Bloop81 I'm sure they won't delete the guild unless you put in a reason. It probably won't respond. As for the pocket trumpet, it sounds adorable! Widle twumpet that can fit in your... pocket... whee I wouldn't play a different trumpet unless I really had to. I adore my trumpet. *sigh* Pocket trumpets can't really fit in pockets...except if you have really big pockets like Bondage pants type pockets...i've tried.

Hello, I'm new to this guild. I own one trumpet and one coronet. Between the two I have 5 mouthpieces. My coronet is Getzen and my trumpet is Grand. The Getzen definitely plays better.

My band director came up to me today and told me that I should try doing NYSSMA, and I'm probably going to consider it...

Hey everyone, I'm new here ^_^ I've been playing the trumpet for 5 years now and love it! The only trumpet I own is an old yamaha one with a regular 7C mouthpiece, but I love playing it anyway.
So how many of you guys have been to solo and ensemble festival? Over the years I've gotten three different I's for solos and a II for a duet last year. smile

For someone looking to buy a trumpet (particularly for jazz), what brand/style would you all recommend?

I might be getting a trumpet tomorrow!!! I've been learning on the school's cornet in the hope of marching trumpet next year, because we're really short on them, and I play flute and piccolo. So I'll play those in class and trumpet in marching band and possibly jazz band senior year. But first I actually have to GET a trumpet, because the cornet is crap.
*fingers crossed* I really want my own trumpet! blaugh

Sminx For someone looking to buy a trumpet (particularly for jazz), what brand/style would you all recommend? I'm not sure about a jazz band but I've got a 30 year old Yamaha that still works so I highly recommend them

I have one trumpet. I want to get another one...but... yeah. Anyway, its a Bach, like most school quality trumpets. It sucks, though. It always sounds like theres something stuck in it. AND I JUST FREAKIN CLEANED IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No matter what trumpet I have, something always seems to start sticking, no matter how well I clean it, or how many times I take it in to get fixed. sweatdrop So I've just learned to deal with it. My latest one (some Chinese brand, I think. Not sure) seems to be doing fine, aside from the bruises I've been giving it.
Been workin' on my NYSSMA solo. *thumbs up*
