It was easier, with more experience under his belt. The room seemed smaller somehow, and the single remaining gleaming blessing in the shadow of the shelf seemed more attainable than it ever had. His foot broke through a crumbling board with a sickening sensation, and he yanked it back. Getting in a hurry.

And now time to wander back. But first, a long trip through the park, through the rusted screws and imploded concession stands and bramble-grown ticket boots.
