Gage nodded towards the scroll that Death Spank rolled over to him. He couldn't help but laugh as the Jonin made a fool of himself. 'And to think there is a jutsu that prevents that...' He thought as he regained his composure. Gage removed his left hand from his pocket, extended it a few seconds, and let a think layer of chakra pour over his hand. He waited until he was sure he had a prefect layer of chakra. He closed his eyes as he readied himself. Gage began to mingle his fire nature in with his chakra until they became one. 'Let's do this...' He thought as he was ready to complete this jutsu.

Gage began to focus more molded chakra to the center of the palm of his hand. He felt his palm grow warm and waited until he felt heat waves on his face before completely releasing the molded chakra all over his hand. He opened his eyes and looked as his left hand burned. He closed his fist and raised it in the air and brought it hard on the ground. He watched as the ground he hit became scorched and how the fire on his hand went out. 'This is just a little too easy, lets try both hands...' Gage thought as he walked over too a stump.

Gage withdrew his right hand from his pocket and extended it even with his left. He began to excrete chakra onto both hands and waited until he was sure that he wouldn't get burnt. He had too many failed experiences to take any chances. He closed his eyes and began to his chakra and fire nature into his left hand just as he did before, but this time he had to send the same amount of molded chakra into his right hand. He focused his chakra into his palms as if they where one hand and wasn't surprised when his hands became warm and he felt heat waves on his face. He immediately let the fire nature take over and both hands erupted, just as his left did before. He smiled as he saw that he did well. 'Now let's see some power...' He thought as he clasped his hands together and brought them over his head. "HAAAA!" He screamed as he slammed his flaming fist hard onto the stump, throwing sparks, splinters, igniting the stump, as well as extinguishing the fire on his hands. He moved back to admire his work, then noted to Death Spank. "I think it would be time for some water jutsu..." He said as he flashed a thumbs up to the Jonin.

»Kaze felt very praised as Shinji did just that. Just about when they were about to continued with the original plan, Shinji said he then led the way back to the 15ft foot wall Shinji had made earlier. When posed with the question,"... what would you two say to me if I said clime to the top of this wall?", Kaze felt the strongest urge to say just jump up there. Of course, he wasn't aware of it, he could jump up to 30ft in the air. What he was unaware of was that it was the Yonbi's personal influence over him. Or, he could have used the Shunko Style technique he learned from the previous Tsuchikage. But no, he didn't. He was learning from Shinji, so it would be best not to invalidate him.

As Shinji began to go into chakra control for the highly known Kinobori/Kabenobori jutsu, Kaze smirked. 'Good thing I learned proper chakra control while training...', he thought to himself. Now, after Shinji demonstrated the jutsu, Kaze found the same principles as the other, similar jutsu that he knew. This was better, though.

He watched Riko decide to go first in presenting the jutsu. It took her a moment, but she finally made it to the top. "My turn...", Kaze said to himself, placing one foot onto the side of the wall. He had regulated the chakra in that foot, and placed it on the wall so it would stick. He then quickly took his second step. Then third, and continued on. It was quite easy. So, he decided to walk faster.

Nearly to the top where Shinji and Riko were, Kaze lost the regulation needed to climb up, and slipped. His heart skipped a beat when one of his feet didn't stick to the rock, and he began to slide down the rock. He didn't channel enough chakra that time, the chakra regulation in both of his feet were off as he did a mini-panic. 'Gotta calm down.. Calm down..' As he was sliding, he took a deep breath. In, then out. Before he knew it, he wasn't falling anymore! Yay!

After that little malfunction, Kaze finally made it up to Shinji and Riko-- standing on the side of a rock, with his hair leaning in the direction towards the ground. So, it basically covered his face. That lead Kaze to notice something. As he stood on the opposite side of Shinji from where Riko was standing, he noticed something so obvious.. a baby could point it out. He put his hair, which continually got in his face, behind his ear and back of his head, then turned to look at Shinji and Riko and said,"Did you two notice.. We all have unusual hair colors?"

