Kasumi tilted her head as she shifted her weight before driving her hand against the upright column a couple of feet from her. She had created a thin cut that bled on the top of her palm. She wasn't surprised to see veins of lavender-blue light surge along what seemed to be cracks in the column before the stones on the ground began glowing a pale blue as they were revealed to be ruby and amethyst crystals that began glowing a brilliant lavender and indigo respectively before what seemed to be glowing water filled in the ring. The intriguing thing is that the 'water' in question, rather than reflecting the light of the stars above their heads, reflected what seemed to be a stormy sky. "Damn, I was hoping it'd be calmer," Kasumi muttered, referring to the weather in the Elemental Countries.

Merrick tilted his head, watching the pool of glowing 'water'. "Interesting," he said quietly.

Lorcán blinked at Cassandra's words. He leaned closer to Cassandra before he spoke quietly in her ear, his words meant for her alone. "Maybe if we end up having a honeymoon we can spend a month here," he said in a tone barely above a whisper in a mildly teasing tone. Though he didn't say it, he was surprised that Cassandra painted as she hadn't mentioned it before.

Merida had moved around the others and closer to Kasumi as she opened up a portal of sorts. "What's the fun in things being calm," she teased lightly as she looked into the thing that Kasumi had opened. "Very interesting," Constance agreed as she looked at the stuff that looked like glowing water. Cassandra's head tilted to the side slightly and she smiled. "I think that I would like that a lot," she said softly as she looked over at him. She could see the slight hint of surprise in his face. No doubt from finding out that she painted. Nobody else knew that about her, at least she didn't think they did.

Alede OOC - Actually true what Merrick refers to, though it was actually my uncle that had that happen.
Kasumi rolled her eyes as Naruto snickered from behind Amelia. "I was referring to the weather, and frankly, the last thing I want is for someone to leap in there and come out only to get hit by lightning... I've been hit by lightning, and it isn't fun," she said wryly, an edge of faint amusement in her voice.

Merrick cocked his head. "It can't be that bad... though a motorcycle crash is pretty ugly... had a buddy that broke his hip, leg, arm and neck in one," he said quietly as he shrugged, crouching and lightly touching the tip of one finger to the 'water', causing a ripple of silvery white light to spread over the 'pool'.

Lorcán chuckled. "Fortunately this portal pool doesn't have 'Abandon all hope, all ye who enter here' over it," he said with a smile, referring to the poem the Inferno as well as its successors Purgatorio and Paradiso.

Kaosujin Ryu eek....yea my mom was in a motorcycle accident shortly after having me Merida said as she looked over at Kasumi with a grin. Going to new places was always fun for her. She had this odd feeling that something interesting was going to happen at this place. Constance winced slightly at what Merrick said about his friend. She could only imagine the pain the man had been in. She crouched down next to him, staring into the 'water.' It did look a little turbulent where they were going. As if a storm was brewing. Nala looked over her shoulder at Naruto when he snorted. She stared at him for a moment before turning back around and edging toward the pool. Amelia was close behind her. "Struck by lightening," Carolyn said as she followed after Amelia. "Never a good thing."Cassandra laughed softly and nodded. "Yes, a good thing it doesn't say that."

Alede OOC - Trust me, I saw my uncle after the accident, and it wasn't pretty... saw the bike too... what was left of it (totaled and baked, if you get my drift).
Kasumi shrugged, though she wasn't all that surprised when Naruto leaped straight up in the air before dropping headfirst into the pool; she suspected it was fairly obvious that it would seem as if gravity inverted itself upon going into the portal pool. A ripple of brilliant reddish orange energy pulsed from where Naruto entered to the edge of the pool before returning where it sank into the pool, leaving it the same untouched form it had been previously.

Merrick blinked as his uncle leaped into the pool, being surprisingly quiet for being so unpredictable and energetic."I would think that he'd actually be... loud," he said thoughtfully as he shifted his weight so one foot was on the stones at the edge of the portal pool.

Lorcán tilted his head before he stepped up just behind Merrick and Constance, tilting his head downward towards the pool.

"Maybe that's why he was quiet," Merida said as she glanced over at Merrick. "Because we expected him not to be." She shrugged a little and stepped into the portal. Constance chuckled and shook her head. "Come on, let's follow." She stepped closer to the pool, taking a deep breath before stepping in. She didn't know what to expect, but at least Naruto and Merida were there already. Nala bounded forward, leaping past everyone and into the pool. Cassandra stood next to Lorcan, and watched as Merida, Constance and Nala went into the pool. She looked over at Lorcan with a grin. "I can't wait to see what this place is like."

Kasumi sighed as she simply dove into the portal, knowing that once she did so there was roughly a two and a half minute time limit before it dismissed fully and that the portal would be inactive for a full two months following as it recharged. Naruto snickered as Constance and Merida came up out of the portal as he half turned away, not seeing Nala until she'd landed on the back of his head suddenly, taking him down with a comical thump before the blond skidded down a small slope with Nala riding him like a surfboard.

Merrick sighed before he somersaulted into the pool as Merida and Constance seemed to sink into it steadily though not ridiculously fast, experiencing a burst of vertigo before he shot out of the portal into a gusty clearing, landing just outside the ring of stones which were glowing subtly as Kasumi looked amusedly at him.

