"But she's still young," Kara replied, "Though... I understand her need to be good at something...."
She took some carrots and began to wash them carefully, brushing whatever grim that did not come off earlier.
"Does it bother her?"

Haradhel nodded and picked out a few naekeurtsl leaves.
"I wish it didn't," she admitted, "but it does. And I can understand why it does, I used to be the same way ... but when we talk to her, she insists that she doesn't want to wait, she wants to learn everything until she finds something that she's good at."
She laughed softly. "I can't help but feel that she'll turn out like me, and that fighting will be what she turns out to be amazing at, naturally."

"Or keep trying until she is good at it?" Kara offered.
She had known about Arwen's attempts at drawing, not that she minded all children drew it was just a normal thing. Though it kind of reminded her of the way Skye drew at times.
"You think she might turn out to be a fighter?"

Haradhel laughed.
"You should see Ahren after the two of them have a fight," she grinned. "Poor Ahren ... and Arwen hasn't even started her training yet, but Ahren has."
She chuckled again.
"Yes ... I believe she will be an excellent fighter," she murmured with a smile. "I just hope that she can settle down a bit and find other things that she's good at as well."

"I'm sure she will in time," Kara murmured thoughtfully.
She set the carrots into one of the baskets before sorting through a few strawberries.
"At least that's what I tell myself when the children insist on doing everything possible in whatever they're trying to do..."

Haradhel smiled at Kara softly as she set the leaves aside and reached for something new.
"Well, it's good at least that they want to learn," she reassured Kara. "There are enough kids who don't want to learn, be happy that your children aren't like that. I'm glad, personally, that Ahren's at the point in his education that it's almost all outside, hands on experience, because trying to teach him to read and write and arithmatic ... well ..."
She laughed.
"Let's just say, some days he could be an absolute terror, and I couldn't teach him a thing."

Kara giggled, "There are somethings that are easier to teach than others. Writing, reading and arithmatic hasn't been so problematic... history though is difficult for some. Actually no.. that's not true... Trisha wasn't fond of arithmatic... there were a lot of doodles in the margins."
She was trying to recall what it was that Trisha doodled, there was quite a bit actually.

Haradhel smiled. "Ahren was just fidgety, would never listen. Arwen was always eager to learn whatever she could ... she's still learning, for that matter, though really she doesn't need to. On the other hand, she also does her practical lessons, just like Ahren, so I can't complain."

"Hmm... true...." Kara murmured thoughtfully, "It's good though... that they're both doing something they like. I know Arwen is learning to be good at something, but she must enjoy it to some degree."
She smiled softly at the thought, it kind of made her feel old even though she shouldn't feel old thinking about the children taught and now adults.

Haradhel smiled. "Yes ... I think she enjoys learning the way she is. I think we'll start training her fighting soon, though I fear for Ahren when we do."
She laughed.
"On the other hand, it might give him a reason to stop acting up the way he does," she added, her eyes bright with laughter.

"Do the two like to bother each other?" Kara asked.
Not at all sure what Haradhel meant by acting up, though she was aware that he could have a temper, though he hadn't had one since the day the men had left for the Hunt.

Haradhel shrugged one shoulder. "Sibling rivalry," she said simply. "It's ... what siblings do, I guess. I can't say that I have any personal experience, or anything, considering my brothers weren't allowed to touch me. Still, we fought ... or rather, argued, all the time, and Elrohir had the same with his brothers. It's just part of life."
She smiled. "But they love each other, and they would do anything necessary to save each other if something happened."
And that after all was the important part.

"Yes, that is quite normal," Kara mused thoughtfully.
It kind of reminded her of her own sister even though she hadn't see her in a very, very long time.
At the moment Miyu came padding in, even though she had the day off from learning and was allowed to play, even she liked to have some quiet time. Without Jaseth to cling to, or her brother, or one of her brothers, she liked to cling to Kara's skirts, which was what she did.

Haradhel smiled down at Miyu as she passed her.
"Rosie went off with her brother, I suppose?" she asked softly. "I hope you had fun with her."
The girl was after all eager enough, just very shy.

Miyu nodded happily quite glad to have had a chance to play the way she did.
"It was a lot of fun," she told Haradhel softly, "We played a lot."
She smiled at that and then snuggled into Kara's skirts.
