"Not to be rude, but my business with Kestral is between me and him. But I can tell you this much, it's nothing more than a friendly request to an old ally." Baldr hated the fact he was going to someone else for help in getting stronger, if even by only a little bit. He knew he needed a weapon all his own and he knew Kestral was the best craftsman there was. So it was only obvious that he would choose to go to him.

Gizan smiled as he glared at the stranger's body language.

"You're looking to make a new weapon aren't you?" Gizan said with the same smirk on his face, "Sorry, I'm no mindreader I assure you. But by your hand twitching toward your sheathe... It appears that this is what your business here pertains to. If so... Kestral isn't the person you're really here to see, whether you realize it or not."

With that, Gizan flourished his scythe once more and strapped it to his back with the open clasps attached to his back strap.

"Your right I'm here looking for a weapon, but if Kestral isn't the person I should be looking for. Then who is?" Baldr knew nothing of this island or anyone on it other than Kestral. Kestral also happened to be the only person with weapons that he has seen that he was actually intruiged by so it was only natural that he seek him out.

"Yes, well... Kestral has never crafted a weapon in his life. He works to have weapons made. I make the weapons on Kurai Island and my good friend Vayne gives them souls using elemental soul gems. In fact, we are the two men responsible for his famous blade, Half-Blood. I crafted it about twelve years ago to aid Kestral in his search for the man who murdered his parents. With Kestral's approval, I could craft a magnificent weapon for you as soon as possible for a nominal fee, assuming you are an ally of the Kurai." Gizan said, then held out his hand for the man to shake.

"Gizan by the way, master of custom legendary weaponcraft."

"So your the one responsible for those weapons of his." Letting out a small chuckle Baldr would only smile. "Those things are very well crafted, to say the least." Extending his hand Baldr would firmly grasp Gizan's hand for the hand shake. A weak grip would probably only make Gizan think he wasn't worthy of a weapon, while to forceful would make him think Baldr was dangerous.

"The names Baldr, soul survivor of the Steel Demons." Baldr really didn't have a title, so that seemed the only way to properly introduce himself to the man.

"Baldr, eh? Nice to meet you. Come to think of it, I believe I remember Kestral talking about you over the past few years." Gizan said, releasing his grip of Baldr's hand.

"If I remember correctly, he fought you once in Inferno's Tournament and again in the semi-finals. I watched the semi-final match myself, you fought bravely against his Ultima Energy. And then you two teamed up in the final match of the second Tournament, right?" Gizan asked with a hint of pride.

A small smile would spread over his face as he began to think back over the two tournaments that he and Kestral had participated in. "Yes that's right I have fought both against him and along side of him in the tournaments. That is why I choose to seek Kestral out over all others out there." Baldr knew he also needed to tell Kestral about the current events in Hell which is really why he needed a new weapon. Hell has been weakened and most of the fighters have long disappeared.

With the winds howling through the icy peaks nothing alive could distinguish the small click of the lighter he was now putting up to a cigarette. Soon after pocketing the metal device he puffed on the newly burning cigarette...deep in thought, "Nothing...not a damned thing...."

Blood was standing on one of the hundreds of mountain peaks strewn across this part of of the land, but this one in particular was next to a gigantic snow drift that connected to another peak directly across from it. He was maintaining a very small layer of warm molecules a couple centimeters off the surface of his skin, and the signature traveling cloak he always wore to stay warm in these frigid temperatures. Nothing survived out here...and that's exactly how he liked it, alone.

Gizan also smiled as he took a step towards Baldr.

"Well, if you need to see Kestral that badly..." He said as he approached. Wind seemed to be gently whipping in his clothing, though strangely, the trees remained perfectly still. In the short time that it took for Gizan to reach Baldr, the wind had evolved from a light gust to a full force storm. He put a single hand on Baldr's shoulder. Now Baldr was being enveloped by the same wind, it would feel as though he couldn't breathe, like being trapped in a vortex. Of course he could, if he attempted to.

"Let us not waste any more time." Gizan said, and with that, the two warriors distorted for a moment, twisting rapidly. After only a second, they disappeared completely. Their footprints still embedded in the soft white sands of the mid-day beach.

((I'm not sure if you've ever played Final Fantasy X, but Kurai Island is set up a lot like Besaid Island from the beginning of FFX. It's exactly the way I have everything set up in my mind.))

Kestral stood sturdily with his hands in his coat pockets. He was lightly meditating, standing on the overhanging cliff towards the northernmost mountain of Kurai Island. He kept his eyes closed, focussing his energy and channeling it through the very air around him. His aura was pulsing strangely, it appeared to be eradic, but it was simply a very complex rhythm.

Several large birds passed in front of him and he opened his eyes. His arms remained still as a strange distortion leapt from his aura, expanding and enveloping the birds. As soon as the birds were caught in the peculiar energy, they began to slow the beating of their wings dramatically. In about two seconds, the birds' flapping was so slow that, unless watched closely, they almost seemed static.

"These creatures are far more simple to affect than an opponent would be, I'll have to keep training." Kestral whispered darkly to himself.

Suddenly, Gizan and a heavily cloaked man appeared via Gizan's Tempest Portal. The second man appeared to be out of breath, while Gizan looked as though he had been standing there all along. Kestral turned towards them with his eyebrow raised.

"And who might this be? I recognize his natural aura..." Kestral said, with mild interest.

Gizan chuckled knowingly.

"An old friend who's looking for help." He said, putting his fingers up to his forehead then moving them foreward.

"Have fun." Gizan said as he disappeared into another Tempest Portal.

Kestral paced lightly, waiting for the cloaked man to breathe regularly before they began conversing.

