Astaroth shook his head at her apology, suppressing the frown that was trying to surface. He wasn't hurt very badly... just a minor discomfort. When she started fidgeting, the melancholy reached up and caught her hand not about the wrist but lacing his fingers with hers. "This is better." It was as much to quell her nervous actions as it was to reassure her.
"I think we should..." He offered a smile in return but paused as Lelaus began speaking. Spies? Blue eyes narrowed as his mind worked at that piece of information. Had it been a Rakshasa that had infiltrated the city? Moving forward with Danna, his gaze over Graphtas, "Will they work for anyone? For us or our enemies?" Did they even have a sense of loyalty?
Daggart nodded, "Yeah~" They just got more and more interesting, Daggart found. As Cyphr caught his gaze, Daggart beamed back. He rather liked this whole idea of Monstrer Training... almost as much as he enjoyed making things.

Carefully slipping into the classroom, Yalitza remains quite as she listens to the Professor. She was actually glad that she hadn't missed to much of the class, in fact it look like things were just getting interesting. Pulling her quill and notebook from her bag, she leans against the wall. Out of everyone way, she would be able to keep a close eye on the Rakshasa, as well as the others in the class room.

Arwen watched the shift with a neutral expression, writing down the name and the words that Lelaus spoke. He seemed to be an exciteable Professor with a willing yet reluctant 'subject.' Perhaps he was uncomfortable because he - Graphtas - was acting as a 'subject' rather than a living, breathing creature. She watched him with curiosity, pausing in her note taking to really look at him.
Glancing over her dark shoulder, Eve smiled encouragingly, nodding. "I wont," she confirmed, puffing up a little as she turned her watchful gaze upon the two men. Her tough exterior left her in an exclamation of surprise as the creature showed his true form, orange eyes wide with intruige and surprise. She caught movement of another excited person - who seemed connected to Lelaus' posterior - causing her to grin broadly in interest.
How fascinating! Was he to be treated as a monster or an ally? And he did look cool! She found herself taking one slow step forward, watching with bright intruige.

Biwa was torn between hanging back and staying close to Eve, still using her as a shield between herself and the now rather furry... Rak...shasa...? Still, she felt more safe next to Eve than farther from Graphtas, and so she skittered along behind her new friend.
Shape-shifters...? Languages constrained only to their normal state? The images stuck with her, vivid and interesting, if frightening.

Khamsyn rushed through the hallways almost like he knew exactly where he was going. He didn't, but that didn't seem to stop him let alone slow him down in the least. After a few wrong turns, more than one near collision and somehow ending up in one of the bathrooms, he finally found the door he was looking for.
Rushing into the room, sure he was extremely late, he nearly crashed in to a group of Empyrean students clustered near the door. In fact, he pulled back so violently as he entered his feet slid out from underneath him and he ended up on his backside.
"Whoa! Sorry I'm tardy." he exclaimed rebounding to his feet as the heat of a embarassed blush radiated from his face. "I don't know what happened. I was dreaming away all nice and peaceful and such and then Waaaa! attacked by tomato people! I fell off the cliff and nearly drowned in my bedding. It was, needless to say, quite shocking. Of course that's when I noticed how late I was. Sorry again."
Noticing any bewildered looks his nye-incoherant rambles are likely to draw. His blush deepens and he retreats a step or two.
"Umm... I guess I'm babbling huh? Sorry, I get that way when nervous. I hope I didn't interrupt anything." he then notices the Rakshasa for the first time. "And apparently I did. So I'll just be over here."
Retreating to a quiet spot he smiles nervously and runs a hand through his hair. The short side unfortunately, thus still in the dark regarding his hair issue du jour. "Oh, I'm Khamsyn by the way."

Yalitza arches a brow as she glances towards Khamsyn. A small smiles across her lips as she remembers her first day of class, not as embrassing but still crazy nonetheless. Pushing her hair from her face, she smiles giving a small wave to him, before turning back towards the lesson. Looking out over the class, she was actually glad to see she wasn't the only one not sure about the Rakshasa.
Course it wasn't everyday that a shape shifter was in the school. Frowning she glances down at her notes, in hopes that just maybe she be able to hide the fact the Rakshasa was creeping her out.

