Lyra Tyr
Milan was waiting for them at the Lotus entry, her eyebrow arching at the new look of Lina's hair and clothing before moving onto the others, "There is something else that was not given to you to know," she began, "The other apprentices will be needed to open Moneko's tomb and a few chosen others who have the potential of getting such an honor. That means Lady Merlin, Tien, Kanna and Troden must be helped first before the rest can come to our aid."

Lina looked at her wearily before saying, "You said the Sulla must help?"

"Yes, well atleast the ones who were apprentices."

"Then can you tell me how we will be able to get Troden to walk into the Lotus base without trying to kill anyone?"

Milan blinked at this and sighed, "That is a good question...."
"If I might make a suggestion," The voice came before the source appeared, "You could disguise the Lotus base, or you could simply evacuate it. That would save the Lotus Members. Stopping Troden from attacking any but the Sulla that must help will still be difficult, though."

With a swift, echoing crack, a man appeared in front of the Lotus Base. His hair was still brown, but longer now, almost down to his waist. Rather than Mage Robes, he wore simple street cloths with a Traveling Cloak tied around his neck. His eyes had changed from their original brown to a bizarre looking color that resembled liquid silver, the pupils still in full view. There was also no mark to be seen on him. No Lotus, no Rajen, no mark.

"Forgive me for overhearing your plight." Even Quinn's voice had changed slightly, "But I thought I may make a suggestion while I was here."

It had only been a few weeks since Quinn had left Signet City at the will of the God of Time. He had traveled to various portions of the world where some of the greatest wizards had lived and took their secrets for his own. He even picked up a new style of magical ability and took to it like fish take to water. The spell that Ashra cast upon Signet drew Quinn's curiosity though, seeing as how large the spell was. So, he ventured back toward the city. Whether or not Kiran had followed him, he didn't really know.

It was possible that only one person in the Lotus Base would recognize Quinn at this point. That was Remus. Even Remus, though, would have a hard time realizing it was Quinn, though. He wasn't carrying his staff; he wasn't in his regular robes; the only thing that hadn't really changed was the fact that he was wearing his ring still.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lucine stirred in his sleep before sitting bolt up right rather violently. Ashra's voice was liking a mosquito in his brain: A constant, annoying, buzzing. When the spell was finally over, he woke up and looked around. Because he had been asleep and didn't understand the words he wasn't affected by the spell, but he could tell that something wasn't right. So he slid off the bed and wandered into the Rajen Base. He needed to find someone to talk to and figure out what was going on.

"Why is the base so empty?" Lucine said to himself, "Did someone go to war and not tell me? That's not very nice."

Eventually Lucine found the exit to the Rajen Base and wandered onto the streets of the city. He made mental notes as he traveled: Mental notes of landmarks, mostly, so that he could easily get back to his new, temporary, home.

To be entirely honest, he really had no idea where he was going. He had been in Signet for little over a month, now, and still only knew about a quarter of the city. He constantly got lost, then would find himself in a place that he recognized. It wasn't productive in the sense of figuring out more about the place. That day, Lucine accidentally stumbled upon an oddly placed Garden. It looked well trafficked, and so he pulled out his painting and began a work involving the garden. It was such a pretty place after all.

Slowly the dome dissovled, exposing a curled up Merlin. One eye opened and focused on Daella, not recognizing him readily, her thoughts sluggish. She lifted her head and narrowed her eyes on him. It took her a few moments before she recognized Daella. She was about to ask what was wrong with Lodael when she was interrupted. She frowned and blinked as if clearing her thoughts. The door swung open, both the office and her room door. She recognized Karrot's voice, what had he just hollered.

The cats were curled up around her and they now lifted their heads, all uncannily intelligent attention fixed on Daella.

Karrot fell inside, speaking quickly and frantically, a green aura glowing around the palm of one hand. "Lady Merlin? Are you all right? I can help, I've been given the spell to help. Are you all right!?"

Merlin watched him, "Please stop yelling." She murmered. She shifted into a sitting position, "I am fine, I protected myself." Though just barely in time. Her expression softened, a subtle shift, "Thank you for coming I think....Lodael may need that spell of yours." She nodded to the unconcious man sitting on one of her chairs near her unlit hearth.

