(Pardon me for taking over your doctors for a bit Lina, but it'll save us a bit of time and posts.)

Othello walked quickly up to the infirmary in hopes of getting to Salen before any useful memories were lost. The doctors didn't take well to the sudden intrusion, but Othello shooed them away with a piercing gaze amplified by the extra powers Ashra had bestowed upon him.

"I need to talk to him. In private if you don't mind. This is a matter concerning Moneko. If you're worried about his health, I assure you I am qualified enough to keep him stable."

The doctors quickly did as they were told and left Othello to the charge. He leaned over Salen resting in the gurney and looked straight into his eyes, his face still a good three feet away so as to not alarm him. He rested a hand on Salen's shoulder before continuing.

"Salen, you have just recovered from Ashra's curse, and you must also realize what you have done or attempted to do while under the spell. Please, help yourself by helping us figure out exactly what happened."

(And I'm done for the night... Got a final in my class and I need sleep...)

Karrot looked down at the hand for a moment before looking back at the man."Don't be in my debt, I prefer to keep myself clear of any situations like that. I'm just doing what needs to be done."

[Don't apologize, they aren't claimed by me^^ Use them as you wish 3nodding ]

Salen slowly looked up at the sound of Othello's voice, his dark brown eyes moving to meet his. He was much paler than usual, even with the blood being sent into him from an IV nearby. He listened to him speak for a moment, his hands moving up to his chest and settling upon the burn mark his own vampiric abilities couldn't heal.

"This is from the arrow correct?" he asked after a moment, his voice faint although stubbornly growing in strength, "The arrow Lina herself shot me with..." he stayed silent a few moments afterwards, a grim smile crossing his face as Othello's question fell into his ears.

"Help myself? No, there is nothing to help me now. The most I'll get is exile or death as most of the damned say." He closed his eyes before forcing himself to sit up, ignoring the pain in his chest as before continuing, "I may have nothing going for me, but the Lotus still have a Cause to comeplete and with my last moments as second in command, I'll give you what you need."

He raised his hands and after a few moments of effort, he finally summoned a book that seemed to be composed of black mist for once Salen touched it, the cover seemed to swirl into itself before solidifying into what seemed to be a black wooden cover. He turned the page, barely glancing at the words before stopping upon the spell he had been looking for, reading every word as he had done before and then saying, "The spell is from the ancient dark arts even most necromancers won't mess with for it is irreversable. Most of the text was very hard to translate into even the oldest language that I know, so from what we could translate, the spell was a form of giving a being a 'comple death', one that comepletely destroys it's entire existence does not even give them a ghost." Salen just stared at the pages for another moment before looking back at Othello, "The book itself apparently knew our intentions for it translated itself after a while, guiding us through the spell."

Quinn's curiosity was again getting the better of him. Keeping up guard duty, he began to examine Moneko's Tomb to see if he could decipher what damage might have been done. The energy from the Leader was still there; he could feel her presence. She had, however, obviously been weakened. Dark Magic now mixed in with the aura of Moneko, like it was fighting her. Since he had lived a long time, Quinn racked his mind for the many spells that he either knew or had heard about, trying to find one with a similar execution.

He could only think of one, but he wasn't sure that was it. So, he kept to himself. Othello was interrogating Salen, the soon to be Ex-Second-In-Command, at the moment to see what he could find out. Salen would want to do what he could, that much Quinn could tell, but he also knew that it wouldn't be enough. It was sad, really, seeing someone as talented as Salen being forced to go.

Resuming his duties as guard, Quinn moved to the door of the tomb to take a position there. The room had already been cleared, so no one would be able to get inside. Not if he could help it, at least. He cast several charms on the room to prevent magical entry and exit. So if anyone wanted into the room, they would have to do it through the door.

Othello nodded at the appropriate times, letting Salen finish his explanation.

"At least you'll be able to draw solace from reversing some of your actions, or at least the you that appeared when the curse came. If there is anything else you think might help, we could certainly use it."

His eyes narrowed to look at the book better and he grasped the top of it. The book was indeed a powerful dark arts book, and it chilled his blood and burned his hand just to touch it. He made note of the page and quickly closed it, still holding it by the top.

"Thank you for your help." Othello said simply after a moment.

Salen nodded before grasping his wrist, "Othello, I know that the spell was not completed, but I believe that the damage was done. And if our theory is correct, injuring one of them in such a way must have injured them all." he then let him go before allowing the pain to take him once again.

