Eilynne moved into the gaze so that Lycear could see her as well. "I worry for your fair city, dragonlord. If you are experiencing what we are, I fear that we are in for more such attacks. The dragons seemed to be set on a specific purpose and then halfway through, changed course. It was....very strange. The likes of which I have not seen before."
She buzzed irritatedly for a moment and shook from side to side then flew up and down in front of his face, making sure she had his attention. "It's not a game, honest! Listen! You know what you're s'posed to see, but you're not seeing it. All you see is sand no matter what's out there. Try now. Look out and tell me what you see." Her glow dulled for a moment and then brightened. "A pirate gave it to you right, silly? Then yup! They take pride in their curse-ed objects."

Hunter let himself be fed and catered to for the moment. but he was never one of idle resting when there was loot to gain and sands to sail. already he wanted to get out of this cave and find the next treasure trove.
"It's not bad. though I imagine Bones is not to thrilled with your attempt to muscle in on his territory."
though a glance at the drawer where the rum was...and back to Gem patting her leg.
"Gem's tougher than you think. she can go without a meal from time to time."

She could sense if not feel the comfort that washed over Kaznec at the...well somewhat sight of his father. If anything the older dragon's voice was providing comfort. It was a good thing for him, because stress and worry would do him no good right now.
Of course as Eilynne moved to make sure she'd be in view, his own Seon took it's measures to produce a copy as well. "Another pirate hm, well I knew when I said resourceful it was true, but didn't expect to be that resourceful. But I suppose that's a good thing." Quieting a moment and listening to what there was to be said and what they wanted to know. Wild dragons...whom everyone really knew were dragon-folk who chose to go rogue. Dangerous bunch from time to time. "Well...nothing of that sorts...still have our whirlpool problems and two quakes since you left. I'll make sure we keep an eye out for such things. Are you all alright? Attacks of those sorts aren't just everyday squabbles." And he worried about his son, what with almost losing him once already and having lost his mother.
"Oh stop flattering. Now you be good and don't flail too much. Elf, I leave him to you for the moment. If you don't mind, I need to make sure things are ready and then get these ships moving, not good to sit in the middle of the sandseas at night, no matter how tucked away you are. Don't worry Hunty, I'll treat your girl well." Thusly exiting the cabin and then making her way along the Gale Claw, getting a status report from Robins before making her way onto the Chimera and to the little group that were talking to lights. A point to Jaebelltiah. "You, little white dragon...I think I'm going to need your help."

Caden looked at the glowing ball with wide eyes as it seemed to just shake in a violent way, he felt like he may have ticked off the little orb but when it went about telling him that she wasn't playing a game he did believe her at that moment. So with a sigh he listened to what she told him and raised the glass to his eye, staring out with it and indeed all he could see was sand and that upset him a little bit. "Alright I get your point..." He muttered and collapsed the spyglass before putting it away, great he got a damn cursed object, though still at least he could add it to his collection back at home.

"It gives us the opportunity to rely on others in case something like this happens, I suppose. Captain Neerem is very competent and Lady Eilynne trusts her as well." Giving the Laerethe a look at that and then shifting slightly to allow her talk to his father as well. "Nothing serious, I hope. Were the buildings that were damaged last time repaired in time?" But a pause at his father's question, biting his lip momentarily and glancing down to Jae then back up again. "I had to change to keep them back and avoid excessive damage to the ships... But one of the elves was skillful enough to help with my injuries and Eilynne took care of Jae as well." He always answered truthfully, never felt the need to hide his weakness from his father. His eyes moved momentarily to the captain as she requested Jae's help, and he smoothly released his hold on her hands to let her go.

She catalogued Lycear's list of calamaties and nodded. Seemed like things were following no particular pattern. She paused for a moment and then rested a hand on Kaz's arm, she nodded. "Your son and Jaebelltiah were both very helpful during the unfortunate occurence. They stepped up and took care of things the best way they knew how. It was refreshing to know I could count on them." A pause for a moment and she frowned, "No other shards have shown up in Ilindal?"
"Cheer up, it's not so bad. Maybe you can trade it for a non-curse-ed one?" She flitted about his head and then made a high pitched sound. "Come on Caden! Cheer up..or I'll have to find a way to make you."
Shyrae nodded and watched Gem leave then shrugged. "Everyone has to eat at some point or another. Captain Nereem has been so busy overseeing your ship's repairs and her own men that she hasn't had a chance to eat yet. Of course I would never step on Galley's toes." Though she had to chuckle softly. "Actually he was quite understanding, even handed me a special spice to use in your soup. Said it was one of your personal favorites. I think we hit it off quite nicely." She finished feeding him the soup and then set the bowl on a side table. "Now, you need more rest before you can do anything. No rum, no commanding and no sex. Savvy?"

