Lin wasn't entirely sure about there not being dark or light magic. She had seen dark magic. It had killed many of her kind.

She was going to decline his offer when she heard what he said about the spell he had used on her before they had gone to Starbucks to silence her. That's why she couldn't talk earlier for a short amount of time. And... she didn't feel any different. She didn't feel darker at all. Maybe it was because it was a small spell. It was small enough not to leave a trace of darkness in her. Maybe this spell would be the same. After all, it worked with water, which was nature. It couldn't be completely dark, right?

She took a deep breath and thrust her chin out in defiance. She had that same sparkle in her now-green eyes that she had when she was learning something new. She was going to do this, and she was going to be great at it.

She smirked playfully at Dymetri and held out her hand. "Alright. I'll walk with you. Just don't be surprised if I get so good at this that by the end, I don't even have to hold your hand."

Lin was smiling so brightly! This was incredible! She loved water. Before, she could only dive into and swim in it. Now she was walking on it! She was walking across the ocean!

The wind was whipping her now-completely-unhooked hair around her face. The wind had a slightly salty smell to it. It was the smell of the ocean. All elves would give almost anything to have the experience she was having right now.

She looked up at the sky and sighed softly. "Well, I almost am embarrassed to talk about my history now. I've truly had a blessed life. I grew up in a place just this side of Heaven. My school embraces young minds. It helps not only to make young girls brilliant but also behave like polite, intelligent, proper ladies. The school is the best for young girls."

Her smile grew as she spoke of her home and school. Nothing made her happier. Her eyes actually seemed to glow in the night, casting a soft green light around her face. It was a trait of the elves. When they were extremely happy, their eyes would glow with the light inside them. You couldn't see it during the day, obviously, but at night, it was quite a unique experience to see.

"I have 15 older brothers, 6 older sisters, 2 younger sisters, and 2 younger brothers who are twins."

She laughed softly. "Our family is the typical size of an Elvin family. Since Elves live forever, they tend to have very large families. We also go to school in our city from when we are toddler until we are 10 in human years, which we then transfer to an accredited institution to gain culture and knowledge outside of our home. In our home schooling, we learn of our culture, our history, our enemies, our friends, basically everything about our kind."

"We live in a very large city. We stopped keeping track of the population. The amazing thing is that if you go into the large forest in the East, you won't find our city. It's shielded from wandering eyes with an invisible shield. It only lets friends, family, and people of the light see us. And in the center of our city is our magical spring."

She held up the pendant that was attached to the necklace around her neck. "We all carry a pendant with the water from the spring with us. It will heal nearly any ailment and will also allow us to communicate with whomever we ask it to. Plus, it reminds us of home. We can take a piece of home with us always."

She let the pendant drop back against her breastbone. "I am studying to be a healer for my people. I came to Mystic Fountain High School to learn of Western herbs and medicines to bring back to my people. I want to be able to give them every kind of help I can. I am also skilled in archery. Most of my kind are. With our incredible long-range eye sight and our dead-on accuracy, it is a natural talent of ours. I just happen to add fire to my arrows. Each elf has their own unique powers. Mine includes breathing fire and shape shifting... which I have not even come close to mastering. I attained that power just a few months ago. I am not familiar with it."

"Our... political structure, I guess you could call it, is made up of ruling elders. We do not believe in only one person ruling everyone. We want a collective deciding, a group of minds with different thoughts leading our people. Actually... my father is one of those elders."

A blush graced her cheeks as she looked down. She did not like to mention her father was an elder outside of her home and school because she was afraid it would seem as if she were bragging.

As she was looking down at the water, she saw dolphins swimming around her, playing. They were beautiful. She said softly, "Yeah, not much to complain about. But that IS my history."

((LOL! Seriously, how do they believe you?! Is it a website they check to see if they should cancel or something?))

((In theory there should be no problem as long as your school uses cancellations.com to get the word out to people. Its quite a popular website, so if they post there at all I should be able to. It may be rather fishy though if they track who posted it and it ends up as a superintendent of a school system in northwest Indiana xD))