Danna Held Astaroth's hand and relaxed visibly. She was alert and at rapt attention now, staring at the rakshasa as if to burn the image into her memory. She was not terribly interested in learning to care for or utilize monsters, but she did want to know about them. To understand their strengths and weaknesses was useful to noe who made Golems that could be designed to fight them or to protect Empyreans more completely... Danna took mental note after mental note. "Huh!" Cyphr piped, gaping up at Graphtas from around Lelaus. When Khamsyn made his bubbling entrance, Cyphr was distracted instantly. He peered the new student over, wracking his brain. Nope, didn't know that one yet. Cyphr offered a broad grin, openly amused by the rambling speech-patterns of the blue boy. But soon he is looking back at the Rakshasa, resisting the urge to stroke the stiff fur on his muscled forearm.

Lelaus swivelled his gaze to pick Astaroth out of the standing crowd of Empyrean students. "Yes, unfortunately, they will work for the Outsiders. But, the bright side is having done jobs for the Outsiders gives them knowledge of the workings and ways of Outsider life so they can better infiltrate and gather information."
"We are honourable." Graphtas grumbled, a little sourly. "We complete the job we are paid for and that is where it ends. We have no loyalty to one side or the other. We take no sides. When a job is finished, the information we have gathered is given to the employer. We do not keep copies, we do not resell it. It is not spoken of again." GRaphtas flashed his orange-irised eyes defiantly around the room, as if he were not chained in place at all.
Lelaus merely tutted. "Some, Graphtas, are honourable as you say. Like you are, for instance. But there are those foul few who give the rest a bad reputation. And those few will sell information for the right price. That's when things get sticky." Lelaus paused. "I'm afraid we can't keep Graphtas here for much longer, so if anyone has a Question they'd like to ask a real, live Rakshasa in the flesh, now's the time for words, my younglings!" Lelaus bristled his whiskers and grinned genially.

The lithe girl listened, still in posture, watching. Graphtas was surprisingly good with the students - especially the exciteable one all but poking at the Rakshasa - and far more patient than she had anticipated. There were many questions flitting about in her mind, especially with the bizarre incident with the Law Professor. Arwen actually jumped a little when Khamsyn was suddenly at the door, speaking rapidly about something or other, garnering a brief stare of muted surprise. She nodded once to the young man as he moved to take a seat, turning her focus back to the class at hand.
She lifted her quiet voice in question for the being, more for her own knowledge than for the rest of the class. "Graphtas," she addressed the shapeshifter kindly, "can you only change into what you've seen? If, say, one were to describe something, would that be sufficient or would you have had to have interacted with the person or object first?"
Eve reached behind to Biwa, giving her a reassuring squeeze on her slender shoulder. "It's okay," she smiled happily. She was greatly enjoying the class so far, especially seeing the Rakshasa with her own eyes. Turning her attention back to the chained being, she considered the Melancholy's question while awaiting an answer. Eyes skimmed over Graphtas, noting that he seemed more than physical fit to take care of himself, and he was obviously a creature of some learned capability. Why would he submit to this?
A brief flicker of her eyes was all that acknowledged the late student; she didn't mean to be rude, but there was a Rakshasa chained in the middle of the room. Somethings simply held her interest better than others. She craned her neck around, face aglow with interest while getting a better eyeful. "You...strike deals," she formulated slowly, searching for the words before they left her mouth, "but what...what is Rakshasa currency? To work for?" Eve smiled to herself; it was quite possibly the most complicated sentence she'd yet uttered, and the answer - be it food, precious items or otherwise - would be good to know when dealing with sentient beings in the future.

