So, a squad of 5 GKs, normal guys, with, say 1 daemon hammer, gives one wound in combat to a Carnifex, and they have, for example, 2 GKs left from the combat, they would instakill the Fex?

x-InsigNia-x Its so cool, when you pass hammerhand it gives you +1 strength so you get strength 10 daemonhammer. biggrin you dont argue with s10 weapons, be it hammers or railguns... it seems psychic defence is paramount against GK and their plethora of psychic powers... librarians and runepriests will be even more mandatory, as will be the farseers... too bad some armies - tau, necrons, dark eldar amongst them - dont have much of psychic defence... IG will likely take WH inquisitor as a psychic defence now that GK are not available as allies anymore.

Van Evok Jason Kharo Right, I have a question about the GK's special rules. When they cause a wound, does the Justicar take a psychic test, and the whole enemy squad, who is in combat, die, or just one model? lol it works other way - when you inflict an unsaved wound on a multiwound model you take psychic test (one per squad, at ld of justicar, autopassed if you have brotherhood baner), and it inflicts instant death... so unless you fight a squad of multiple wound creatures - eg ogryns or thunderwolf cavalry - it is only useful against characters or monsters. when applied against squad of multiwound models, each wound unsaved inflicts 1 model killed - oh and in any case you ignore armor saves... Wait, doesn´t it work otherway around? I understood that you first roll a test to activate the force weapon rule way before any hits or wounds are resolved and then they´ll be counted as instant death for that phase. <.<
Don´t forget, if you wanna use the force weapon, don´t use psy-power, they can only do one of them in turn. Learned that the hard way.... "Hammer of the Witches" anyone? biggrin Take enought Inquisitors and GK will be begging for mercy. xD Wait, didn´t GW disallowed the alliance-rule on both codexes? :-/Van Evok Jason Kharo So, a squad of 5 GKs, normal guys, with, say 1 daemon hammer, gives one wound in combat to a Carnifex, and they have, for example, 2 GKs left from the combat, they would instakill the Fex? yes unless it has eternal warrior or ward save to make... critters in the synapse range used to have eternal warrior, but im not sure they have it in 5th ed - any bug players out there to confirm? Managed to have a look on a codex. Synapse rule now removes Instinct Behaviour-rule and grants them Fearless, it seems tyranids are the only army that doesn´t have Eternal Warrior rule, atleast I couldn´t spot any characters or gears that might grand it. <.<

ouch! that means all the big bugs suffer the ID from force weapons, add to this plenty of antipersonnel firepower - s6 heavy flamers -often for free-, stormbolters everywhere...

Perhaps, maybe swift and furious push into lines could balance it out. <.< Not the mention covers.... and possible dice rolls... :/
Shadow in the Warp makes psy-test being done with 3D6 in 12" seems like a good offset to avoid the ID-rule being activated.
I got to say, Brain mine + NDhammer - Trygon = Happy Gamer! biggrin

I got to say, Brain mine + NDhammer - Trygon = Happy Gamer! biggrin dice can balance everything, but I gotta say brotherhood banner giving autopassed force weapon tests AND extra attack to the squad is custom made against Eldar or tyranids who rely on tricks with leadership on their psychic defence... and purifiers are ultimate horde killers, they can have 4 free incinerators plus their psychic power that wounds every enemy model in the same combat on 4+ before any blows... poor gaunts... I see your brain mine +ndhammer method on trygons and give you rad grenades + hammerhand + ndemonhammer (S10 vs T5...)