Meanwhile, Lina nodded and ordered two other elders to come with them and the rest to take her place as head of the Lotus until she returned. Milan shifted into her wolf form as well, walking to Lina's free side. The elders followed as she made her way to the exit.

Othello nodded solemnly. "Take care now Salen and get what rest you can. I'll take this book to Lina and explain what happened." He bowed himself away and came to the doctors.

"Do what you can for him. I'm off to see Lina now." Once again he bowed himself away and half-jogged towards the exit where he knew Lina was bound to go.

Remus softly nudged Lina's hand before moving ahead and slipping into the shadows on the side of the road. Now that they were on the hunt, the shadows were his playground.

The doctors filed in then and refilled his IV, closing his section of the Infirmary before continuing to help him heal. Salen just looked into space after that with only sentence slipping from him, "For what it is worth...I am sorry..."

Lina watched him meld into the shadows before she felt Milan's fur brushing up against her. She looked down, looking into her eyes before the sounds of foosteps made her turn, "Othello, did you find any useful information from Salen?" she asked as he came up to her.

Othello put a glove on and held up the book as he caught up with Lina.

"Yes, I did. He says they were using an ancient spell from this book meant to utterly destroy the soul it is cast upon. Luckily it was interrupted, but there is still damage done. And if their theory is correct, when one Leader is injured like that the rest could have also been harmed. The spell in its entirety is irreversible, but here's hoping for partial recovery from a partial spell. Here it is." He opened the book to the page and handed it to Lina.

Lina looked at the book before taking it with her own hands, her gaze narrowing as it burned her hands. She quickly covered her hands before touching the book once again and began to read. Her face was grave as she finished, "Thank you for the invaluable information Othello and if Salen and the other's are correc, then I believe it would be wise for a small party to check on the Ten. Othello, since you know where they are, I would like you to bring whoever you deem would be fit for the job of accompanying you. Meet us within the Rajen territory then. I hope my powersignature would be enough to guide you to our position." she then moved out of the door followed by the others.

They moved quickly through the streets, most of which were crowded with people fighting, partying or participating in all sorts of activities that would prove to be insane. As they ran she even smelled blood in the air and knew tey had to hurry. The city was going to kill itself at this rate...

Quinn had Apparated into the room where Lina and Othello were to find just Othello. Using his own personal means, he had been tracking Lina's thoughts and heard what it was that she needed done. Apparition was the fasted method of travel through the city, of course, and she he thought he might offer his help.

"We could Apparate." Quinn opened up the conversation from behind Othello, "It would get us there in an instant. And yes, I don't know their exact location, but I know well enough. One can't miss magical auras like that of the ten...not unless you've been under the Cruciatus Curse for some time."

He shifted slightly, changing weight from one leg to another. He didn't like what he had heard from Lina's mind, nor did he like what he found in Moneko's Resting Place. It was going to be very hard indeed for all the leaders to protect themselves now, and even harder to awaken the one Leader that had been missed thanks to the Sulla family.

Othello turned around slightly taken aback. His surprised look quickly turned into a small grin though as Quinn finished his speaking.

"Excellent. Your help will likely prove invaluable, especially the apparition part. But, two seems a little small for something like this... Manageable of course but small. I know little about all the leaders really... Do you know of someone else who might go with us?"
PostPosted: Tue Aug 07, 2007 9:14 pm

"Two should be plenty, Othello." Quinn replied, placing a hand on his friend's shoulder, "I've done a little bit of information collecting on the leaders, although not much. We should be okay."

Having already placed a hand on Othello's shoulder, Quinn Disapparated out of the Lotus Base and into the city. He had to be clear of the Base's power before he could successfully track the leaders. Which, it didn't take long. Several of them were grouped together, which made hunting them all down relatively easy. Two well placed Apparitions and Quinn and Othello were there in no time.

From where Quinn stood, Othello looked slightly winded. He made a mental message saying, I guess I should have warned you about that. You'll get used to it after a while.

Othello and Quinn now stood in a garden of super powers. (I can't remember who all was in the garden at the time, though. So I won't name any names. I'll just speak and let them name themselves.)

"Members of the Ten Leaders," Quinn began, "we come on behalf of Lina Asanti, Apprentice to Moneko. Something terrible has happened, and she asked us to come here to see you directly. How are you all feeling?"

I'm somewhat used to it, since I do sleep in a confined space after all... but still, warn me next time? Othello sent his message back. He quickly regained his composure and stood there silently, waiting for the leaders' replies.
