Amelia and Nala both turned their heads at the same time. "Hmm, interesting," Amelia said softly with a nod. If Naruto suddenly appearing behind her like that had scared her, she showed no sign of it. Constance chuckled softly at what Merrick said. "Hmm, doesn't seem that way, does it?""Funny how they do that, huh?" Cassandra said softly to Lorcan. It always amused her when someone would be in one place and then suddenly be in another. She knew it took a lot of willpower to do so. "Well how about we go?" Merida said as she pushed her hair from her face.

Kasumi smirked slightly, amused at the idea. "Then why don't we see if you can keep up?" she said with amusement before she abruptly pushed off, leaping from the top of the hill and landing easily a third of the way across the clearing in a single fluid movement before she shifted into a smoothly loping run. Naruto grinned as he flicked his wrist, a broad light gray cloth slipping out of his sleeve into his hand. "A magician would kill for this trick," he said as he flicked it over himself though he knew it would surprise them that the cloth, which should have outlined his form, simply kept falling to the ground as if he'd vanished. He materialized out of the ground behind Kasumi, grinning.

Merrick rolled his eyes at his uncle's antics. "It's kinda messed up that he's 'older than all of us combined', yet he still acts like a kid," he sighed with a shrug as he pushed off and felt the ground cave beneath him as a small landslide rolled down the hill as he somersaulted several times in a curled up ball before uncurling and landing with a trail of dust skidding from under his feet as he stopped several feet shy of his mother and uncle.

Lorcán shrugged. "Hilarious," he deadpanned as he shifted his weight and started jogging after the others.

Amelia chuckled softly and shook her head. "Come Nala," she said softly as she held out her arms. The cat jumped into her arms as the earth shifted around them, opening to swallow them up. Moments later she appeared only several steps ahead of Kasumi and Naruto, no sign of dirt or anything on her. Her appearance was immaculate, as was Nala's. "Well crap, what a bunch of show offs!" Merida said with a good natured laugh as she hurried after the others. She knew that Kasumi and Naruto possessed such powers, but she had never seen Amelia do such a thing. Constance watched the others with a grin. She pulled her hair back into a ponytail, so that it would stay out of her face. The wind picked up around her and ushered her forward towards the others. She came to a stop next to Merrick. "This is fun," she said with a nod. Cassandra chuckled as she followed after the others, keeping up with Lorcan easily. She grinned over at him as they neared the others.Carolyn followed not too far behind them.

Kasumi chuckled as Amelia materialized, not surprised. She's skilled, the demigoddess Kitsune thought. She saw Naruto grin over his shoulder as her brother spun, pushing off into the air before spitting several large blasts of water in the form of 'bullets' at someone behind her.

Merrick chuckled as he started jogging after his mother and uncle as well as Amelia. "Aye, love, it is," he sighed as he jogged along before he crouched lower, unconsciously letting his fingers brush against the ground as he started moving faster. In two or three long strides, he'd shifted from a usual jogging stance to something that looked more animalistic as he used the tips and pads of his fingers to move on all fours. He saw his uncle glance back and grin as Merrick accelerated, a large cloud of dust suddenly kicking up behind him as he moved much faster as he darted to the side, evading first one, then a second watery 'bullet' while barely losing any speed.

Lorcán blinked as Merrick subtly shifted into a stance that looked far more animalistic before he accelerated sharply. He heard wet sounds like large stones hitting the surface of a pond, not sure what it was at first.

Constance watched with surprise as Merrick took off quickly, going from just his two feet to all fours in a burst of speed. She saw the water 'bullets' going towards him and grinned a little. A little bit of fun before training. She shrugged and moved quickly, the wind pushing her forward as she ran, giving her more momentum. "A little bit of play before more training," Amelia said with a chuckle as Nala took off. She felt Merida next to her and chuckled. "Caught up quickly.""Aye," Merida said with a nod as they kept pace next to each other. It still amazed her how easily Amelia moved despite her blindness. She had asked once how the other witch did it, and Amelia simply responded that there were other ways to see other than with your eyes. "It's amazing to see the changes that seem to be happening with those two," Cassandra said as she spoke to Lorcan, referring to Constance and Merrick. Every day, there seemed to be something new the two of them could do.

Kasumi chuckled as she accelerated, easily catching up with Merida and Amelia. "I think I know how you do it without using Nala's eyes. You send subtle pulses of energy out acting like sonar, eh? It's not as uncommon a talent as you'd think, but it is often overlooked for its subtlety," she said with amusement.

Merrick shifted before he pushed off into a somersaulting handspring as the third narrowly missed him as he focused energy into his fingertips and directly sheared through the fourth watery bullet and landed, narrowly evading the fifth and last watery bullet, realizing that his uncle, while having fun, was testing his evasion skills.

Lorcán tilted his head, watching Merrick closely. "I'm fairly sure Merrick's tapping into his instincts to move that quickly and accurately," he said, inhaling sharply as he noticed one of the watery bullets explode suddenly before he noticed Merrick, soaked, landing on the ground as he still moved just as fast.

Amelia chuckled and nodded. "Yes, that would be it." She said with her head tilted to the side slightly. "It is an easy thing to do once you learn it. Some just never realize they can learn it."
Merida listened quietly to the two as she watched Naruto and Merrick. Constance was not far behind them with a grin on her face. Cassandra nodded. "I am sure that he is." She pushed strands of hair from her face as they ran. "I wonder when Constance will do the same."

