And suddenly, there was the open ocean.
There was, Glenda reflected, swallowing salt water and flailing in what she assumed was a doggie paddle, a rather lot of water.
She kicked off the expensive heels she'd borrowed from Clarice, mentally making a note to pay her out of the money she hadn't had an opportunity to gamble away.

Suddenly there was water everywhere... Jerry yelped, Roar vanishing so he could desperately try to keep himself above water. He gasped, panic gripping him.
He could do this. He had been practicing. He could do this oh god, he couldn't die here...

One minute, Smith was battling a horde of spiders and now he was dropped into the middle of the ocean during a hurricane, just trying to survive. Things were going really well for the Death trainee.

And now they were all sinking. Sure, she knew this would happen. It always happened with ships right? At least it did in most movies, its only fitting if it happen on a mission as well. Swimming clear of most of the wreckage, she spotted a certain green haired hunter practically drowning.
Oh gawd, why does it have to be him..!?
Sucking in a breath, she swam over to Lucky, grabbing onto him in attempt to keep him above water. "Hold on to me, okay?"

It wasn't enough.
She was so tired. Glenda could feel herself sinking, under the weight of her clothes and purse even without the shoes, and the harder she fought, it seemed the further she sunk.
In a last ditch effort, she summoned Penny, firing off a shot into the air.

Smith lied to himself that if he could get past one wave of ice cold sea water nearly drowning him that he could make it to the portal. Only a few more yards. Though he really knew that the longer he stayed in the water, the weaker he would become. Raiquen was shouting in Smith's head to keep swimming since the weapon had no intention of sinking to the bottom of the ocean.

The board was working out as a third wave crashed over him, and he clung for dear life and kicked with all his might toward the distant sign of the glowing portal.
He had a moment to clear his head as he looked... wait. He saw a glimmer of shotgun in the water... Glenda!

The answer to the question they'd all been asking was answered a little too abruptly for her tastes. Was it all real? Was any of it real? The answer was: yes, the food was real. The ocean was real. And they were real.
Everything else fell away to mist and ash, and left the group to re-enact the end scene of Titanic over and over. Who will never let go of whom, she wondered? She knew her answer; she wasn't letting go of herself. Neither was the ice cold water going to let go of her, until she started to swim.
It numbed her, creeping into her ind and her thoughts and leaving her with nothing but the simple goal of survive. She started to move sluggishly, swimming towards the portal as well as her quickly freezing body could manage.

With smooth, even strokes, Wash swam toward the portal. He could feel his strength flagging just as he made it to the raft, and he hung off the side to catch his breath before scanning the water.
"Sasha? Jerry?"
