And why did that change things? Gion asked curiously. Strange, how things had gone so opposite that way for him.

People who's auras are filled with death will show differently. Daemon explained to Gion.
Death of course has it's colours as well, black.. and I did forget to mention this... can represent death and mourning, to my people that have always been the case. I guess because it's well... black and darkness, but Yume's people white is the colour of death, because it's a cold colour, the colour of snow, which... since things die in winter is how they equate the colour to the same meaning.

So if you and I were standing side by side, Gion mused, and looking at the same person, someone who was mourning a death ... I would see them as black, and you as white?
Now there was an odd concept. But an interesting one. It told Gion that Daemon wouldn't necessarily interpret the auras Gion saw in the way that they were really meant to be interpreted.
Which meant he would have to stop asking Daemon, in all likelihood, and trust his own instincts.

Yes... that's why I normally try to give both dualities of colours, or try to give you as many meanings as I know as possible. Though I'm sorry for the death part slipping my mind... and no.. it's not so much mourning a death as it is....
How could he explain this.
There are people in... any world since I'm not a true optimist... that feed off of death, it goes beyond simply not being affected by death, or accepting death. Like an assassin wouldn't necessarily have a black aura, it's only if to an extent they enjoy it, not just death but everything that comes with it. To die is easy, the getting there process is the part that would scare any more person the most.

Wonderful, Gion thought sarcastically. But still ... I suppose I can't be sure about this fellow unless I meet him personally and learn more about him, can I?
He sighed. Another time ... right now all I want is a bath and a rest.

Bath, and rest. Daemon agreed to that, despite the comment.
You can get to know him later, besides it could just be nothing. Think about it after you get the travel dust off of you.

Nadya returned just then, a towel folded neatly over her arm.
"Come," she said softly. "A bath has been prepared. If you would like, I can wash your clothes while you bathe, I have fresh clothes your size laid out for you on your bed."
She paused, then specified, "The bed that was yours when your family still lived here."

Gion nodded his thanks to Nadya, and took the towel from her. He offered her a smile as he headed up the stairs.
Tomorrow, he told Daemon. And then you can help me figure him out, if you wish.
He closed the door to his room once he was inside, but did not lock it. He stripped down, leaving the sword lying down the center of the bed as if it were a shrine, then headed into the connected bathing room and stepped into the tub, leaving the towel within reach.
He could still talk to Daemon, though - and he was thankful for that.

Of course.
Daemon replied back in a cheery voice.
If there is something that tells you something, you should investigate, and we should just in case.

Gion lay back in the tub and relaxed, letting the hot water soak into his tired muscles. As he flipped his long hair out of his eyes, he chuckled inwardly.
While I'm here, I should see if Laer might cut my hair short for me again, he thought bemusedly. I'm afraid I might frighten my family if they were to see me like this. I doubt any of them have hair this long.
He gazed at his reflection in the water. Yes, he had changed quite a bit in his absence ...

It's not like your hair is a mess. Daemon replied even though he didn't know, but he supposed it was pretty worn with dust and all that, but he knew that Gion wouldn't let it get too bad.
Though I suppose... I can't imagine how long it's gotten after six years.

It's not so bad when I tie it back, Gion mused. But in general ... I did like it when it was short. It was cooler and cleaner.
He ducked his face under the water and came up scrubbing.

And probably easier to handle.
He added remember Yume's long hair, grown because she wanted to and because she was use to it.
Perhaps you should.

Gion couldn't help but chuckle. Easier to handle, yes, he agreed. He washed the sand out of his hair, then started washing his body.
Kind of miss the huge bathtubs at the castle every now and again, he thought randomly.

Really? They have that much more room?
Of course Daemon could not see much less know of the idea of having a mini pool for a bathtub, he would have been shocked if he knew otherwise.