Kasumi laughed softly. She blinked as she glanced back, seeing Merrick leap up to tackle her brother out of the air before her brother used a simple Kawarimi to replace himself with a log that exploded on impact with Merrick's shoulder. She hid a grin as she shifted her gaze before she pushed off, taking to the branches that were eight feet off the ground in the trees several yards ahead.

Merrick pushed off the ground, leaping suddenly at his still airborne uncle. He felt himself hit fabric before a burst of dust and mist engulfed his vision before he felt wood splinter and explode around him before he landed in a rolling landing, glancing back at the splintered log with slightly widened eyes, the only sign of his surprise.

Lorcán shrugged. "Who knows? If something were to threaten him, perhaps," he said quietly as he noticed Kasumi taking to the trees with a fluidity that was astonishing to see.

Constance watched the two silently and grinned as Naruto suddenly disappeared, replaced by a log. She saw Merrick's eye's widen in surprised and she couldn't help but chuckle. She thought that maybe he would be able to catch his uncle, but she knew Naruto probably had a few tricks up his sleeve to throw Merrick off. Casandra nodded slowly. All the times that Constance seemed to get angry was when Merrick was in any danger. "They are really good for each other." She knew at the rate they were going it wouldn't take long to get to the place they would be training. They were all moving at a remarkable speed. Merida looked up as Kasumi jumped up into the trees. She shook her head a little and grinned as she and Amelia kept going.

Kasumi wasn't surprised when her brother dropped from the trees, easily keeping pace with her. This was where they'd grown up, after all.

Merrick sighed as he landed, stumbling slightly before he accelerated to catch up to Constance and Merida as he'd fallen nearly ten yards behind them. He glanced back at Cassandra, hearing her clearly when she spoke though he heard a faint crack before he was jerked off his feet by a thin wire wrapped in rope and left hanging nearly twenty feet in the air.

Lorcán saw Merrick land and glance back at them before he was suddenly jerked skyward courtesy of a loop trap around one foot. A low snickering laugh escaped him before he realized it.

Constance glanced behind her to see Merrick catching back up with them, and smiled. When he was suddenly jerked up and hung nearly twenty feet in the air she stopped running, her eyes narrowing. She wondered if it was Kasumi or Naruto's doing....or something else. "You alright," she called up to Merrick. Merida had stopped alongside Constance, looking up at Merrick. She couldn't help but grin a little, although she did manage to hold back her laughter which was more than she could say for Lorcan at the moment. She head the snickering that he was doing. Cassandra saw Merrick glance back at them and smiled. She had no doubt that he had heard what she said. When he was jerked into the air and hung upside down she had to smother her laughter. When Lorcan snickered she smacked his arm playfully. "Hey, be nice."

Kasumi tilted her head as her son dropped from the height, mildly surprised.

Merrick exhaled, swaying in the air. "I'm just fine... disoriented a bit, but I've had worse," he sighed as he focused energy into his gauntleted hand and flicked it. A spectral 'blade' flashed into existence, shearing through the rope and wire with little resistance as he pushed off the side of the tree before dropping downward and landing with a boom a few feet from Constance.

Lorcán rolled his eyes. "You have to admit it was kind of funny," he said with amusement. He knew she'd tried to hold back her laughter and could hear it in her voice.

Constance grinned as Merrick landed several feet away from her. "Well I would be too if I were hung upside down." She chuckled as she walked up to him. Cassandra smirked as she looked over at Lorcan. "Okay, so maybe it was." She gave a small shrug of her shoulders. She watched as Merrick landed near Constance, and Constance walked over to him. "Oh that was really funny," Carolyn said with a smirk.

Kasumi frowned at Merrick's low words, fairly sure that those with enhanced senses, basically all of them, could hear him.

Merrick sighed as he loosened the rope from around his calf, wincing slightly as he noticed the barely noticeable barbs almost like razor wire within the rope; they were just poking out of the rope enough to scrape the skin and likely draw enough blood for whatever pale liquid was on them to get into the bloodstream. "Didn't really help that there was some sort of herbal paralytic on the barbs within the rope, likely meant to slow whoever set off the trap," he exhaled in a low annoyed tone. There were reddened marks on his skin where the rope's 'barbs' had torn through his jeans, but nothing more.

Lorcán blinked at Merrick's words, his eyes unconsciously shifting to the Rinnegan and narrowing as he felt his body tense. It was then he realized there were several people hidden in the trees, though he saw nobody at all.

Constance frowned as Merrick spoke. She looked down to where the barbs had gotten him. At least whatever was on the rope didn't seem to have any affect on him yet. She hoped it stayed that way. It was then that she sensed others around them, although she couldn't see them. They were well hidden. "Perhaps we should just continue on?"Cassandra stepped a little closer to Lorcan, looking around. She had seen how he had tensed and knew that something was wrong. Her eyes narrowed as she scanned the trees, not seeing anything but feeling as if they were being watched. "Constance is right. We should keep moving and get to wherever we are going."Merida sighed as she rubbed her eyes. Already things were beginning to happen. She shrugged her shoulders a little and placed her hand on her hips. Nala growled slightly, the hair standing up on her back. Her tail swished back and forth slightly as she stayed close to Amelia.
