Gambler didn't move nor flinch when her mask was taken off and her chin in his fingers. Looking up at him, she saw his eyes because his face would never show how he really felt and her heart squeezed tightly at the sight. She had hurt the one man she swore to herself and to him she wouldn't hurt....What a damn liar she made herself out to be. "Pity...I would cooperate better with pleasantries but suit yourself." Her voice was nonchalant.
Once his hand dropped, something inside Gambler cried out having missed his touch even if it wasn't nice. Hearing that one word....It could mean so many things yet nothing at all. But she knew. Rave wasn't one to ask stupid questions only because he wasn't stupid. He was an intelligent man who knew his stuff and right now.....He knew he was feeling alot of things now.
"If I told you Rave....Your going to think many things about me. One could be that I'm foolish, insane, or nonesense..." She crossed her arms and lifted her chin, giving him a defiant look with her scar making it look fiercer. "Just like the next thing I'm going to tell you is something your not going to believe." Which was not hurting him...She never meant to hurt him but some precautions needed to be taken when dealing with Heaven and Hell, therefore she had to do something drastic, like always. It just became messy with the emotional attachments.

“I do not believe that pleasantries could help this situation.” His eyes remained on hers and he didn’t bother to mask anything in his eyes. Rave was hurt, yes, but that alone wasn’t something that he was used to. Rave had allowed himself to get close to this woman, against his much better judgment, but that hadn’t changed a damn thing. Shaking his head, he sighed and watched her but still wouldn’t move from where he was. He wanted to grab her, shake her, slam her against a wall… do anything really to just make her talk to him and to figure out why all of this had happened. “I do not believe, also, that what I think of you has any relevance to this whatsoever. It has not stopped you yet.”
The words stung, and they were meant to. Rave watched her but slowly began to relax just a bit more. Now that they were together, just slightly calmer, he was able to really look at her. Where had that scar come from? That hadn’t been there before. He didn’t reach out to touch the mark as he normally would have done, but instead stood still, his hands resting by his sides. Gambler would speak and he would listen. That had to be the first thing that happened so that they could figure out just what it was that they were going to do with all of this mess.

Gambler felt as if her heart constricted and tried to choke itself from looking at Rave. Damnit...She had to be the monster. Of course it was her. Why wouldn't it be? She was great at it and here is the proof of it. Nodding curtly she dropped her crossed arms and stood like Rave did. No arms crossing over their chest to shield themselves.
Well maybe she should have kept it in case since those words did sting her. "Well...See your just the chip off the old block, let me lay it down for you. I had to protect the balance because of what Sin did. Even if it meant, breaking promises and ruining lives. I made the sacrifice the way I intended it and now everything is as it should be. Kyoshi married with Dusk, Kalore with Monty and you with your old life. Happy?"

Rave’s eyes remained lazered onto hers. “You believe that everything is how it was?” He frowned, slowly shaking his head as he looked at her as though she were some child, a child that had yet to learn the basic lessons of life. It was interesting to think that this woman was older than he was when Rave felt like he was facing Dusk all over again. Funny how similar the two women were. “Yes, things are adequate… What you did, I shall believe you in your saying it had to have been done, but now? Now there is only one life that has changed and has not gained from your escapade, Gambler.” His low voice nearly rumbled in the small room, his eyes stone cold but still not hiding his emotions from her. Not everyone was happy with this.
“Explain this to me. How did you leaving, lying to all of us that you were gone, those who did care for you, help? How did that need to be done?” The questions were sharp, quick to cut the one they were directed to but pain wasn’t Rave’s intention. If he wanted to hurt Gambler then there were many things that he could have said and done, but that wasn’t his intention. His intention was to find the answers to the questions that had littered his mind for much too long now. “Out of all those there, why did you lie to me?”

krusnik05 Gambler glared at Rave, breaking her emotionless mask and then rolled her eyes. “You forget Sir Rave, I’m far older than you and what I did wasn’t for the greater good of you, or the others in this little group. It was for the greater good of your f*cking race and for Area 6. Staying there would have attracted far more than just flesh eating spiders or rubber zombies.” She snapped but then looked at Rave and nodded to herself. “Yet you wouldn’t understand that because you’re a simpleton. Your elf and I am a creature for another plain of existence. What do you know?” Lifting her chin at her words, she didn’t think Rave would understand. He didn’t live a full life like she and her friends have. Yes he’s over a thousand or close to it but that is not enough to know about all the troubles that come with being an angel or a demon. He would never understand it because he will end up dead and reborn into something else. Not her. It will not happen for a long time. Yet hearing his question on why she lied to him……Her defiance was gone. “I never meant to….You wouldn’t have understood and would have talked me out of doing all that occurred.”

