 ~~ Naomi Kitsui ~~ ✹ ███████████████████████████████████████████████████████████ ✹
Naomi gaped a bit at Flynn's words. He would have flung her? Then again in the scenario Naomi might have impaled him with her claws, so it seemed fair. She was having such a good time it took her a moment to realize how dark her words were. Letting out a small chuckle, Nao looked up at Flynn with a slightly guilty look. "I'm glad I didn't hurt you. You should be careful around me though, at least in the beginning." She explained, wondering if Flynn was a little nervous, even though he was hiding it well. Still he really didn't seem that put off, and Naomi was a bit relieved. Although Flynn definitely seemed determined to continue teasing her. Making another playful angry face, Naomi hopped out of his harms, landing on one foot with both hands up in the air for balance. She stuck the landing, and after a second spun around to face him. Not really sure what to say, Naomi leaned forward and stuck her tongue out at Flynn, making a childish noise. With that she turned and scampered ahead, apparently racing him towards the milk bar. Well she was racing him for about ten steps before slowing down significantly and remembering she was still pretty tired.

Akemari It doesn't look like there's any missions available right now. The ones active are already in progress. sweatdrop We could do the Special Arena though if you want? Flynn nodded. "Yeah, I'll be sure to keep that in mind," he told Naomi when she warned him about being more careful in the future. He was actually having too much fun to worry about other things. Another first in a long time. He lowered his arms as Naomi hopped out of them, the warmth of her legs fading from his skin. He watched her stick her landing before turning and sticking out his tongue at him. "Aren't you supposed to say "Nyan"?" He asked as she turned and scampered off. He laughed to himself as he watched her go. "She's like the polar opposite of you, isn't she?" Flynn asked, talking to nothing more than a memory. He looked down at his watch and double-checked the battery life on it before he followed after her. [[exit to Milk Bar]]

Illlo needed something to clear his head. Out of options, that meant some caffeine--though it should be said that he'd never quite felt this crummy before, what with losing his partner and the trust of his brothers. Into the little diner went the Phoenix with his modest tunic, which failed to cover a good number of scars he'd received from his long career of throwing his body into the refining flames of his will. Of course tea wouldn't do either, so he was left to sulk up on the roof, pouring over the adventures he'd had while here while looking out over the city.

NPC Mira Naigus Inteligence Department Headmaster The monk would step into the depth of his mind, before his personal space would be assaulted by an UFO, apparently in the form of a Canned coffee beverage. A few meters away from him, was a dark skinned woman which was guilty of the UFO's attack. "Glad to have you back."It was all she could say at that moment. Cautious as always. Giving room to Illo to breathe and have him wether accept her or chase her away.

Without looking, Illo was able to pluck the caffeinated can out of the air. Studying it while the woman spoke, he looked quite dumb for a moment, like a caveman with some flint.
"Thanks..." Somewhat reluctant, Illo took the compliment with equal wariness. "You know, not many say that to me." Here he couldn't help but chuckle. "But I really am more of a tea person."

NPC Mira Naigus Intelligence Bureau Headmaster "Sorry about that. Coffee is the only thing I've got. Illo san"While she was usually meticulous with every person, these past days had been really agitated with all the ruckus going on. Many victories and losses for the DMWA, The Intelligence Bureau had been working nonstop practically all week. Illo could even spot some bags starting to form bellow Mira's eyes. "Here, it opens like this."Giving his confusion look, Mirai demonstrated how to open his can, it could sometimes get tricky, but surely he would take the idea of how the opening worked. Given Illo did not chased her away, Mirai gave the next step while standing next to Illo, not necesarily looking eye to eye, rather if possible they would both be facing the view of Death City while discussing. Chuckling upon Illo's remark of how not many people would be glad to have him back she would give the man some credit. "That makes two of us."Lately with the latest events, Mira was tasked with confirmation of the losses. And having to be the one to deliver the news to the many families and homes. It was a no brainer of how she wasn't exactly the most popular person in death city at the moment. but someone had to do it. "It's been a while since we last met here, hasn't it? how long?... 10 years?"Way back when she was still a student, the monastery made one of their visits, more likely to introduce Lord Death the next phoenix. It had been a while since the last visit from the monastery, but she was sure to get a good amount of memories of that time. "Still having issues with the nurses?"With the latest events, and given her position of the Intelligence Bureau, she was expected to keep tabs on all of DMWA's personal at the very least. So it was no surprise she got news regarding Illo's little skirmish with Cynthia, and the on and off relationship he had with Melanie.

"I'm sorry?" Illo didn't remember her before he came to work for the school; and to be honest he hated the pageantry of the monastery, necessary formality or not. "I'm sure you saw me somewhere, but you have to understand if I don't remember the names of everyone who shook my hand back then. The subject of nurses didn't soothe him any better.
"... Not so much anymore." His voice went flat, and he was no longer able to look at the sunset, its beauty a mocking, grating cackle to him now.

NPC Mira Naigus Intelligence Bureau Headmaster "We did met, but It's understandable. You can't just remember every face and keep every name, right?"while she could, for the most part, was because THAT was her discipline and line of work. While Illo's was different. Hearing the voice of the monk flattening like that, she would give him some privacy, as she woudl refrain from staring at him at all. Her eyes would remain on the beautiful city. "So, you've read the memo."Said, referring the one where Melanie's loss was filed. Otherwise, she wouldn't know why Illo was down like this. Despite that, even if he didn't knew, there was a reason she was there, and one of them was to do her job. Which currently and sadly was to be the bearer of bad news. However, selfish as it was, she admired the dedication and discipline of the phoenixes, and so, she wished to find some strength on the Iron Phoenix, one that could help her keep up with this job. As sad as it was, it was necessary.

