 "Lovebirds, eh?", he chuckled, getting to his paws and pacing himself smoothely behind the two youngsters. It was funny, he wondered if Sukutu and Jasari couldn't see the way that they behaved around one another, how they looked at eachother, even the way that they carried themselves recently. It seemed to the firekin that the accusers were just as guilty as the accused. "Let's wait for the others you two, we can't very well go on without Kimeti... and it might be smart to get a belly full of water before going into that wasteland." His ears flattened back a bit. He remembered the desert... crossing it was hellish for him but he had lived there all his life. For the others he could only imagine- of course they had walked in the shade that he had cast to keep cool. They had all eaten and would probibly need to eat again once they reached his pride.
The whole ordeal had his stomache in knots. He was the last living male pureblooded firekin... though the pride had no idea of this but the truth would come out sometime. He didn't intend for the secret to die with him. His pride had the right to know that their pureblooded line was at its end and they'd have to accept that as the way life was. He'd not depart from Koho- not now when she was beginning to show affection for him. He loved her, and blood or pelt color was no reason to push that aside. He had left his lands to find love and he had found it. There was no reason that it should be shunned for such petty reasons.
He turned slightly to look her over... what a perfect creation of life. How could anything so beautiful be seen as unclean? There was nothing imperfect about her. She was lean and strong with firey red eyes that shone bright with the determination of her spirit but glistened with a hidden tenderness. Her face was stern and proud, noble and strong. Her coat was bright and silky, a pale gold that bled into white with red markings along her powerful shoulders. He couldn't help but be beside himself with flattery that she liked -him- of all creatures. A big... red...wuss.

"Ah, yes I almost forgot." With the thought of the tasteless grain sand of the desert Jasiri's mouth suddenly became dry. She made her way towards the watering whole, turning her head to call Sukutu, "Come on Suku, come get a drink with me." She smiled and stared at the crystal clear watering hole ahead. Without much thought, she began to speed off towards the water. When she came to the waters edge sheplunged head long into the cool waters. She quickly came up to the surface, her fur wet and gleaming in the mid day sun. She shook off the excess water, and laughed, slashing Sukutu as he got near.

Sukutu was quite quick to follow the adolescent, blinking as he was suddenly pelted by droplets of water from Jasiri's coat, his violet eyes looking bemused for a second before he smirked at her and lowered his head to drink.
The cold water soothed his dry throat, and seeing as there was a lot, it would do him fine do just drink it all down.
His eyes wandered to the young female next to him and a mischevious glint lit his eyes before he slowly put one paw in the water, suddenly he thrashed it out aiming the clear liquid at her and giving a rather smug grin her way.

 Sarabi awoke suddenly, her long golden body tense with fear and anger. For a moment, she was in the past and the sound of approaching paws were those of one of the brutes that had taken over the pride. Fever burned behind her eyes, unnoticed as she slitted them, poised to leap up and sink her claws and teeth deep into the intruder. A savage growl silently circled in her chest, seeking to bubble up her throat.