Lorcán chuckled before he scooped Cassandra up bridal style and leaped into the portal pool. There was a burst of disorienting vertigo before he came up out of the pool, his gaze already scanning around in the low light of the clearing, noticing it was quite breezy.

Constance and Kasumi turned when they heard the thump and saw Naruto sliding the the slope with Nala on top of him. They both began to giggle and then went into full blown laughter. It was quite a comical sight. Constance turned and saw Merrick arrive shortly after that. A smile appeared on her face as she walked over to him. Cassandra laughed softly as she wrapped her arms around Lorcan's neck. Her vision swam for a moment as they passed through the portal and when it cleared she looked around the clearing where they had arrived. "Well that was definitely different."Carolyn looked around slowly as she arrived after everyone else. She wondered what they would be learning here. And how long they would be here. Amelia tsked softly and shook her head. She knew that Nala had done that on purpose. She couldn't help but laugh a little as she felt the breeze go through her hair.

Kasumi inhaled, forcing back the urge to laugh more at her brother. "Even after all this time, you still have that clumsy streak... not to mention the 'dirt' streak," she said with a throaty chuckle at her brother's expense as she saw him lift his head. She snorted and laughed again as she saw the grass 'beard' she saw on his face that would have rivaled Gandalf's from the 'Lord of the Rings' series.

Merrick saw his mother turn away and speak to his uncle before she snorted and started laughing again as he let Constance help him step away from the portal pool. He cocked an eyebrow, glancing back at Carolyn as he wasn't sure what his mother was laughing at.

Lorcán tilted his head as the glowing water began to sink into the ground as he stood there; he was mildly interested in the fact that he didn't sink back into it and back through it. He assumed some portals were one-way while others were both ways. "A bit disorienting, but not much worse than doing a jogo at high speed with Kasumi-chan," he said with amusement.

Kaosujin Ryu gotta run...picking up my man from work Nala jumped off Naruto, giving a little snort that sounded almost like a laugh. She turned and trotted back to Amelia, rubbing against her legs. Amelia smiled as she reached down and ran her hand over Nala's head. Carolyn met Merrick's gaze briefly and smiled a little as she began to walk around. Constance linked her arm with Merrick's as they moved away from the portal. Cassandra chuckled and nodded. "I bet." She looked around the place, just content to be held by Lorcan for the moment.

Kasumi saw Naruto shake his head as if to get the grass off but only succeeded in ending up with a grass beard more like Billy Gibbons.

Merrick tilted his head. "Carolyn... I don't know, seems almost... pleasant. Do you think?" he said quietly to Constance, glancing back again at the elder witch as he noted that they were on a small hill at the edge of a good sized clearing, roughly twice as wide and half again as long as a football field.

Lorcán shifted his weight before he pushed off fluidly and somersaulted, landing near Naruto. "Kinda clumsy, aren't you, 'Billy'?" he said teasingly.

Constance looked from Merrick to Carolyn, and then back to Merrick. She grinned and shrugged a little. "I don't think we were the only ones to get lucky," she said softly in his ear. Merida stretched her arms above her head, shaking her hair back and forth. Even though the sky looked stormy, and it seemed that rain would pelt them at any moment, it was quite pleasant. Cassandra chuckled softly as she followed after Lorcan. She ran her hand lightly through her hair as she hummed softly.

Kasumi glanced back at Carolyn, slightly wiggling her hips playfully though she doubted the others would really notice. Naruto looked up at them, rolling his eyes before his form imploded into smoke, the grass beard falling to the ground with a soft splat as rain started falling. "I replaced myself with a clone right after Nala pounced on me, so not really. You don't live as long as I have without learning to stay aware of your surroundings even in a crowd," he said with amusement.

Merrick smiled faintly, since Constance's words confirmed his own suspicions.

Lorcán cocked an eyebrow as he saw Amelia step close to Constance and Merrick a few feet behind them. "And how 'long' has that been?" he said mildly. "Longer than everyone here combined," was the reply that made him blink.

Carolyn saw the way Kasumi wiggled her hips and she grinned a little. She was rather fond of the other woman. She hadn't been fond of anyone this much in a long time. She brushed her hair from her face and then placed her hand on her hips as she watched Naruto implode into smoke. Constance blinked and shook her head a little when Naruto sort of revealed how old he really was. Much older than all of them combined. Well that was definitely interesting. Nala circled around Amelia's legs and sat down as she looked around at everyone else. Amelia's head tilted to the side slightly as she regarded Naruto and Kasumi. She knew that they were much older than they looked. After all, so was she. "So, where are we going?" Cassandra asked, breaking the silence.

Kasumi tilted her head as Naruto reappeared just behind Amelia with barely a sound. "We're going to be training over there," he said as he lifted one hand and pointed at what looked to be a slightly futuristic city in that it had tall buildings for the most part but obviously had strong Japanese/Chinese roots in appearance roughly six to eight miles ahead and to their left slightly. Shadows were leaping from building to building obviously not having noticed them yet.

Lorcán blinked as Naruto reappeared just a couple of paces behind Amelia and Nala. He was curious as to how he'd done that.
