Kara making her rounds to see if the children needed anything before heading back into the dining room. She poked her head in long enough to see Celebor there taking a bite to eat.
"Celebor! You're up," she smiled widely, "Did you have a good rest?"

Celebor turned at Kara's voice and smiled at her.
"Hi, Grandma," he said warmly. "Aye, I slept all right ... at least, I feel rested. Dirty, but rested."
He chuckled. "I'm looking forward to a good shower when we get back home."
He looked around a bit, then took a bite of the apple he'd taken. "Where is everyone?" he asked. "What time is it?"

"It is currently past noon," Kara replied, "Lin and Miyu are playing with the other children, the boy and girl whom you and Donovan rescued. The girl... Rosie is less frightened of Miyu, probably because she doesn't look quite human, and Roydon is with Lin. Donovan is making a last set of quick rounds around the ranch, but it shouldn't take him long be back."

"Ah," Celebor smiled. "Then it must be the other children that are in the playroom, the ones that I didn't help rescue."
He took another bite of the apple thoughtfully.
"Is Nako still around somewhere?" he asked. Probably out with Elros somewhere, from what he had been told, but of course that was only if she hadn't left ... though she had promised she wouldn't.

"I think she's outside," Kara murmured, "Probably just enjoying the peace..."
At least as far as she knew Serenity wasn't out doing anything.

Celebor nodded, then grinned.
"Well, my stuff is already packed," he told her, "so are we leaving right away or is there anything else that we have to do? Besides find Donovan and Lin and Miyu, of course."

"Nope, nothing else but to find those three," Kara replied, "Are you still hungry? I could go see if there is anything else for you to eat, unless you want to wait until after the shower you want to take."
She was sure it wasn't that late into the day back home.

"I can wait until after we're home," Celebor smiled, finishing off his apple. "After all, it's a lot easier for us to get food than it is for Uncle Elrohir and Aunt Haradhel. They have to grow or hunt everything themselves, we just have to go to the market."
He brushed his hands off on his pants and stood again. "Should we go find them or wait for them to come in?"

"Wait for them to come in," Kara replied absently, "They should be in soon anyhow... at least I hope so."
She was pretty sure that would be the case.

Just at that moment, Elrohir and Haradhel entered the dining room from the halway, each of them with a basket of vegetables over their arms, fresh from the garden.
"Ah, you're awake," Elrohir grinned at his nephew. "Good. How was your sleep?"
Haradhel took the basket from Elrohir and motioned to Kara. "Would you like to give me a hand preparing these for the cellar?" she asked softly.

Celebor nodded back at his uncle. "It was good," he replied simply. "Restful. Comfortable. Not quite home, of course, but infinitely better than just sleeping on the ground ... and of course, so much better than not sleeping at all."
He chuckled.

Kara nodded, as she made her way over to Haradhel. She was always willing to help, it was something simplier to do.
"Of course," Kara replied.

Haradhel smiled and handed one of the baskets over to Kara. "Thanks," she said gratefully. "It's not a lot of work, just washing and sorting, but it's just easier with a bit of help, even if it's just someone to talk to while I'm doing it."
She led he way into the kitchen and set her basket down on the counter, then put a water basin next to it and filled it with water.

Kara giggled at that, "Talking does make things go faster, it was why once the children were old enough they would help in the kitchen with me. Some just liked it more than others and now I have help."
She stood beside Haradhel and peeked into the basket to see what was collected.

Haradhel smiled. "I'm hoping Arwen will be able to help me when she's a bit bigger," she agreed. "She does try to help out already, but sometimes it's just safer for everyone if she sits and watches, rather than helps. She's better than she used to be, certainly, but still ..."
As she spoke, she pulled several baskets out from beneath the counter.
"Potatoes, carrots, strawberres, beans, naekeurtsl, lettuce, cabbage, peas, radishes," she told Kara, pointing at a different basket as she named each of the vegetables. "Doesn't matter which basket, so don't worry about the order, just as long as they're separated from each other."
She moved the basin of water so that it was between herself and Kara, then picked up on her string of conversation.
"Arwen tries so hard to be good at everything, but sometimes I wonder if she doesn't try a bit too hard. No one knows yet what she's naturally good at, and she knows this, and she just wants to be good at something, anything."