Khamsyn's abrupt entrance led to a startled Biwa edging even closer to Eve's back, one hand actually lightly hovering just atop the other girl's back, just in case. She calmed down fairly easily, though, and was finally able to peek around her day's guardian, trying to be brave and look at Graphtas without visible fear. It was a hard battle, but eventually she said, haltingly, "And... and do... do you have cities? Do you live with your kind...? Or are you alone?"
If they took payments of some sort, it seemed logical to her that they must have a city where other Rakshasa would trade their payments for goods and the like, the way she did with her coins. Without a city, what would payment be good for?

Even though Mat had technically already taken this class by tutoring with Lelaus, he'd really had nothing else to do at the moment... so he had followed the rest of the students into the classroom - looking forward to maybe seeing some new creatures or something. And so far, he hadn't been disappointed. Though he was managing to keep quiet for the moment and let the others talk and ask questions ... golden-hued eyes sparkled slightly as the Sanguine watched from the back of the room, leaning against a wall. Morrow was also quiet, eyes wide as he watched the Rakshasa. He'd already sketched a couple of little drawings in his notebook, alongside a few scribbled notes and such-like. For his own part, he couldn't think of anything to ask ... but this was fascinating, for sure. Quiet for entirely different reasons, Emrys shrank back in his seat just a bit, eyes wide. He had yet to see Arron here ... and that only heightened his nervousness. Monsters and things were ... well ... dangerous. And Emrys wished that he hadn't chosen to sit so close to the front now.

Lior was completely enthralled by this creature, watching those bright orange eyes and grinning a little, before trying to get his mind to hurry to think of a question. "When it comes to... forming bonds, or attaining your talents to work for an Empyrean or otherwise, with Rakshasa, is there a certain ritual that must be done? Or would one just walk up and ask?" he questioned after a moment, stepping a bit closer to get a better look at the stunning creature - was creature even a proper term for something that seemed so intelligent?

It seemed most of the other students were enthralled by the being chained up in the middle of the classroom. Good for Khamsyn. It meant most of them would think back on the class and remember the Rakshasa and not his embarrassing entrance. He started to relax little by little as the moments ticked by and soon, listening to the others and their questions, he pieced together what was going on. Or at least the basics. The chained being was a Rakshasa with some sort of metamorphic talent. Fascinating. As he listened, a question seemingly no one had asked yet came to the forefront of his mind.
"Excuse me, Graphtas wasn't it?" he started, hoping he got the name right as to not offend him. "You might not be willing to answer this question, and that's understandable, but is there some sort of trick to seeing past you and your bretheren's unique gifts? Or is the metamorphosis truly flawless?"
Khamsyn hadn't been in the class when Graphtas had spoken and their vocal difficulties when shifted had been revealed. He was looking for a more outward, physical sign anyways. Such knowledge would prove invaluable indeed.

Cashimer's face lit up and grin crossed over his lips as he noticed Yalitza had slipped into class. "That's her, Lior. The friend I told you about." Smiling and squeezing his lover's hand, he slipped over to the rather shy girl, grin still firmly in place. "Hey there," he said quietly, so as not to interrupt those learning around them. However, it seemed he didn't have to worry about causing such an interuption- a new Empyrean, one he had never seen before, but who was obviously of the Phelgm alignment, as he was. Perhaps also a Journeyman? He couldn't tell for sure. "Good question!" he said with a smile and nod towards the new boy, knowing how painfully shy he had been during his first few classes.

Danna started when a new boy - phlegmatic and very blue came to a screeching halt nearly at her elbow and then proceeded to wipe out and begin stuttering about some swimming and chase of some sort. The speed at which the boy talked and the lack of context left Danna cunfused as to what he was actually talking about. She smiled politely and made room for him against the wall. Meanwhile the students addressed the Rakshasa directly and began asking a series of Questions that would undoubtedly have interesting answers. Danna craned forward a little to better hear the answers. Cyphr couldn't see Khamsyn's entrance from where he stood and instead inched towards the Rakshasa, slowly losing his battle to resist the urge to pet the man. Luckily for all involved Graphtas had turned his attention to the questions at hand and so did not see Cyphr's outstretched arm. Cyphr, in turn, drew his outstretched fingers back as he listened to Graphtas speak.