" I know I can manipulate earth, so Doton I guess. " Yukio said looking up at Deidalus. " But do you know where I could actually find someone or something to teach me to use this ability, because I think that this is my greatest strength. I don't know why, but everything else just feels weaker when I use it. " Yukio said sighing.

This lesson seemed to be somewhat more challenging for both Kaze and Riko, but it wasn't surprising at all. Chakra control, even if it is something you've trained before is not easy to apply in this manner and especially not when you have erratic chakras such as both Riko and Kaze to a lesser degree had. However, as was becoming quickly apparent to him, both of his students were more then up to the task and were learning quickly, and soon they were also both standing parallel to the ground along with him, firmly attached to the vertical wall.

"Why yes, I suppose we do. We make a natural team then!... Excellent work, both of you! You're both learning these skills rather well. Note however I said learning... not mastering. Mastering comes with experience. However, I have no doubt you will both master these abilities as quickly as you have learned them, so let's continue on." Pushing off of the wall, Shinji detached his chakra just at the point of kicking off the wall, giving himself enough of a foothold to propel himself several feet away as he twisted in the area to land gracefully on the training grounds' hardened soil once more. Waiting for his students to join him, Shinji then moved into the next jutsu. "Alright, for the next jutsu I want to teach, Riko needs to learn the prerequisite, so I will teach her that, but then I will teach you a katon jutsu as well Kaze, so just wait for one minute."

Turning to Riko, Shinji then proceeded with the lessen, "Alright Riko, now... before I can teach you the Kajuu no Doro technique, it's helpful to master the Gou no Doro technique, since really, Kajuu no Doro draws on the basics learned in the latter. So, let's get to it." Taking out the appropriate scroll from the case that was fetched for him, Shinji looked through the technique he was about to train carefully, reading all of it's details thoroughly. Normally, he wouldn't need to do this, but this was a technique that he didn't even know himself... but thankfully, given his aptitude for understanding and teaching such things, he didn't need to. He and Riko could learn it together.

"Alright Riko... the basis of this jutsu is simple. Now, we both know that chakra has the ability to alter and reform things, and we have already done this to a a degree with our earlier training. However, we're going to have to apply that concept in a different manner this time through. When forming the wall, our chakra helps to compact and strength the earth that we are pulling up, giving it strength and enabling it to withstand a lot of force. However, this technique does quite the opposite. In this case, our chakra invades the earth, breaking down the harder materials making the earth softer and softer until finally, it functions like mud, making anyone who would attempt to stand on it sink into it's depths, or at least be immobilized as they struggle to get free. Not even a ninja proficient in walking on water would be able to traverse it easily. It's simply a matter of directing your chakra to perform this new function by way of the hand seals and your own control. I'll try first and then you after me."

Running through the hand seals in his head, he moved through them one at a time, slowly at first so that Riko could follow along and memorize. Then he eventually ramped up the speed until he was comfortable with it, and then finally at full speed before crouching down and slamming his hands into the ground, forcing the chakra into the ground. "Doton: Gou no Doro!" Forcing his chakra into the earth, Shinji directed it as the scroll had detailed as it radiated out through the ground beneath him and slowly broke it down into softer and softer earth. The landscape instantly began to change around him, slowly at first, allowing Riko enough time to perhaps jump away and escape with her speed. Soon however, the ground would begin to cave in on itself and appear to be melting until finally the surface of the earth looked like a large moat of mud in an eight foot radius around Shinji, leaving him crouched on a small outcropping of solid ground. "There... success. It's pretty deep too Riko, about 6 feet. It's enough to slow anyone's approach, or if it can be cleverly hidden, serve as a trap. Now you try it."

"And You! He yelled to Kaze as if he was trapped on some desert island far away, "I noticed in your file that you've managed to neglect your Fire resistance training... as you should know, this is rather dangerous. As such, I can teach you the Bounetsu no Jutsu, which will enable you to use your Katon techniques without causing harm to yourself, which is obviously important. It requires no hand seals and over time, it will simply become something that you do naturally without even thinking it. The premise is simple, you create a shield of chakra around your hand, coating it with a thin layer before channeling your chakra to produce the flames. This way, when the flame is formed, it does not cause any damage to your flesh. Here, I'll show you."

