I have just received what is undoubtedly and without contestation the best piece of news I have ever heard in my entire life.
A longtime friend of mine who has had HIV since birth just received word from her doctors that her bloodwork all indicates that she is HIV negative. They performed nearly 30 tests on three different sets of equipment and everything indicates that she is HIV free.
For sake of her privacy Im omitting her name (since she requested that her doctors not contact local or national media sources), but while she is not the first person in history (there are approximately 10 other documented cases in history) to test negative for HIV after contracting the virus, she is the first female, and has tested positive the longest (her entire life, totaling 18 years), and was one of the more severe cases.
It does not take any religious compunction to call this a miracle beyond miracles, and I've been reduced to tears for the past two hours for lack of a sufficient response to this absolutely momentous occasion. I still can't believe it as I write this, but Im telling everyone I know, because every time I see it, or speak it, it becomes a little more real.
I know most of you will never speak to, or meet my friend, but I assure you she could not deserve this happiness more, and it is only fitting that her happiness, which she has spread to all those she knows and loves, is then spread to everyone I know. Today on this day, I wish you even a fraction of the happiness I feel, so that all your life might be brightened by it and that you might know some of the joy so eager to burst from my heart.

Lykus Oh god. Is this who I think this is? Yeah, she got two hand-written letters from her doctors when we got back from camping telling her that they were effectively at her beck and call so that they could examine a medical miracle. All the test results are in, she's definitely testing negative, now they're just running tests to see if they can establish why.

The Age of Genesis is an RP I'm engrossing myself in. It's in Barton Town, I know, but it's quality. In fact, the RP that brought me to this site was in Barton Town, and it lasted for many pages and was of exceedingly excellent quality. This one is also good.

She's no longer HIV positive? Soloist that's astounding! ^_^ this is genuinely the best thing I've heard all year and I don't even know this woman! I can definately understand why she'd not want the media to get a hold of this. It'd be a spectacle! Wow, I can't even imagine how she feels.

I love Shinju and the Scarlet Dawn crew to bits and all but I've looked back at it more than once and while the story was compelling, the writing was not. Far from it, it was a lot of awful half-baked garbage that most of us came up with at periods like 4AM. I look back at it fondly, but go back and reread even whats in Sleeping Dragon sometime, it'll be more than enough to keep that memory at arm's length >.> ....Oh hi everybody! I've been job hunting (and celebrating...a LOT). I'm back now! =P
