Fenrir prowled out onto the streets. Tyrshida had alerted him as to what was about to happen. He headed towards Trodan's stronghold. He wasn't about to give up the opportunity to kill off his half-brother. Not for the world...

[Time warp anyone?]

Time crawled in Signet for the first time in a long while, multiplying the tension that had long since been close to the breaking point. Lina watched as the moon darkened and gained a the color of rust...like old blood. She looked away and rested her gaze upon Milan as the group moved deeper into the Rajen territory. The lycan warrior's eyes had a feral look to them, just as Remus had when the bloodmoon had risen.

Lina stopped as a low howl filled the area, the sound rolling off her body and the others as it traveled all around the city. Was this the cry of Ashra?

"This is incredible!" Salen said, his voice barely heard under the howl, "Such power...from a child.."

"No," Milan answered, her grey eyes going comepletely feral as she turned into her hybrid form and took off towards the stronghold, "Such power is from a god."

"Milan wait!" Lina called out, running after her, "It's too dangerous to go towards the stronghold straight on!"

"No it is not!" Milan answered, a growl at her throat, "Nothing is dangerous enough to keep me away from Lord Ashra!"

"Is she crazy?" Salen answered, running close behind Lina, "She'll be killed!"

Lina frowned and ran faster.

Remus... "I'm coming mother..." Remus ran on all fours through lycan territory. His mother's voice echoed through his mind like a memory recalled from a long time past. The voice sounded to his left. He ran as fast as he could the feeling that invaded his mind reaching a point of almost pure ecstasy. He reached the end of the street and ground to a halt. A shadow of fear crossed his heart as he looked upon the house of Fenrir. Remus...

The voice of his mother called him again and he hardened his heart and discarded his fear. He ran quickly across the street, hiding in the shadows of the massive front door. His breathing quickened to match his heart beat as he took a firm hold on the handly and slipped through the door as silently as a wraith.

He shifted to his wolf form, diminishing his chances of being seen. The red carpet under his feet seemed to radiate a fickle warmth. He had lived in this house many years before. He and Fenrir had played here, before they became mortal enemies. The house seemed just as inviting as the proverbial spider to the fly. He warily moved further in. Remus... I am coming as quickly as I can... where are you calling from...?

He heard the call again and turned down the hall. He stopped as the hallway became a dead end. I remember! Without a moment more hesitation he nosed under the carpet, revealing the paw shaped lock mechanism in the floor. He place his forefoot in the lock and dodged inside as the wall rotated.

Once inside the hidden passage, he ran through the hall. The torches sprang to life as he passed them, in the same manner as they had for Fenrir. However, instead of the normal fire for Fenrir, these torches burned with a soft blue that made the hall appear as a sort of constant twilight.

Remus finally halted as he entered the stone room. He became human once more as he looked upon the grave of his mother. Slowly, he moved forward, a hand outstretched to the casket. He said nothing, he simply laid his hand upon the cold stone. He knelt, respecting one of the few lycans who had thought like him. As he did so, a light formed on the crescent moon as it had for Fenrir.

The light was a soft blue, like the torches, and it pulsed softly as though the soul that provided it was inviting her son to contact it. As Remus's eyes looked upon it, it broke away from the moon and swirled around him, covering his body.

Remus felt alive in a different way than normal. He felt in his very blood that he had earned a power from his mother. It was as though the life of a soul now traveled through his veins. He relished the feeling and bowed again to his mother's casket as the light faded away from his body, the life feeling still in him.

A massive stone basin then burst into life with the same blue flames as the torches. As he approached, it seemed to burn more fiercly than before. When he was about three feet away, it erupted forth with brilliant splendor. An object flew from it, spinning in the air.

Without thinking, Remus reached out a hand and caught it. The objects weight was familier to him. It's feel was like a trusted friend. He looked down to discover a can sword. It seemed identical to the one he had lost at the hands of Dorien. He held it reverently with both hands before grabbing the top and drawing out the blade.

Once this was accomplished a figure appeared, created from the flames in the basin. "Remus, this is the final gift I can give to you. Fenrir is lost to me now and though it pains me to do this, I am forced to ask one of my sons to kill the other. Use my power well, and please... accomplish this task in my name. Let peace finally reign. Ask your wife to aid you with my gift, and never... ever... forget..." The flames in t basin returned to a normal flame, shrank, and then died away.

Remus turned from the basin without a word. His eyes sparkled with a vigor he had lost. He hadn't felt this way since Lina had agreed to his proposal. He gripped the cane sword tightly then sheathed it and made his way back out into the world above. Slipping out of the house and onto the streets. He was the same lycan with a renewed passion to his purpose.

[Lyra....I'm going to get you...]

Two eyes watched as Milan and the others ran towards the Sulla stronghold unhindered, a grin appearing upon his face before those eyes moved away and returned to the darkness that was now over the building.

So they have come... Troden grinned before moving deeper into the base, followed quickly by three Rajen elders. Let the games begin.

Meanwhile Sabriel and the rest of the Rajen army charged straight towards the Lotus base, a grin on her face as she smelled the lycans not too far away. Master, the attack has begun.

Troden sent a mental nod before moving towards the front of the base, Good. Keep them Leaders and those Lotus fools away for as long as you can. I shall end this quickly.

[Eheh...Sorry? sweatdrop ]

Milan burst through the door, breathing heavily before returning to her human form, her eyes looking wildly around until she ran down the nearest hallway, still followed closely by Lina and Salen who had long since given up on trying to get her to stop.

