as Gizan passed them, revealing even more exquisite works of weaponry than Gizan had outside. If anyone had thought that his best work was on display in the shop's front, their assumption would be sorely mistaken. The weapons and armor in the back room were far less numerous, but at least ten times as luxurious and captivating. There were only about twenty pieces in the room, and at the very center, a pedestal sat. Upon it rested a gauntlet and pauldron connected by a leather strap. The engravings upon the armor were so ornate and unique that Gizan almost forgot himself for a moment.

"There it is. It's not quite finished yet... But I'll be damned if it isn't a beautiful piece." Gizan said, wiping a small tear from his eye.

Baldr would follow behind Gizan, the sword still in his hand forgotten for the moment. The demon's eyes were darting from piece to piece even before the vault was opened up. Once in the vault his eyes would immediately fall upon the gauntlet and pauldron. His entire thought process was completely thrown into whack and his sword would just fade away. "It's even more beautiful than I had originally thought it would be. The works you have on display outside don't do your craftsmanship justice when held next to this."

The demon would slowly begin to circle the gauntlet and pauldron his eyes scanning every last detail there was too it. After a few moments Baldr would stop circling it and turn to face Gizan. "I would be honored if you would allow me to wield such a weapon." He couldn't think of anything else to say, no other words or thoughts could come to his mind. The weapon had completely shocked and in awe of the weapon itself.

"Well, if I kept these outside, I'd likely be robbed blind in no time. Sure the ones out there are worth several thousand gold apiece but I don't miss them too much when people steal them. It makes little difference to me and they leave feeling accomplished. Nobody gets hurt. But if they stole these, I'd be out of business and would lose an incredible amount of money from the commissions. Nothing in here is worth less than thirty million gold pieces. That's why I keep it behind an enchanted vault door." He said matter-of-factly.

"Alright then. It will take us a few days for me to finish it, shine it and set it. Then we will have to have a soul put into the armor, and it will have to be enchanted by Kestral and Ruzylle in the temple. Then we will see how you like it and make any adjustments from there. Sound good to you?" Gizan said as he pulled a slip of parchment from out of his coat pocket.

"That sounds fine to me." Baldr took note of the parchment the Gizan pulled from his coat pocket but wasn't sure what it was for. "I guess I'll get out of your way and let you work then." With that Baldr would turn and begin to head out of the vault.

((Don't worry about it, now that you've got what you wanted done, it's my job to guide the RP. At this point, you can do whatever just don't leave the island. Post some time lapsing miscellany. You have five days left on Kurai Island. Pal around with the locals, hit the bar, meditate, practice your moves (the island has a mystical energy to it that makes you much more in tune with your powers), etc. Do whatever you want and I'll post some responses and updates on the progress of the armor.))

Gizan wrote down the rest of what needed to be done on the parchment as he watched Baldr leave the vault. It would be getting close to sundown by the time he finished dis-spelling the enchantments placed around the armor so that he could continue working on it.

"Alright, I still need to etch the embeddings for the enchantments, line out and sharpen the edges for aerodynamics... and then I have to shape off that dinged finger segment and readjust it. Then it's heating and finally cooling. This could take a few days. Hope he doesn't mind waiting.

((Alright.))

Baldr wasn't the least bit tired and decided to practice a bit more with his Golden Lightning on the beach where he first met Gizan. Making his way through the almost empty streets of the town, Baldr would slowly make his way to his destination. The wind was blowing through his short silver hair keeping it out of the way of his crystal blue eyes.

Upon reaching the beach Baldr's cloak would burst into thousand of steel dust particles in the air around him. Immediately his Golden Lightning would spark and create a web around him using the steel dust as connecting points. It was a massive and intricate web of Golden Lightning surging around him. The steel dust would quickly fly towards a palm tree near the edge of the water. The Golden Lightning would easily slice through the tree causing it to wither as it did so.

Just as I thought, my Golden Lightning has become far more potent since the tournament. It's actually capable of slicing through objects now if it's focused enough. But if it's focused too far it will cause electrolysis to occur before hand. That might be one hell of a double whammy though. An explosion following behind beams of lightning capable of slicing through the opponent.

Baldr hadn't done much but he would sit down on a nearby rock anyway and begin to think about possibilities with his lightning. He already knew that it could disable an opponent and destroy them spiritually as well.

Kestral sat in the nearly empty main chamber of the Kurai Temple. The chamber was used for many different purposes, and could transform itself to suit any of those needs, but at the moment the enormous room was entirely barren. Not even a candle to light it's far spaced, cylinder-bevelled walls. The only light in the entire chamber was from Kestral's own body. His aura was blazing as powerfully as it had ever done. The silver light flooded the room but stopped short just a few feet from the walls, giving the room an endless feel to it. Images seemed to be fading and whirling in and out of the aura, scenes of battles, dragons flying, swords clashing, fires burning, all pulsed in Kestral's aura. It was his subconscience manifesting itself. His subdued past, his nervous reproach of the possible future. He was meditating to ask his divines what he should do about Hell's sudden breakdown. Roy was unable to keep track of Kikyo in order to protect her. Most of the other warriors of Hell would be easy prey for treachery and Heaven's Army. But Kestral was at least qualified, he had the right influences and more than enough power to lead an army of demons. But he could not leave behind his home, his life was on Kurai Island, and always would be. His duties on the mainland would no doubt leave him without much time for his duties on the island.

"Damn it to Hell..." He shouted.

Balder's mind had wandered from thoughts of training to other thoughts by now. Damn it Kikyo! First you send me on this damned mission then you disappear or even worse die! What about Hell? What about all of us that fought for you?! I had challenged you for the throne and you didn't accept, and now look what happens. Hell is falling apart and one of the strongest warriors you have is stuck behind enemy lines. What's going to happen to us now?

Baldr would stand up and punch the rock he had been sitting on crushing it and sending Baldr high up into the air. His wings would quickly sprout his wings and just float there in the sky, the wind blowing over him. Slowly but surly calming the demon down.
