"It's gonna rock!" he exclaimed, no rock pun intended since they were facing the gargoyles.
He nodded, grinning at Draconia. "Thanks for the support! I mean really. It feels nice having friends cheering you on. Oh," he added, nodding at Whinnie, "Oh, I'm Dashner Hawke by the way," he extended a hand and they shook hands.

Glen gave Chase a quick hug so that the centaur could take his spot alongside the other members of the football team, and then Glen practically ran up the bleachers to take his rightful spot by his beastie, Drakie's side, joining the small tandem she had going for herself, alongside Dashner and Whinnie.
Glen said with much hexcitement, "Boo! This is going to be stellar! Hi Drakie! Dash!"
Glen then leaned past Draconia and waved at Whinnie with a smile. One must always be polite to the utmost to the sibling of the boo you were dating!
Glen sat back and continued, "I'm glad Frankie has her team. Would have been my luck Cleo would have put ideas in her head and I'm not getting caught on that pyramid ... again!"

"Yo, Glen!" He did a small salute in greeting, then turned back to Draconia. "I should get going. Mind saving me a seat so I can sit after our football thing is over?" he asked, and they nodded.
"Thanks! You guys enjoy the pep rally!" Ge got up, letting Glen slide next to Draconia and he fumbled his way back down to where the football team sat, and he sat beside Chase.

"Marceline!" Rory waved at the green-haired ghoul as she waded through the masses. "Hey!"
As she headed over, Rory did a quick check. His brand-new Letterman jacket, freshly arrived today, fit great and it was stain-free. His hair was flopped on his forehead in a reasonably well-groomed way. Yes, he thought, his appearance passed muster for Marceline.
"M'lady!" He held out a hand for her in a mock-formal way, immediately regretting how kind of dorky that sounded. "I like your ghoul spirit outfit!"
Glen waved them over towards his little group, so the two of them made their way up the bleachers.
"Oh, uh, I need to tell you before I forget." Rory tapped his temple gingerly. "Dinner tomorrow is going to be at four, because of Mother's freakend schedule. That should give us enough time to enjoy eating before going to the dance. I wanted to let you know in case you're going to the Scarestyling Hexpo so you don't get caught up too late. Glen says our aunt Scarie is going to style bunch of ghouls' hair, so maybe we can ask if you'll be allowed to be one of the early ones?"

"That shouldn't be a problem." Marceline linked her arm with Rory's as they ascended the screechers. "Scarie's an old friend of the family, and she's already asked me to come in hextra-early... my hair is somewhat of an investment of time..."
She tousled her hair gently, before getting her bones snagged on a tangle and awkwardly fidgeting to get it loose. She heaved a big sigh. A huge investment of time, she thought...
"Oh, before I forget!" Marceline unhooked from Rory and hopped down the screechers, back to where she was originally sitting with Tori, Jewels and Sally. She plucked her foam finger from where she was sitting and smiled at the ghouls.
"Er, if it's all the same, Rory wanted to sit with his cousin for the pep rally. See you ghouls at the game?" She smiled before returning to Rory's side.

"You know her?!!" Rory boggled at this revalation. It made sense, of course..."auntie" Scarie lived in New Goreleans, and that was Marceline's hometown. It chagrined Rory, though, that even she knew his family better than he did. Rory's mother had finally relented and let him come to Monster High, but outside of Glen's mother Emeralda and his aunt Glinda, she was still not a big fan of other witches. It was slow going to get her to change her ways.
As Marceline begged pardon from her ghoulfriends and they went and sat by Glen, Rory boiled over with questions.
"Is Scarie nice? Does she like boos? What does she sound like? Do you think she'd mind if I watch her do her work? Will she get offended if I ask questions?"

Marceline sat down next to Glen; with a smile she briskly waved at him, Draconia, and Chase. As Rory rattled off questions about Auntie Scarie, her eyes fixed on his drumming fingers in his lap... his bouncing knees... his tapping feet... He was so hexcited he couldn't sit still, and Marceline strangely felt the early warning signs of a fangxiety attack coming on because of it. Taking in a sharp, deep breath, she quickly grasped Rory's hands and gently pressed them to his knees, if only to stop his movement for a moment...
"Well, Rory! I'm sure Auntie Scarie will love you, as long as you aren't this ebull'ent when you're in her salon chair! Seein' as how her usual clientele is the undead hordes of New Goreleans, she's somewhat used to clients who... move less..."
Marceline forced a laugh at her own joke, feeling her voice start to crack a little. Another deep breath and she delicately wove her fingers between Rory's; slowly and precisely as if she were stitching up a voodoo doll, until her palm was pressed against his. Just focusing on that calmed her down somewhat.
"Now, what can you tell me about dinner... with your mother?" She said with a breezy smile. In her mind she wondered if Rory knew about the conversation she had with Mary Bludworth the weekend prior, or if she should even bring it up until after Tombcoming. Just thinking about it made her heart get a pins-and-needles sensation, so she brushed it off.