Illo stayed like that for a moment, almost reverting completely to the catatonia he'd sworn off as weak so many years ago. The breeze blew their scents together: hers of a lavender persuasion and Illo's with more almond.
"Yes, I did," said the monk finally pulling himself together. "... Mira," he said now looking straight at her. "I think I know why they tell us not to get attached at the monastery." Somewhat melancholic, but it captured the way he felt pretty well. The monk dismissed the thought as selfish sloth with a wave of his stone-like hand.
"I'm sorry. You must hear depressing talk like that all the time. ... You look tired. I'm sure your job isn't easy either." Though it wasn't slaying demons and whatever else was considered too powerful for normal DWMA forces there was a certain strength Mira had that Illo could benefit from as well.

NPC Mira Naigus Intelligence Bureau Headmaster "I see..."Clearly he had no need for a condolence, neither did had for her to hear the speech she usually delivers about Melanie taking the mission knowing the risk and how she would be remembered as a hero. All of her words would have no effect on him. Still, it was his strenght, the way he took it, that help her stand on her feet and keep her job going. She had seen the tallest man fall unto his knees when he's told his son, her daughter, wife, or father would never come back. But Illo endured this pain with more wisdom than he could be aware of. "Illo, don't say that"As he would finally address her face to face, she would deem polite to face him at last as well. "What makes us mourn today, gives us strength tomorrow."Said Mira, as she could relate to the loss of someone dear, Sid Sensei among one of them. It was mostly because of that, that she was able to deal with this job with more ease than those who've lost nothing. And now, she could get an idea of what it's like to lose a partner. A weapon and a meister at the roof, grieving over a weapon and a meister that were lost in action. Quite the twist. As he addressed her job wasn't easy either, she would chuckle at the monk. "I know that, but it's because I have you, that I know I can move along."Said Mira, this time, she would be the one to break the eye contact. "What makes us mourn today, gives us strength tomorrow... maybe you've forgotten... but those were your words of wisdom for me back then. And you've no idea how useful the've been to me all this time."Said this last line with a smile. "I'm sure you'll rise again, stronger, wiser. As long as there's a beating in your heart, no matter the tempest. I'm sure you'll fly."

Suddenly Illo was taken back to that day: hot, misty, auspicious cheering and parading through the streets as the Shinigami met the next Iron Phoenix. There was so much love in the air that Illo had forgotten the finite details, but now he was starting to remember. Part of the ceremony was a brief sermon given by the monk, the first and only time he'd spoke in public like that. A student in the front row was brave enough to raise her hand, totally shattering the prescribed order of procession. Illo humored her, much to the dismay of his handlers, and took her question, dispensing perhaps his most memorable line of the sermon.
"... What makes us mourn today..." He repeated it to himself, taking in the air of the moment as something incredibly new.
"Now I'm the ambitious kid in the front," he mused to himself with a smirk. "So, is that why you came? Just to cheer me up? --either way I appreciate it." He corrected himself before he sounded too cocky. This was, after all, one of the nicest things anyone'd ever done for him.

NPC Mira Naigus Intelligence Bureau Headmaster "Well, who am I gonna ask for inspirational shelter when I'm under the verge of my sanity if you're not around?"She teased. After reassuring he had identified her at last. "I was very nervous back then. I lost my first partner. But you brought me back... and now... here I am."She giggled turning back to face the phoenix. "All I know is, tomorrow I'll be here, standing against what fate has to throw at me... but... will you?"

"I'm not sure..." Illo tried not to lose his smile, seeing as it brightened Mira's life so, but there was this nagging uncertainty and lost feeling he could shake. "I want to go back home, complete my journey to the Truth, but..." And here Illo would relate the events of the past couple weeks after learning of Melanie's fate in her mission.
"What should I do?" he asked in earnest, turning to his old wisdom's echo for some inspiration. No, she was more than that. To Illo Mira represented a piece of the future he'd been fighting for this entire time. No doubt she had his file handy.

NPC Mira Naigus Intelligence Bureau Headmaster "All I can advice you is to follow your heart. Sink your mind, put yourself together. It may take you a while. but , once that happens. I'm sure you'll find what it's best for you."Mira said with a smile blooming from her lips as he spotted. Illo, no matter how much the tales of the phoenix ran down from mouth to mouth, Illo was still a human, and as such, needed someone to rely on. To lose a partner was always a hard hit to anyone, and the Iron Phoenix was no exception. "But, I suppose you could always come here if you want to talk. I'll make some space. I'm sure someone can cover up for me a few hours."She reassured as she extended her had towards the phoenix. Either to be greeted by his wings or chased away by his talons, she was there for him.

(that ACS ref. though!) If it had been just his partner that would be one thing, seeing as Illo was set on returning his heart to its sealed state to reach enlightenment, but with his brothers now turning their backs on him--needless to say it was a blow that rocked even the Phoenix.
"Kind of funny, don't you think?" he began feeling somewhat better with Mira's encouragement. "I'm supposed to attain enlightenment. That means not getting too attached to those around me. Now here I am sulking because of some inevitabilities I was told to accept." Illo did end up taking Mira's hand, feeling its warm struggling to break through the rocky exterior of his own, and brought himself to stand. He wasn't as tall as the legends made him out to be, but the way he carried himself made it seem like he was looking down on you regardless of height.
"Is that so? Then maybe you'd like to get some coffee? I'm sorry, but this stuff is really horrible." Finally a chuckle from the Phoenix. "... Or would you like a demonstration?" Clearly he was looking for a way to repay her kindness, but how?