It shouldn’t have happened, but Rave could only keep his cool for so long. Grabbing her arms, he yanked her close, looking at the woman as his hands easily held her biceps. He never wavered in his stare, speaking slowly, carefully, “But there you are wrong, Angel.” His words were careful. No one called him a simpleton. Yes, he was an elf, but that didn’t mean that he didn’t understand what all was happening. What Gambler did for that moment, during the time of Sin being there, that made sense. He didn’t wish to argue about that but what didn’t make sense was everything that happened after. Her not addressing it only proved his point that she was still thinking like some small child; no matter her age.
“I killed Sin. I made sure he was no longer there which by doing so put the threat to a minimum. By doing this, you had no reason to leave in the manner you did.” His grip tightened just barely, watching her with careful eyes, still not hiding the hurt look but now the hatred that had befallen him crept in. Rave didn’t hate Gambler but he did hate some of the choices she had made. Abandoning them was one of those choices. “You left, destroying not only my group who fought to get you after all this mess, but your own. Some of your group understood, some did not. Some played nice with you while you left them cold. Was that necessary for the protection of my ‘f*cking race’?”
His eye remained narrowed. Even her loss of defiance didn’t deter him as much as it probably should have. “I do not care what it was that you did to me. You are old enough to choose your own path and I can handle that and respect that. I will not respect choices made, however, that do not make logical sense. Your leaving is one of those choices that make far less logical sense than I believe. What you did before Sin’s death… I understand that. We all do for we were told what was going on. What happened after? That benefited you, Gambler. Not us. You.”

krusnik05 Gambler gasped softly and held stiffly in front of Rave. Again she had this bloody feeling that Rave was talking down on her like some child. It was pointless. Complete and utter pointless to explain the ramifications behind her decisions. Honestly…..She gave up. Her shoulders dropped but her face turned emotionless. “Well then….You seem to have figured it out.” She heard herself said, the woman’s voice sounding detached. Everything inside her shut down as she began to feel nothing. Let Rave think whatever he wanted. If that’s what he thought then go for it. She was willing to roll with that for as long as it could. “It’s all about me. I only thought about me. I never liked anyone of you and I certainly didn’t love you. So now you know all the truths, you can let me go completely. I only exist in the past.” She said, staring at him detached, her voice turning bittersweet.

“Damnitt, Gambler…” Muttering the words, Rave fell silent, soon just resting his forehead against hers, watching her. To be this close to the woman was strange, really, but that wasn’t all that he had to think of. Slowly breathing, he listened to her, not feeling a single sting of pain from any of the words. He was just pissing her off and that’s all that she was doing with him. But even knowing this, that didn’t stop the fact that he wanted her to stay, that he wanted the two to argue, that he wanted all of these things that he hadn’t wanted since he was younger. Rave needed her to stay, knew that that’s what he needed but as he watched her, he wasn’t sure on what she needed.
“I do not know a damn thing and that is one thing we both know.” He kept his eyes on her. Gambler knew what was going on but the two seemed to be having an issue when it came to communicating. Gambler wasn’t listening to him and he seemed to not be understanding her. “Do not turn numb yet… that I request…” His grip lessened and for a moment it was almost the loving gesture, the loving embrace from before. Almost. “I do not believe you did this to be selfish but tell me this, truly… if you wished to be gone… why come back?” He shook his head some, not talking about why she came back for the wedding. Kyoshi was a close friend so of course she’d come back, anyone knew that. But…
“You did not leave this plain, though I do not know if you attempted to do such a thing or not… So why not come back here? You are alive. Many would be thankful to know that, Gambler, and not just those from my group.” His voice was soft but this wasn’t as though he were talking to a child. He was speaking to someone he cared about, someone he even loved. Yes, Rave still loved Gambler. It was impossible for him not to love the woman. They hadn’t been together since Isabelle had been shown to Gambler. Over a year… that’s how long it had been. A year and a half, almost, and he still loved her. Damn her for all of this… but as much as he wished to damn her he wished to love her and that alone would not change.

