"They came from the plague, no? Disease has but one motive, to kill and reproduce," He tossed his head back in a laugh, "We're going to have to be better killers than the plague." He grinned at the thought. ((I'll do the training thing if we stop for a break or something.))

Despite herself, Leszya's grin widened.
" I don't see a problem with that. There are different types of plagues. Plagues of disease, plagues of locusts, plagues on houses." She paused, her mind wandering to the weapons stored in her pack. Hopefully, she had enough spare linen to ensure the blades were clean and cared for after this little encounter.
" We'll just become a plague ourselves. I know I can kill a man faster than a disease can. With some luck, or that training of yours, this group may just reach such a level."

"Hmmph, killing quickly is child's play, the trick is killing slow as the plague," He stopped in his tracks for a moment, just a moment, "Given, that's counterintuitive in a battle, which is of course what we're training for." He stepped into stride again, "With my training they'll become death incarnate, if not they'll die. Win win situation if you ask me."

A surprised laugh erupted from her lips, unexpectedly musical.
"Killing slowly is fine and lovely, if you have the time and the resources! If you're the leader of a gang of bandits staking out an enemy, if you're poisoning a king with arsenic in a salt shaker or disassembing a dictator extremity by extremity." she shook her head slightly. " Not all of us have the luxury. Some have to sneak, use quiet vigilance and conduct themselves with speed and efficiency, in as little time as possible. Those of us who act as they must to survive."
She glanced over at him, her eyes lowered. " So callous, Pix. Though admirable. Obviously, human life is an dispensable asset to the best strategists. However, the best strategists often have quite a lot more human life at their disposal. If we all die, do you plan to recruit the Khaal?"

He smiled at her cheerfully, "I was merely pointing out that anyone can shove a knife into a man, doesn't take all that much skill." A wag of his finger.
"And if you all die, I plan on looting your corpses and having myself a nice day at the nearest market, all the while pointing out the nest of big bad fishmen to the local authorities, for a price of course."

She raised an eyebrow.
" Ah, yes. But getting to the man though locks and guards, utilizing darkness and persuasion, that requires skill. If I end up dead you'll likely be in a similar state Pix, I too am good at what I do. If I do win the race to the grave though, you may have my things. I won't have much use for them anyways" her shoulders shrugged, making the load on her back jump slightly.
"Just as long as the only thing you do to my corpse is loot it, I'll consider us on good terms."

Evacy snorted, as she couldn't help herself from overhearing their conversation. "One, it wouldn't be unlike Pix to do that. Two, looting our corpses of what?" She asked. "Maybe they have something valuable on them, but some of us don't. Unless, of course, you plan on stripping us of our clothes."

"You're good, I'm better. S'why I make the big bucks, and don't forget it either. Experience is what matters in most situations, skill is overrated. The most accomplished war makers in history tend to be second rate, they just live longer." He waved a hand dismissively, "The skilled ones make a trend of dying in some half assed charge."

Leszya cocked her head to the side " Why then, aren't they demonstrating the skill of keeping themselves alive? Skill is always necessary, Pix. The skills simply have to be appropriate for the situation." she paused at his comment about how though she was good, he was better. " That depends what we're doing. Anyways, you'll have the opportunity to try and prove that to me soon enough."
She chuckled at Evacy's comment about about stripping their clothes. " From what little experience I have of Pix, I wouldn't put that past him either." She glanced over at him. " You have my blessing to take everything i carry of wear. Just try not to mess up the hair, alright?"

"I'm a patron of the Church of Luck and Experience, I've met plenty of men who outmatched me in any number of ways over the years, and I've outlived everyone of them. I've walked away from experiences where my enemy was more skilled than me, but my experience of their tactics or attitudes allowed me to prevail. Heh, I can even count a time where a lucky rock saved my life." Turning his head to Evacy," Don't flatter yourself, you've got nothing of worth, and nothing worth looking at anyways."

Ryken stood and shouldered his pack. "Skill, experience, luck, tactics, and knowledge are worthless by themselves. A lucky fool is still a fool, and an tactician without experience is bound to wind up dead." He walked a short distance towards the door, but changed his mind and walked towards a bookshelf instead. "All are factors of victory... the more one has on their side, the better their chances of victory." He pondered as he turned away from the shelf. "You can be as weak as you want and still survive. A coward will often outlive anyone with a shred of courage." He smirked. "Pix, I'll do everything I can to make sure you won't get a chance to loot my corpse. I'm not planning on dieing with anyone around, nonetheless you."

Andrea was a bit late getting up, but after a bit she walked up to the others feeling exaughsted. She walked in on the middle of the conversation, giving them an odd look at hearing them talk about stripping dead bodies and such. Andrea didn't really want to know what they were talking about, so she let her mind wander a bit.
(Sorry for the late reply, I've been so busy x__x )

"Well, I never said that I did have anything, and never said I was good looking either." Evacy said indifferently, shrugging her shoulders with some difficulty. She was still unaccostumed to the weight, and shrugging caused it to drop suddenly, tipping her slightly backwards. "God, what's in this stuff, anyways?"

((Didn't have time to post today. Pix can do training or something, but I'm speeding up the story to the next landmark tomorrow.))