His breathing took only a few moments to go back to normal, his eyes focused on Kestral the entire time. Slowly lifting his hand up he would push the cloak out of his face as his short silver hair blew in the wind. "It's been awhile Kestral, how have you been? I haven't seen you since our match with Inferno and Sync, so I hope you have been doing well."

He wasn't going to be so direct as he would like to catch up with Kestral before asking for a favor, and before the other conversation that he needed to have with him. The two reasons he were he were directly linked to one another, he only hoped Kestral would hear him out.

Kestral chuckled as he recognized the man. As he did so, the birds behind him began to move once again, back to their full speed. Kestral had broken his concentration. He took three steps towards him, and bowed gracefully.

"Baldr, what a pleasant surprise! It's been years since I've seen you." Kestral said, then noticed Baldr's hair.

"And it doesn't look as though the years have been easy on you. You look as though you could one of my people... Haha." Kestral said with a wide grin on his face. In truth, Baldr was Kestral's greatest ally outside of his tribe, and ironically they were also rivals. Though, healthy competition is always good for friendship, at least that's what Kestral believed. He had a deep respect for Baldr ever since their semi-final match in Inferno's Tournament. Kestral had won that match, but it was only through Kestral's versatility in combat that he was able to best the warrior. He had given him his first truly exciting match.

Baldr would let out a small laugh as he ran a hand through his hair. "I guess my old age is finally catching up with me. But truth be told I like the color, it matches my steel." Taking a step towards Kestral a serious look would spread over Baldr's face. "I only wish that the reason I came here was to reminisce about old times. Something terrible has happened and I need your help."

The respect Baldr held for Kestral was great, he was one of his greatest allies and toughest rivals at the same time. It had been a long time since Baldr had encountered someone he had made a relationship like that with. Kestral had dealt him his first loss here and that spoke volumes to him. Letting out a low sigh Baldr would continue on with what he had started to say. "Kikyo is missing, or dead. I'm thinking that it's the latter of the two. All of her children have disappeared and are proclaimed dead as well. Hell is in trouble the way things stand now. We are left with no one to rule and give orders and keep things moving along. I would step up and take the lead but a mission from Kikyo prevents that. I don't know how long I'll be on this mission either."

Baldr would stop for a moment and let Kestral absorb all that he had just said, knowing that it wouldn't take him all that long to do so. That and he also figured that Kestral would have a few questions for him, and would answer those before he continued.

Kestral was not surprised to hear that Kikyo was gone once again, but her children's disappearance... This truly spurned worries and troubled questions in Kestral's stoic mind.

"... I have a few questions before you continue." Kestral said, attempting to sound collected, and succeeding. But there was no hiding that he was slightly frantic.

"First, who was the last person to see Kikyo, where was it, and how long ago?" Kestral said, holding up a finger, his closed palm facing himself.

"Second, who are the other candidates for command of Hell's Army?" He said, raising another finger.

"And lastly, how much information do we have as to her whereabouts or demise?" He added, holding up a third and final finger.

"That is hard for me to say since I have been gone for so long. I believe it was Nathan, her lover, but he too is gone."

Tilting his head back the fighters of Hell would begin to roll through his mind and only two of them seemed fit to command, at least in his opinion. "Well in my own opinion only two others are fit to lead. The first being Roy who is currently Second in Command. It's only natural that he would take control over Hell. The second would be you." As he said this he would lower his head so that his eyes would lock with Kestrals. "Your one of the strongest in Hell's Army, by far. Your smarter than most and can plan ahead."

Lowering his head to the ground he would think about everything he had seen in his limited visits to Hell once he started his mission and what he could piece together from the servants. "I'm not sure what happened, apparently she had been talking about leaving Hell and that she was dying, turning mortal. Too much stress and all. Then one day she just vanishes, no body so some people claim she's still alive while others say she died and her body blew into the wind. Of course there is a third set that thinks that Nathan killed her. Ya know, works his way close to her and then just offs her with no remorse."

It was clear in his eyes that something was troubling him, and he isn't the type that would show his weakness. "Part of me feels like it's my fault that this happened. I should have been there to advise her to leave and pick a stand in while she recovered, but instead I'm out on a mission that could very possibly kill me." He knew who it was that he was deceiving and what they were capable of. Once he leaves, they just won't leave him unchecked that much is certain.

"...So Kikyo simply vanished eh? I've been gone far too long from Hell's politics and military. Kurai Island is my home, I'm not so sure that I could ever leave my tribe to take command of Hell if I were offered the position. And the reality is... that's a possibility. Roy's neglect of Kikyo's condition is the reason he was so ill prepared for her absence. I'm not so sure I would trust him in command of Hell, he couldn't even keep a close watch over his only commanding officer." Kestral said, sitting on a nearby rock with a smooth, white surface and folding his right leg over his left knee. He pushed his hair back a bit as he explored all of the possible options.

"If only Inferno were still here..." He said, heaving a sigh.

Baldr's eyes would only widen at the mention of Inferno before taking a more disgusted look. "Inferno...." Baldr would only think back to all he's learned and shake his head. "If you do not trust Roy to take up Hell you are the only other person I feel is worthy of the position, at least until I finish the last mission that Kikyo gave me." Baldr knew he couldn't tell Kestral of his mission and the information he had found out, at least not until he decided to take over as Hell's commanding officer. "Speaking of my mission. It's due to my mission and the danger Hell is in that I came to ask you a favor. Do you think that you could craft me a formidable weapon? I've seen, and felt, what your Half Blood is capable of and will probably need the help of weapons such as those here soon." Honestly this wasn't the way that Baldr had wanted to ask Kestral about the weapons, but now was the best time to fit it into the conversation.