"So...we're playing her bodyguard until she reaches Ashra right?" Salen asked and Lina nodded, "Alright...then why and how did we ever get in this place so easily?"

"It seems Troden has decided to play this by rules of the hunt," Lina said quietly, "Let the prey come to you."

"I see..." Salen replied with a small smirk, "Then I hope he knows what happens to prey when they are cornered..."

Remus ran rapidly through the streets. He stopped long enough to find Lina's scent. It was accompanied by Salen's and Milan's. "I guess I'm running late..." With that thought he put on an extra burst of speed and ran towards the Sulla stronghold.

One figure appeared at the end of the hall. his long white hair covering his face slightly as he watched the trio coming towards him, "Sir Troden doesn't care about Milan." he said, allowing the lycan to move past him, "But as for you two..."

Another figure came up behind them, a short blonde hair man with glasses who held a jagged sword in his hand, "He wants you to die."

Meanwhile, the thrird elder and Troden followed Milan through another corridor, and since their guide was blinded by her loyalty, it was relatively easy to stay closeby. This is too easy.. Troden thought with a grin.

As Remus ran through the entrance to the stronghold he saw the two elders squaring off against Lina and Salen. He had to make a quick decision, and after sizing up the Rajens, he decided that Lina and Salen could handle themselves. While the Rajens were occupied, he ran past them, quickly closing the gap between him and Trodan. He could smell Trodan's scent growing stronger. He quickly shifted to his hybrid form, still running and losing no speed.

Roisin hummed softly to herself as she completed the symbol in the center of a small ink painting upon the wall of the corridor. She had waited aside for the lycan and the Lotus members to run past, then moved out to do her work.

Seconds after she moved out of the way the symbol flared, and spread around the painting--a rudimentary explosive. Carefully placed the explosion was muffled and the hall collapsed enough to block passage. It would bar reinforcements coming in, and to trap the others inside. The doctor moved to an adjacent hall, her brush trailing along the wall in a long line of ink. If they did find this way, she had no reservations at destroying the base.

Lina and Salen came to a stop and Milan continued forward, both of their hands upon their the hilts of their swords, "These two are not ordinary Rajen lackeys..." Salen said, unsheathing his sword, "So I'm guessing these are elders, as old as we are I bet."

Lina nodded, unsheathing her twin swords, "Then we shall fight like old times." Both of them moved back to back, watching as Remus blasted past them before charging towards their opponents.

Milan suddenly ran faster, her fist tightening as she met a dead end, but she didn't stop. She ran straight towards the wall and slammed her fist into it, instantly running past a crumbling hole, "Ashra!" she called out as she moved deeper into what appeared to be a stone tunnel. Already she could feel the power emanating from it and the sound of Ashra's soft voice whispering her name, "Ashra, I'm coming!"

Troden and the other elder slid to a stop and watched as she blasted through the wall with one punch. But the familiar scent of another snapped Troden out of his shock, "Raziel," Troden said, but the man already was gone, going through the tunnel.

Troden grinned before running after the two, "I'll let your brother deal with you. I have a Leader to destroy..."

The white haired man grined and fliped backwards, moving into the nearest hallway before his own weapons appeared in the form of a double-edged sword, "I'll finish this quickly."

Meanwhile the other elder was already charging towards Salen, a deranged look in his eyes as he began to take the offensive fiercely and quickly.

Fenrir had taken a different route through the stronghold and gave Trodan a knowing look as he passed him and stopped in the middle of the hallway to face his brother.

Remus pulled out his renewed cane sword. There was a resounding ring as he whipped it out of the sheath and swung it to point at Fenrir. "You!" As the point leveled at Fenrir there was a resounding bang. A bolt of lightning lanced from the sword toward Fenrir. Fenrir threw himself out of the way and the bolt shot over Trodan's shoulder, missing his head by inches.

Remus had been thrown backwards from the force of the shot and was now staring at the blade. "That is definitely not normal!"

Milan gasped as she finally came to a stop infront of what appeared to be a breathing mound. It was massive and glowing with the color of rust, the same as the lunar eclipse. From deep inside, she could barely see the small form of Ashra floating within the center, his body naked but thankfully covered by what appeared to be his own long black hair.

"Oh Ashra..." Milan said, bowing slightly before turning back to her hybrid form, "I shall release you now!" It was then that she smelled the others chasing her and turned around, "If you take on more step Troden and Rajen, I will bite of your heads slowly..." she said through a growl.

"You are right," Lina answered, raising her right sword, "This will be quick." she then charged towards him spinning lightly as she aimed for his neck while her other sword slashed his right side.

Saled barely had time to block he was moving so fast. Hmm...this will be harder than I thought...

Remus and Fenrir weren't even bothering with words at this point. They both had their weapons out. Each was breathing heavily, their attacks matching each other blowl for blow. Their eyes never left each other, each glance, each movement, each stroke conveying the anger and hatred they had for each other.

The most direct routes into the base were demolished, and flicking the brush the hallway Roisin had just traversed it too was closed off. Now what goal was it they wanted? Oh, yes!

Tucking away the brush she drew out Tarot and ran past Fenrir and Remus as they locked blades. No time, unfortunately, for a snarky comment. She plunged into the tunnel after Troden, Milan, and the elder in a small plume of plaster dust.

Her coming down the tunnel was heralded by a dragon . The doctor was taking no chances, and put forth an extra amount of will. It latched to the ceiling above Troden, staring directly at Milan, a sinous tongue tracing dangrous chops. Roisin couldn't speak-- her focus was keeping the creature on the physical plain rather than simply an illusion.
