Raidek sighed, having been able to push the voice from his thoughts in time to hear Sai speak. He looked to Jania and gave a light glare that he hoped would convey the message to keep everything between them.

“She’s a friend of mine, Jania is her name, and you heard wrong she isn’t teaching me to silent cast.” Keeping a straight face he quickly fabricated a story in his mind that held some truth, but was ultimately a lie.

“Jania was eavesdropping on our conversation in the tavern, and since her and I departed last on less-than-friendly terms. I might have reacted a little harshly to her prank she pulled in there. All she had did was say that she had dealt with silent casters before.”

Raidek looked to Jania, “Of course though, I probably should let her introduce herself.”

Raolain squinted against the bright glare of this new attack, growling under his breath as he snatched a quick look at his spell book,"mziln."

Cookie shrieked and immediately flew about in crazy nonsense patterns, making Raolain exhale in relief when the tongue misses her by millimeters. At the same instant he releases the power of his spell, feeling a bit of strength going with it, Cookie is suddenly flying crazily about with ten other fairies just like her, all screaming and pleading for Raolain to make the bad bad bad spider go away.

Without bothering to peruse his spellbook this time, Raolain instead merely pointed to the ground and chanted,"chath buat'leb." A sphere of fire blossomed where he pointed, and continued to roll about the battlefield wherever her pointed, eyes squinting faintly as he expends power to maintain the spell.

anything change where the fire touchs....attack it.>

"That you should, Raidek, my friend." Jania said putting a little bit of emphasis on the friend part. She gave him a quick glare back telling him he had ALLOT of explaining to do on why he wanted his training kept secret. hopefully no one else noticed the look or they might tell she was lying as well.

"My name is Jania Derrigosa," she said using one the last names she occasionally used to keep her really identity a secret. "A minor mage training to compete in the arena one day," She added a small bow of the head to try and sell her act. "Now Raidek, how were you planning on repaying me for your previous departure. I'd very much like to know." she said lightly as if she were trying to continue a conversation they had had before.

"Yeah, I'd say that was a bit of a harsh reaction, Raidek, especially to a friend. And, Jania, was it? That didn't sound like you were talking about other people. I distinctly heard you say 'It may be easier to train you to silent cast then I thought.'" Sai said. "So, If you two are trying to hide that fact, you may not want to go saying it out loud in a crowded bar."

I'd swear that that's what I heard. I'm sure of it. She can cast spells without incantations. And she's teaching Raidek how to do it too...

Sai let his right hand drop casually to his sword hilt. He was determined to get to the truth of this matter. Even if he had to take it at the edge of a blade. He'd much prefer not to go about it that way, but he was determined to stand against the Guard, Aruhl Gregor, on even footing when next they met. If this was the only way to get to that power, then that was what he would do.

Weird fairy...

Hayte watched as Spio missed by the slightest margin. His brilliantly glowing tongue retracted and vanished back into his mouth in less than a tenth of a second. He then watched as the black clad man cast a fireball, that continued to roll about their battlefield.

Hayte commanded.

Spio lay still in the mud, still matching his surroundings, hiding, hoping that whatever Duhl was going to do would be fast.

"Splendens luminarium orbis." Hayte recited.

An orb of brilliant white light appeared in the air, near to the fairy.

"Hey, fairy, look at this!"

((I believe that puts us at 3 spells to 3, correct?))

“My friend Sai, with everything that went on in that brief time I’m sure you were just a little taken aback. I assure you that.”

Raidek moved to Jania, and a little past, “As for paying you what is due, come back to my room at the Inn.” Looking back to Sai as he continued, “We’ll see you around town friend.” He happened to notice Sai’s hand fall to his sword’s hilt. Picking up his pace before he would even allow Kin to try and jump in on the conversation, or anything else for that matter.

All of the Cookie fairies stopped and blinked, then looked over their shoulders when the voice called them, and stared for a moment at the pretty light.
"No you fool, hes distracting you!" Raolain grated, cursing the curious nature of all fairies.