Caden looked up from his spyglass that was now in it's pouch and chuckled a little bit. "Don't worry about it Areesa, I thank you for showing me about this stupid curse, but I might as well keep it so that way no one else needs to worry about getting it and besides I have a few good rare items I home, I can just add this to that collection." He grinned to that as he closed the bag that contained the spyglass. "So thanks again Areesa." So with a light sigh he turned to the Commander and Eilynne, seemed that they were busy so what was he do to next? He then spotted Bell and smiled a little bit. "Hey Bell you alright after everything?" He asked, after all he did watch her fight and boy did she take a hit from those dragons.

A slight growl there.
"I am not a damned invalid. I can walk, and I can command, and damn it if I want some rum or a piece of elvish, human, or dragon a** I can get some!"
And just to prove the point, he pushed her back some and started getting himself up.

Shyrae merely rolled her eyes and pushed herself back up into a sitting position, lifting a hand and shoving him back down, then very calmly using that same to rune him into place. She sniffled slightly and then cursed as her nose began to bleed, but to her it had been worth it. He wouldn't be able to leave the bed at all. "That's no way to talk about those on this ship, Captain. And currently, you can do none of the above. So why dont' you just settle back and rest for a bit longer, hmm?"

"Wait a minute...what did you just do to me."
narrowing of eyes...and a slight smirk, reaching out his hand and catching a drop of blood from her nose.
"Your power, it seems, comes with a price. I can test my bonds forever..and always while you're playing doctor. but how long can you hold this in place and keep me here."

She shook her head nad laughed, "Now that's a question I don't have to answer and am not going to. Though you wouldn' tbe able to do anything about it even if you knew." Of course she truly would have loved to diabuse him of the notion that he could win in this situation but somehow his challenge seemed to be the bit of fun she'd been missing and craving lately. "Hmm, well I suppose there's only one way to find out, isn't there? Do you really want to test my prowess, Captain? You might find yourself with a situation you won't like very much."

"I'm already in a situation I don't like very much. But you I think are forgeting what you've been told. remember I said I had dreams about bargains struck, things that were my burden to bear?"
another small smirk.
"And take a look around. how would I be able to 'prepare in advance' for a necromancer with what you see available to you."
hmm. was he bluffing, acting like there was some hidden ace up his sleeve so she might back down...or did he have an ace up the sleeve like he was hinting at.

She just laughed, "Nothing you can offer will get me to let you go, Hunter, so wipe that thought right out of your mind." Settling back on her side, well prepared to stay in there and watch him. She'd taken care of her older brother more times than she could count and he'd often gotten himself into situations just like Hunter. The main difference was that he knew Andalian runes and she'd had to find another method of keeping him down. "Preparing for a necromancer is a far cry from preparing for me. I'm not a necromancer and my abilities don't require the same things. If you can handle my dear friend though, I should be a piece of cake, yes?" Letting him think her powers were limited just to see what he could do.

"You're power relies on symbols. runes. I heard about your healing method in the city after the quake. while I may not know exactly how it works it obviously, as you've just demonstrated, takes a physical toll on your body."
though a slight look of annoyance.
"I don't know how you do this runecraft, or why you don't need to draw it on objects or such like the Commander has on his person, but I can find out, and then I can make you exert more energy. eventually you'll tire out or bleed to death."
okay, so he was bluffing. His bargains didn't involve that kind of personal power.
"So how about we test the sands a bit."
and he made a motion to get out of bed, and when he couldn't, just tried it again, and again, and again. would it strain the energies used to keep it working..and make her bleed more, or was it the initial usage that caused her bleeding?
"Or I could shoot you in the hand or something. threaten to break your fingers or the like."

"Some does," she agreed with a shrug. "But I have other talents that require something different entirely. I just happen to be using the one that relies on the symbols right now." She lazily moved at his blustering, well aware that he couldn't move off of the bed. His other threats had no visible effect on her either since she knew even if he did find out about Andalian runes, it would do him no good. She chose what level runes to use and she knew how high she could go without adverse effects. He wasn't privy to that information.
Watching him try, she almost felt sorry for him but did not let up once in her hold on him, nor was she planning to. "You could. But you don't have your gun on you now and I might just let you break a piece of me just so I can put it back into place. Remember, I have healing powers, Hunter. Which is what put you in this bind in the first place." Smiling rather sweetly at him, she shrugged. "Perhaps the great Captain Deacon has met his match? Maybe if you can convince me, I'll let you go. In the meantime, you're welcome to try any method you like, as long as you don't injure yourself or tire yourself out too badly."
