I had low fluids during my pregnancy too. I had to stop working (my job is very strenuious, lots of running around and standing ALL day) and within a week my fluid level had doubled. I had to get weekly ultrasounds from December to Feburary, which was kind of a pain, but it was awesome to get to see Kaiya in there so often!

LOL RaiRai, I know what you mean! If it weren't for the tech pointing everything out I would have little to no clue what the heck I am looking at!

I struggle to comprehend which way he's facing and which body part is where. About the only thing they told me last time is he's breach and that his head was low. ('In the valley?' I don't know, the nurse wasn't very helpful!)

Spiral:

I don't have a job. My job is to sit on my lazy butt at my computer all day. So I was confused to why my levels were so low. And I spent a week and a half in bed drinking nothing but water and the occasional cup of tea to ease the caffeine headaches, but it didn't increase!

I get to see him again next Thursday for my next scan and make sure he's growing alright and all that lovely stuff. Anyone know what might happen if my levels don't increase, though? Someone said I'd likely be put in for a C-section? I don't know how true this is and my doctor hasn't said anything of that sort yet.

Congrats Valkyrie!!! heart

Well I had quite a scare at my doctors appt. Wednesday. When my midwife went to find the baby's heartbeat she couldn't. She had a student with her and she even tried! So we had to have an ultrasound done. In the end everything turned out okay. The baby was moving like crazy (legs and arms flailing everywhere) and they found a heartbeat then. I guess my uterus is tilting toward the back making it hard to find the heartbeat with the doppler thing. Susan (the midwife) didn't seem to worried after she found the heartbeat and saw movement but she has me scheduled for another ultrasound June 7th just to make sure. I know when they couldn't find that heartbeat I was scared to death! But thankfully the peanut seems to be okay!

I'm glad it was just a scare Syllandra!!! You must have been so overjoyed after that to see your little monkey flipping around in there smile
I have actually met a few women pregnant around the samw time as us & one of them had the exact same thing happen to her, so I guess at the point of pregnancy where we currently are it's not all that uncommon.
Still scary nontheless!!!

Perhaps bedrest? Or they may admit you to the hospital and try to do what they can to get the levels up again. I'm not sure exactly. At 26 weeks I'm sure they wouldn't want to do a C-section yet.

I was wondering if i was going to have to quit my job as a cashier due to my pregnancy. The most hours i get in one day is 5 hours though of non-stop standing.. but being a cashier, i sometimes have to left heaving things such as big packages of water bottles and help bag. I really hope that i don't have to quit my job because i need to save up for the apartment we've got reserved for us.

I had bed rest for a week and my levels didn't increase at all. I was worried they'd put me into hospital but they didn't. He just said that I needed to come in for another scan (on day one of week 27) and then he's going to see me straight after my scan.

Nervous!

Rai, I had low fluid levels for most of my second pregnancy, and they had me do a ton of ultrasounds then. I didn't do anything too strenuous during that time; I was finishing my undergraduate and spent most of my time at a comp writing papers. Luke came out just fine though, and they never considered any kind of emergency procedure like a c-section. Try not to worry too much; the low fluid levels don't necessarily mean anything bad, as long as your baby's growing normally.

I finally put on some weight! I had my first 'when are you due?' experience the other day, so finally I feel pregnant and not just chubby.

Figure it's time for me to come post too, I wasn't on Gaia the first time around, but it's nice to have a group of people who are going through the same thing!

I agree completely, froggi, especially since my husband and I have decided not to tell any of our family or real-life friends that we're pregnant until the 1st trimester is safely passed.