krusnik05 There was a serious communication issues between, that part of her twitched since it was a pet peeve. Sighing she leaned back to look at him but didn’t move far enough to stop the holding on her arms. If anything, she inwardly missed his touch. It didn’t matter in what form. Rave touching her was like the greatest pleasure there ever was. And this wasn’t on a sexual level…No, just a lingering touch of his hands, or a hug always left Gambler all warm and fuzzy inside. Just like now….Or it was starting to feel like that. At his request she lost her numbness easily, having had a good amount of time in working at it during her unpaid vacation in hell, glowering at Rave. “Don’t you dare request anything from me, punk. I will whip you and sit my fat a** on you until you understood me.” In another life that would have been funny, but that was the way Gambler evolved in this world. She was free to speak as she pleased. Tilting her head to the side she sighed. “Come back as in…Why I’m alive still? It’s one of those things that you wouldn’t understand but coming back here here? You try putting up with demons on a secluded island for a full year straight without your powers and then come tell me why you came back.” She said to him, huffing a bit and touching her scar. “I really did get blown up….It was supposed to happen but I didn’t make it out in time. The metal tore up and cut through me. I looked like spaghetti.” There was a hint of amusement in her. So there was still some humor in her after all. “Yet…Sin had done something that if I stayed around it would have returned him, even if you killed him. Believe me Rave, just like there are ways for mages to come back after their physical body has been destroyed, they still have ways of coming back. Leaving, lying, breaking everyone’s trust was the only way to remove you all. In other words…I also became a threat.” Gambler looked at Rave. Damnit but he was still gorgeous as ever. Even angry and determined and cold, he was the hottest thing ever. Then she scowled at herself, glaring at Rave even if it wasn’t his fault….Or maybe it was if having that song Take My Breath Away play in her head as she stared at him. Grumbling in her divine language about a pain in the a** hot Rave, she continued. “Somethings have to happen in order to keep the balance Rave. Whether you believe it or not, somethings drastic and painful are needed for it to keep in place. Me and Monty were the active participants in what happened after Sin was killed. If anyone other low level demon felt the presence of hell in your land, your people would be overwhelmed with them to get to it and feast on its power and unleash it. Do you honestly think that we both could have stayed here and defend that when a bounty would be on our heads? We are few of the powerful from both sides…Anyone below us in power would love to be Alpha. So why put you and the others in danger of that? Kyoshi was fine…We brought that attention to us and we did it. It was the plan. Kyoshi would have joined in but he has Dusk…..He wouldn’t leave her and there could only be one Alpha “alive” then all three.” The woman hesitated but lifted her hand up to touch this man she loved, still after everything and didn’t deserve him, touched his cheek lightly. “I hurt you and made a liar out of myself and protecting you in the process of how it was done isn’t justifiable. It never will be. I regret doing it but it was something that had to be done in order to keep chaos under control and stop any more insane madness from both sides touching the elven race and Area 6. Both sides have made progress. I left Viper with the real treaties all drawn up for open trade in medical, education and goods as well as military strength. Besides….I’m working for the fae so coming back to see you all wouldn’t fit my schedule of training these pups.” Whether Rave understood that or not, she would accept it. Whether he said he hated her and found her lacking, she would accept that too.

Listening to the woman, it took a lot of will power to not bring her back close to him. Rave surprised himself in the comfort that he took with having her right there before him, allowing him to touch her at all. Maybe he believed that she hated him but though he did feel some hatred in him for this woman, he knew that you couldn’t hate someone without loving them first. Gambler had his love and the love hadn’t left yet. By the time she had snapped at him, the slightest smile appeared on his lips. “I am glad that you believe that you can do such a thing.” Grip loosening, it was almost soothing the touch that he had on her. If Gambler could calm down then so could he. Or so he thought as she spoke and touched his cheek.
He closed his eyes for a moment, silent before a hand raised and touched her hand. Rave didn’t push her off but instead kept her there, an arm wrapping around the woman but never pulling her to him. He didn’t believe that it was his place for that right then. Maybe one of these days it would be, but not now. “I understand, Gambler.” Voice soft, his eyes opened and he watched her, sighing softly before shaking his head. “I wish that you would have told us about this, Gambler. If it was pertinent for you to leave then… then we would have let you. I understand your reasoning for the manner that you left, but… we were already against one another even before then.” His voice was nearly a whisper, the weight of the room pressing on them both.
“I want you to stay, Gambler… even if I know that you cannot.” He kept his eyes focused on her, showing that he truly did not hate her, no matter how much he really wanted to. “You may not be able to visit, but I now know you are alive and I know that I am more than likely not the only one. Cecilia does not dislike you, many of our group enjoys your company… Even Kalore has not yet spoken negative of you save for once.” But then he had rights to it. As he watched the woman, though, scar and all, he leaned down and gently pressed a kiss to her forehead. Rave knew that he didn’t have rights to fully kiss the woman that he still loved. “Please… do not stay gone permanently.”