Jania eyes flashed dangerously as he heard the man named Sai tell her that he thought she could silent cast. She hoped he would not notice. Then when she saw his hand slowly reach for his sword, she prepared to drop the charade and attack first. She probably would have attacked first if it Raidek hadn't taken charge of the situation.

As Raidek said his goodbye to Sai and the other one Jania lightly grabbed his hand and tried to pretend she was his friend while letting him lead the way.

Kin stood next to Sai, his breath was still quite heavy and his expression was chiseled with fury. He watched Raidek and Jania go despite his enraged feelings. He didn’t know whether to want to be taught how to silent chant too or not, or if he wanted to kill them both all together. His mind was very unstable and confused at this point. “Are you really going to let that go, Sai?” Kin whispered in a hissing like tone. “I know what I heard, as did you.”

(( Sorry, I'm feeling pretty sick this week. I don't know if it will effect the quickness of my posting or not. ))

As they moved to leave, making obviously hasty lies, Sai moved his arm so that his fore arm rested across the pommel of his sword.

"Yeah." Sai responded to Kin. "for now."

I know what I heard. And Kin heard it too. Taken aback, my a**. I've been in combat and flat out battle dozens of times, that's not enough to alter my perceptions. I heard what I heard...

Sai watched the two figures backs as they walked down the street. "Kin, how stealthy can you be, if you have to?"

Good.

"Mico." Hayte said, and averted his eyes. Spio, down in his muddy hiding place, averted his as well.

The orb of light, roughly in the center of the battlefield, with the fairy near to it and staring directly at it, burst like a miniature sun going nova. Light spilled everywhere, brightly enough to cast the black clad man and Haytes shadows through their clothing. Anybody looking even remotely near the epicenter of that blast was going to be seeing spots for a long time.

Hayte commanded.

"I already have Vix tailing them." Kin replied, his voice and breathing becoming calmer. "It wouldn't be a good idea for me to follow them right now. I have too much hostile intent against them and they could detect it if I were watching from nearby." Kin added. He then began making his way to the inn and leaned against the wall like he had before and then sliding down the wall until he was comfortably sitting against the wall just for some support. His mood was a bit depressing once again despite the events that just took place. Kin sighed and looked down at the dirt.

Raolain, having guessed the purpose of the orb, quickly averted his eyes and escaped the worst of the bright blast. Cookie however, weaved to and fro through the air, moaning and keening as she covered her eyes with her tiny hands.
"Must I do everything?" Raolain growled before mumbling a spell, feeling the power leave him and enter into Cookie,"O'goth."
Cookie stopped her wailing and opened her eyes, blinking a few times before laughing delightedly. Raolain opened his book again, scanning the page until he found what he sought,"]dro ml'aen."

Cookie looked around, and found that both Raolain and Duhl had a blue aura around them....as did a certain spot on the ground...She laughed even more, drawing her tiny sword as she did so. Raolain had granted her the ability to see the aura of life.

Spio thought to his partner.

Hayte responded.

Hayte knew the spell he wanted to use by heart, now he just had to wait for that annoying little fairy to get close enough for it to work.

Alright, that's one problem sorta solved... Guess I should catch back up with Damiano and Vilya

Stratus asked.

Sai informed his partner.

Stratus had no response to that, only a sense of determination to match Sais own.

Cookie grinned and laughed a high tinkling sound, and without warning streaked toward her target, so fast she was just a blur. She held her sword before her, a living needle of death. Raolain smiled and willed the sphere of fire that still burned to race towards her target at the same time, ignoring the weak feeling washing through him, making his knees wobble and sweat drip down his brow. All the casting was beginning to take its toll on him.

Spio said, keeping himself oriented on the fairy streaking towards him.

When she was little over a few feet from him Hayte made his move. "Extraxi pneum." He poured a significant chunk of his remaining magical energy into the spell, hoping to finally bring an end to this troublesome battle.

With the fairy close to him now, Spio opened his mouth. And allowed the fires burning within to blast their out at her. Crimson flames whooshed their way out of his mouth, expelled for many feet, in a brief, but searing, display.

Spio thought to his partner simultaneously to expelling his flames.
