"I know but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say. And what did you mean by 'anything like me'?" Yuhi asked and crossed his arms over his chest. "Is there something wrong with admiring beautiful things in life and wanting to enjoy them?"
Kei heard someone enter his room and slowly opened his eyes. "Mai-lin, are you alright?" His voice was not much louder than a whisper, but it was hard to talk. "

Mai-lin looked up at Kei and smiled slightly. "I'm fine." She grabbed his hand. "Don't you EVER do that again, you big idiot! I could have held him off a little longer. You should have gone to get the Hokage or the ANBU." She hugged him lightly. "You scared me."

He winced when she hugged him, even though it wasn't hard. "I didn't have time to get some help. You could have been killed at any second and I didn't want that to happen." He reached a hand up and rubbed the bandages over his wound. "Was that the guy you heard Ran talking to?"

Mai-lin nodded. "That was his smell." She sat back down in the chair. "I could have held off for a little longer. You've got to learn to think things through, Pei-kun." She wipped her eyes really quickly. "You can't have thought I wanted you hurt."

"I know, I wasn't thinking. That's where my brother and I are different when it comes to battle. He can keep a calm head, while I just go with my emotions." Kei let his eyes shut, deciding to let the medicine work. "Mai-lin, I'm going to sleep now. We'll have to talk more later." within seconds he was sleeping again.

Mai-lin nodded and settled back into the chair. Himi gave a muffled bark and Mai-lin looked down to see the dog with a blanket in her mouth. "Good idea, Himi. We can tell Kei's dad what happens when he gets here." She picked up the blanket and ley it over her lap, pulling a pillow into her arms. Himi jumped into her lap and curled up. In the next few minutes both had fallen asleep while they waited for Kei's dad.

Konohamaru rushed to the hospital as soon as he'd received word on his son. He had gone home from a mission and found a bloody knife outside of his house but hadn't thought too much about it, until he was told Kei was in the hospital. After learning of what room he was in, he hurried down the hall and into Keis room. "Kei!" he said but stopped when he saw that his son was sleeping. Then he noticed Mai-lin curled up in the chair and shook her to wake her up.

Mai-lin yawned and blinked. When she saw Konohamaru she jumped up and bowed. "Konohamaru-sama! I'm sorry about Kei. It's my fault that he got hurt."

Getting closer to where she thought the camp was, Ran circled around the area a bit to try and get downwind. Creeping closer and covering her mouth with her hand, she tried to be as quiet as she could, while moving from tree to tree to lean on. Hearing a quiet conversation clarified that it was indeed someone's camp, so she tried getting close enough to see who it was.

Yuhi winced and got up. "If that's all you think I want, then your wrong." He then went to lay on his sleeping bag in the tent, head near the door. "I don't always think about that, but what I said about enjoying beauty is true. If you ever come to my house and saw my room and porch, maybe you'd understand that and me more."

Anekio sighed, "Men are so confusing, especially you." She stood up and wiped the dirt off her hands before putting the fire out. "I'm not too sure I have the brain capacity to understand you more. I was never one for the arts, if that's what you mean." She shurgged her shoulders lightly, opening the other flap to the tent and making sure not to step on Yuhi on her way in.

Yuhi laughed. "Men are confusing? Women are the most confusing creatures on this planet, especially you, Uchiha Anekio." He watched as she crawled in beside him and rolled onto his side, resting his head in his hand. "I thought you said you weren't tired?"

Ran had almost gotten close enough to the camp to see who was there, as she recognised one of the two voices audible, when the fire was suddenly put out. Unfortunate enough to be down wind, she stiffled a few coughs as the smoke clouded around her. Backing up to avoid being heard, she tripped over a branch and fell backwards. A loud snap came from the branch beneath her when she landed on it, and she froze, knowing that that probably would've been heard by the campers.
Cursing under her breath, Ran quickly worked on getting up and away to not risk getting caught, as her coughing was now probably giving her away even more.
((Thinking of Ran coughing reminds me of a fanflash... 'Dudes... you all need to, like *cough, cough* take a chill pill' ))

Yuhi was back out of the tent in a flash, a kuni already in his hand. "Maybe we should have set up traps in case Orochimaru had move followers out here." He scanned the woods but didn't see anything. "I'm going to go see what that was." he then ran off, leaving Anekio in the tent. He paused a little away from the tent and listened, barely making out the sound of someone...coughing? With a frown, Yuhi slowly moved towards whoever it was who'd been spying on them.
((*cue music* mi ya he, mi ya ho, mi ya ha, mi ya ah ah! xd Those ultimate flashes rule. The fun with Akatsuki were good too. "you lack p***s!" rofl ))