"Hey Dash man, was starting to get concerned you'd ended up stuck in a zombie flash mob or something. Nice of you to join us at last." He grinned, though he did look a little overwhelmed by all the noise and screaming. Monster high sure had a lot of spirit, and they were doing their best to make sure everyone in the clawdatorium knew it.

Dashner smiled at his greeting. "Hey bro. Yeahh... People decided to talk to me. Which isn't a bad thing, unless they dump you on the side of the road to go talk to the boo they like..." he shook his head, turning to Chase.
"This is my first pep rally, bro, and I'm assuming that this isn't your first. What are we supposed to do?"

The lights in the Grimnasium dimmed.
"Okay, Students...." Headless Headmistress Bloodgood stepped up on the stage, instantly silencing all of the chatter going throughout the bleachers. "Put your claws together for your NEW Monster High Fear Squad!"
Frankie Stein, Spectra Vondergeist, Slo Mo Mortevitch and Venus McFlytrap walked out onto the stage to a disturbingly apprehensive quiet from the students. There was some polite applause, but there were also some monsters visibly stifling yawns.
Near the Fear-O-Meter, Cleo and the rest of the vocally-impaired Fear Squad winced as it barely managed to register an iota of ghoul spirit.
"Okay, Fear Squad! Let's show the school our freaky flaws!" Frankie shouted out, ripping her arm off and throwing it at the school's sound system. Her hand sailed over the heads of the students and landed perfectly square right on the 'play' button.
"HIT IT!!!!"
Spectra sailed overhead, concentrating her spectral ectoplasm to turn herself into a glowing beacon zipping over the heads of the students in a dazzling display. As she flew by, she passed through students, waving her poltergeist pom-poms and instilling the students she passed through with a chilling sensation of school pride.
"Come on, Monster High! ON YOUR FEET!" She commanded as her ghostly glow zipped through the bleachers.

As Spectra was heating up the crowd, Venus and Frankie pulled out the stunt platform. Normally, this platform was used to launch the tiny Draculaura to the top of the fearamid for the normal Fear Squad routine, but this time it had been repurposed. Frankie and Venus stood on the launching end of the pad. Some of the students in the bleachers gasped - there was no way they'd be able to launch TWO ghouls with the catapult...would they?
"Hhrrrrrrggghhhhhh!" Slo-Mo gave out the most scream-spirit-infused groan he could as he launched his considerable bulk off the stage onto the other side of the platform. Frankie and Venus SOARED up in the air!
"I can't look!" Heath cried from the blachers as he covered his eyes....then opened his fingers so he could see.
"WE! ARE! MONSTERS! WE! ARE! PROUD!" Frankie and Venus shouted out their chant like it wasn't no thing that they were going ten, fifteen feet high in the air! Even students who Spectra hadn't gotten on their feet were standing now, as the two ghouls shook their pom-poms and a mixture of rain (captured from Venus's custom runoff-collecting rain barrel, of course) and Venus's own pollens of persuasion sprinkled down onto the floor of the grimnasium....enticing a lush growth of flowers, bushes and ivy to groan to live and grow almost faster than the eye could see, in Monster High school colors!
"WE! ARE! MONSTERS! SAY! IT! LOUD!"
"Yes!!!" Off to the side, Cleo DeNile managed to squeak out a single word as Frankie and Venus landed safely on top of the thicket that was now in the middle of the grimnasium. The branches and ivy brambled groaned, and then launched Venus and Frankie into the air again.
WE ARE MONSTER HIGH! The two ghouls cried out as their second launch into the air started to crest and they sailed over the heads of the students in the bleachers.
"Slo-Mo! CATCH!" Venus called out as they started to descend. She released a flurry of black rose petals from the sky trickling down to the ground. Slowly, the zombie extended his arms....slowly, raising the palms to the sky...
And Frankie and Venus came to a perfect landing, each on one of his hands - a reverse fearamid!
"WOOO! WOO HOOO!" Heath Burns was on his feet, bellowing. Manny Taur shivered as Spectra passed through him, then he too lurched up and let out the loudest shout he could.
*BOOM!* Pyrotechnics sent fountains of sparks into the air on either side of the stage. Students were screaming. Students were jumping up and down! The bleachers felt like there was an earthquake taking place in the grimnasium!
Even on the sidelines, the afflicted Fear Squad were jumping up and down as the Fear-O-Meter lights climbed higher...higher...the entire meter glowed to near-meltdown status....and then the meter cracked and exploded!
Headless Headmistress's jaw dropped nearly off of her head.
"We've never had a cheer chart BURST before! Let's WIN this game!" She hexclaimed, her voice barely audible over the sounds of the students chanting 'MON-STER HIGH' over and over.
"Way to go, Frankie!" Cleo managed to croak out from the sidelines...At last, everyone was whipped into the proper spirit. How could Granite City beat them now?!