Daella looked at Karrot strangely, his eyes narrowing slightly as the green aura appeared, "Lady Merlin, how much do you trust this one?" he asked, his grey eyes narrowing, "We both know how magic can have adverse affects upon me and my brother..." He remembered the time when a healer tried to heal Lodael with white magic and how much closer to death he had been. Ironically, the person who saved him was a woman who used sound to control her dark arts. He could still remember her golden eyes...

"Quinn!?" Remus had no trouble placing his friend because no matter how different he appeared, he couldn't mask his scent. "What the hell are you doing back here!?" He paused before adding, "And where's my cousin?"

"Now is that any way to greet an old friend?" Quinn mocked Remus, "I've been gone for a good three weeks now! Something has to have happened in between my leaving and now showing up again."

He turned to see Remus striding toward him. It may have been three weeks, but he hadn't changed at all. It didn't really surprise him.

Quinn answered the questions honestly, "Per your first question: I was half way across the world and felt a rather large, magical force blanket itself over the city. My curiosity got the better of me. Per your second question: I'm still training Kiran, but it's her chose to come back to the city. She has her own form of travel, and could get here if she wanted."

"It's plenty a good way to greet you." Remus mocked his friend back. "That disturbance is due to the eighth leader Ashra." He gave no more information.

Lina stayed silent throughout the entire conversation, her new grey eyes scanning the newcamoer until a smile graced her lips when a name was heard. He has changed... she thought as she automatically searched for the Lotus symbol, an eyebrow arching when she didn't see it. He has changed alot...

Milan stayed a few feet away, her head tilted slightly in curiousity before saying, "Do you not know who Lord Ashra is? He is the one who has placed this test upon the city as we are the ones who must pass it."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 02, 2007 11:53 pm

Remus refrained from making a comment he'd later regret about his current opinion of Ashra.

He turned and bowed to Lina, having noticed that she spent several minutes looking him over. What she was looking for, he did not know, but the least he could do was grace her with a bow. Three weeks ago the Lotus Base had been his home, after all.

"I've heard the name Ashra." Quinn answered Lina, straightening himself out and looking from her to Remus, "Child Leader, correct? One of the crazier ones, if I remember correctly."

Quinn also took note of Remus's stance. He figured that his friend really didn't like Ashra much at the moment. With a spell like that, though, he wasn't really surprised.

He looked back to Lina, "So I'm guessing that you need Troden and the Sulla Gang's help to awaken Moneko, correct?"

"What did you just say...." Milan began, but Lina was quick to speak and move infront of her before she could finish, "Yes, Ashra is the Child Leader, but he is by now means crazy. He is more...strict than anything else. You are also correct about Troden and his siblings, minus Tara. They are all apprentices to the Ten for the moment as I am, so they are needed."

Lina glanced behind her for a moment to see a quietly fuming lycan pacing behind her, "The person behind me is Ashra's guardian and apprentice Milan of the Litani clan."

Quinn's hand instinctively traveled to his pocket where his wand lay, but he retracted it when Lina interrupted Milan. He turned to her and bowed slightly, contemplating what to say. His information was faulty, that much seemed to be sure. The question was...how to reconcile.

"Milan, was it?" Quinn asked, "You'll have to forgive me. Amongst Wizards, anyone who would cast such a spell is slightly nutty. Calling him 'one of the crazier ones' was poor choice of words on my part."

He straightened back out and turned to face Lina a second time, saying, "I believe we have much to discuss. Convincing Troden to help awaken Moneko won't exactly be a simple task."

"Poor choice of words? Calling him even slightly nutty is still an insult you-" Lina sighed before looking at Remus, "Would you mind talking her please?" she asked looking into his eyes. I believe her overzealous loyalty is kicking in.

She then turned to Quinn and nodded, gesturing for him to follow her into the base, "Yes, that is our problem as well as convincing Kanna and Tien. They have been deceived by Troden into thinking that it was the Lotus that destroyed their ancestral home and not the antics of one of his allies. A Sulla's anger is not easily abated and neither will Ashra's until we Awaken Moneko. After that all hopefully will be returned to normal."

It was then that she realized her error in bringing the others within the base for she remembered a few of the elders had stayed back when they went to battle and was not set free yet. Her second in command was one of them. He was walking towards them with five other elders, all of them in hooded cloaks as they had done when the war was approaching. It was a meaningful symbol Lina had never wanted to see again. Death.