krusnik05 Gambler looked up at Rave, listening and sighed softly. There was a yearning within her that she thought was beaten up into submission but it wasn’t that wanted Rave. Perhaps more than ever but she wouldn’t jump into his arms. No, things were still too raw for her and no doubt for him. Shaking her head, the woman, touched his jawline. “No Rave. Move on….Be happy with someone who will share your same life.” At the very least she wanted someone that would grow old with Rave and die with him. “Yes…You know I’m alive and that should be enough.” The woman had hoped to see her friend married off and happy, and to leave here unscathed. Now she was going to leave here with open wounds and a bleeding heart at seeing and speaking with Rave. Hell that kiss on her forehead was enough to make her heart want to off itself.

Watching her, Rave knew that her words were the same ones that he had told himself but he had still come to the same conclusion. “I cannot, Gambler.” He kept his arm around her and his hand gently on her cheek. “I moved on once, moved on and found someone that was better than the one I lost. When I lost that person…” He shook his head, not sure on why he couldn’t say ‘you’ in this. Maybe this really was too raw for even him. “I will not deal with all of this again. I cannot seem to stop caring for you, no matter how much I have tried.” A frown and he slowly tilted her chin up to look into her eyes, a confusion replacing all other emotions for just a split moment. “I have thought of it… but I cannot.”
Rave didn’t mean to… really he didn’t. But soon his lips met hers and just as suddenly as it happened it was gone. Just a brush of lips, faint and a ghost of what they used to have, but that didn’t stop the emotions from surging through him. Rave remained composed, however, as he sighed softly. “You are alive, yes, and will be for much longer than myself… for your life, I wish you well, Gambler. I… I do hope you enjoy the life that you now lead.”

krusnik05 Listening to Rave, Gambler’s eye’s showed her emotions. Her whole body jumped at the contact of Rave’s lips against her and man did it bring about such a strong yearning. Yet it was gone before she could react and the loss of contact made her heart scream out in pain. Keeping those deeper emotions to herself, Gambler nodded at the last words Rave said. “Yeah….You too Rave.” She said lamely, feeling all the emotions that she had wanted beaten out of her come back rear its ugly head and break her heart down. “Where do we go from here?” He found herself asking, looking uncertain after this confrontation.

Rave didn’t move away from the woman but soon sighed softly, shaking his head. “I… do not know.” He frowned a bit, watching her carefully. “What I wish to happen… that would be that you would stay here, with me… or at least agree to see me somehow. You are dearly missed, Gambler.” His soothing hands continued to rest on the other’s arms, not wanting to let her go anytime soon. To have this contact was one of the best things that had happened to him in a long time. He even considered himself just a bit pitiful to need something like this but that alone didn’t stop him. Hell, nothing stopped him for now as he tilted his head to the side, regarding her for just another moment.
“What do I believe will happen? You will return to your new king… continue to serve him and leave us for as long as you can stand. We are allies, so I will be the ambassador, either myself or Kalore or even Dusk herself when we need things done, often times another person that you will briefly know. We will see one another, attempt to ignore the other, and go home with another cut simply gashing deeper.” Rave didn’t hold anything back. He knew what would end up happening and he knew that there wasn’t a damn thing that he could do unless he forced Gambler to stay. That wouldn’t go over very well with anyone, though, so Rave would behave… maybe. The idea was a seductive one.

krusnik05 Gambler’s lips trembled but her eyes were dry and her expression turned to one of amusement. “You know….Just by you saying that I can imagine that and I have to say….That sucks.” But it was a possibility that could happen if….. Gambler sighed softly and nodded. “I’m not a masochist, dear so how about we act like adults and not go THAT?” The woman touched his jawline the action not being helped since she hadn’t touched Rave in a long time. “Perhaps I can agree to see you.” There was a bit of an mischievious light in her brown eyes. “However I’m not going to make it easy. Unless of course your tired and want to get straight to it? Then again I cannot agree to it and just…..See what you will have to do about it.”