Holding his hand out to Kaze, Shinji channeled a thin veil of dark red chakra over his hand which would be barely noticeable if Kaze hadn't been watching. The thin veil would seem much like that he formed when utilizing the Kinobori no jutsu, only much thinner. Of course, this thin layer of chakra would never hold his weight and attach it to something, but against flame, it would be the perfect barrier between it and his hand. After the veil was formed on his hand, he then performed the Houka Hira no Jutsu, producing a small ball of flame in his hand, holding it out to show Kaze how the thin layer of channeled chakra buffered his hand from harm. "See?... I could hold this all day without a problem. If you can master this, it should help give you at least some protection from your own techniques... and maybe even from other Katon techniques in a small way."

Due to her nervousness, Riko remained silent for the most part while Kaze began his own attempt at the wall walking technique. 'Man...this is really strange and this nervousness of mine isn't really helping with my chakra control...' "Ah..." Riko gasped softly when she saw Kaze begin slipping but release a relieved sigh when he regained his footing. 'This jutsu really is dangerous...if any of us were to fall and hit our backs...yeah...' Once Kaze was up, Riko turned her head to face Shinji eager to continue on with training when she heard Kaze's comment. Taking a moment to ponder his words, Riko could see where he was coming from since between just the three of them, they already had three rare hair colours that's not usually seen on most teens. 'Guess Iwagakure really does have a wide assortment of people. I think Kaze mentioned something like this before as well or was that Kai-san?" Shrugging it off, Riko heard Shinji speak and smiled in pride as she once more met up to the expectations of her role model, yes, Riko had made Shinji her role model. Why shouldn't she? He's the Konaga clan head, her senpai, a good teacher, and he's like a older brother figure to her as well. 'Now if only I could become a good shinobi like him...got to work harder.'

As Shinji suddenly pushed off the wall and jumped down towards the ground, Riko blinked a few times in surprise as her mind registered the action. Once registered, Riko quickly followed suit and jumped downward making sure to position herself properly to ease her fall. Landing somewhat gracefully, Riko turned towards her teacher attentively. Soaking in his words, Riko nodded at the right parts and when Shinji performed the technique, Riko barely jumped away in time due to her complete focus being centered on his demostration. Throughout the demo, Riko had made sure to make mental notes on various stuff like how deep the jutsu was and how much area it covered. 'Okay, I think I remember everything of importance. Guess it's my turn now to perform it...'

Since Riko saw and knew what to expect of the technique, she repositioned herself further back to give room for her technique to appear fully. 'It wouldn't do if it mashed together with Shinji-san's.' Replaying the handseals over in her head, Riko went through the motion several times without chakra before finally breezing though the series of hand signs in one go. Concentrating her chakra in her hand, Riko bent down and slammed both hands, palms face down onto the dirt ground. 'Alright, now to soften up the earth...' For the next part, Riko began sending her chakra into the surrounding earth and using her chakra to compact the earth, Riko watched as the ground around her slowly give way to mud. Not letting herself get distracted by the small success, Riko continued to focus her chakra into the earth and softening it till it liquidfied. Eventually a moat 6ft deep and of 8ft radius wrapped around Riko's small island of earth. Gou no Doro [1/1]

Remaining rooted to her spot on her little makeshift island, Riko began waving her right arm towards her teacher. "Um, Shinji-san! I'm done so...how do I get back? Should I jump?"

Doton: Gou no Doro (Earth Release: Mud Moat)
Description: This jutsu converts the area immediately surrounding the performer of it into a a deep murky moat full of mud. The moat is at least 6 ft deep and four feet in radius (6 feet radius for genin, 8 feet for chuunin, 10 feet for Jounin, 15 feet for Sennin). Due to the nature of the moat, water walking can not be performed on it. Only an area of 1½ feet in diameter remains of solid, dry land for the user to stand on.