It took nearly ten minutes after the Fear Squad's scream-spirit routine ended for the students to calm down enough for the Headless Headmistress to again take the stage. Even now, the sounds coming from the crowd in the bleachers were more of a dull roar than anything else. The Headmistress took off her head and held it as high as she could so she could project over the noise.
"Students of Monster High....I give you...your NIGHTMARES!"
The roar turned into a deafening cacauphony as the football players all stood up. One by one, as their names were called, they ran up to the stage and took their place in a row.
"Number 13, Deuce Gorgon!"
Deuce ran up, paused on the sidelines to give Cleo a kiss on the cheek, and sprinted onto the stage.
"Number 22, Jackson Jekyll!"
Jackson stood up and gave a wave. He whipped off his soundproof headphones, and the background music charged him up to let out his inner monster.
"Also wearing number 22, Holt Hyde!"
"WOOO! YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!" Holt called out as he ran up onto the stage and took a place by Deuce.
"Number 11, Heath Burns!" Heath pumped a fist, high-fived Manny Taur and jogged up to the stage next to his cousin.
"Number 89, Manny Taur!" Manny bellowed out a might 'Muhhooooooooo!' and stomped onto the stage.
"Number 7, Dashner Hawke!" Dashner stood up, spread out his wings and gave everyone a flying flip before landing on the stage to cheers.
"Number 4, Chase Quadripedes!" Headmistress Bloodgood, the only one who could get the centaur's last name right on the first try, nailed it as Chase bucked back and forth before jumping right up onto the middle of the stage.
"Number 83, Perry Hartley!" Perry pumped a fist in the air as he made his way down to the stage and took a spot next to Chase.
"Number 16, Don Of the Dead!" The big, solid zombie stood up and was already almost on the stage, knowing full well ahead of time it'd take him the longest to get up there. Don gave a loud groan as he finally made it to the top of the stairs and flexed, displaying the massive wall of dead muscle Granite City would have to contend with.
"Number 20, Eyera!" The all-eyeball boo stood up, twisting his eyestalk all around to see all of the cheering students, and took his place on the stage next to Don.
"Number -32, Ricky!" The gorilla boy clapped together the ice cubes on his hands as he clomped up onto the stage and gave Eyera the chilliest high-five ever.
"Your student captain and quarterback, Clawd Wolf!" Clawd jumped up, gave the crowd a rousing "OW-OW-OW-OWOOOOOOO" howl before leaping onto the stage and high-fiving the rest of his team. The Headmistress held up both of her arms.
"ONCE AGAIN, YOUR MONSTER HIGH NIGHTMARES!" All of the students in the bleachers lurched to their feet and gave the monsters on the stage a thundering standing ovation!

Glen bounced up and down on the bleachers, a glowing smile on his face and clapping as hard as he could for the Nightmares as the team members pumped fists, knuckle bumped one another, and waved heartily to their fellow students in the stands.
Glen stuck his thumb and forefinger in between his lips and let out a shrill whistle of appreciation!
He then reached into his pocket and pulled out his iCoffin/wand and whipped it up toward the roof and launched a spell that turned into a shower of sparkles in the Monster High colors!

Perry was always glad to have his team mates around him, diverting attention. Still, all this fuss didn't suit him well. He played football because he enjoyed the game, not because he wanted adoration from the student body.
He keep his head down, not quite able to look up at the crowds without feeling uncomfortably conspicuous.
He had to admit though, the school were more pumped than he'd ever seen them.
Maybe they stood a chance against Granite City after all. The thought brought a grin to his face, it'd be nice to thrash those boulder headed Gargoyles.

Jewels got up and cheered with everyone else, overcome with the atmosfear. She'd never been to a pep rally, but this was CLAWSOME! So much school spirit, everyone was so hexcited, it was intoxicating.
"GONIGHTMARES!!" She squealed, waving her foam finger like mad.
