Is the colour black barred from Hufflepuffs or something? Because somebody in Dueling Club said its just for neutrality and another said it's just for House Elves.

Well, I'd say that a good House Elf color would be Brown. And that Bold black is Puffie, but if it were me running the dueling club, I'd prefer yellow or a yellow-like color. Checkout this thread. As for me and my absence... Well, I remember saying at some point that I wanted to stick around till the last book came out. I didn't do such a good job of sticking around, did I? I think I'd like to become a ghost, if it's alright with you guys... I don't really want to "graduate" because I never really "went" to Hogwarts as a student. But I don't wan't to leave either. I'll come stop in every now and then. And when I get free time I'll offer my help with events and what-not. But you know... I think it would be nice to still have a voice when I walk on the site, maybe not a powerful one like I used to, but one to be listened to and considered. Not that the ghosts are really listened to or considered... Maybe a Headmaster's Portrait would be better... I dunno... I'd like to stay a co-owner of the guild for now, if you all think it's ok. That's why Adonis was created, so the guild wouldn't die from a single person's inactivity. But Pinkie did entrust this thing to me, and I promised to take good care of it and I'm not entirely sure who I would trust most with the guild... I mean, I can think of at least a few people who have been around about as long as I have and some even longer... But I think we all tend to have periods of time when our lives get the better of us and we just can't spare the time to work on the guild for a while. I'd be worried if we didn't. I've actually been sorta avoiding comming online for a few weeks because there's just so much for me to catch up with. And, since I don't think my catching up will do the guild a whole lot of good, I don't think I'm really going to try right now. I know you guys are probably doing a wonderful job without me. If you guys think you really need me, just say so. But for now, I think I'm just going to hang out a little. I miss the guild way more than the work that I usually had to put into the guild... and right now I only have time for one or the other... Anyways, since I bet a lot of you aren't even going to read down this far, I'll stop rambling (how it is that you people can read big ol' Harry Potter books and not a long post is beyond me). But Yeah... I hope I'm not interrupting some important discussion, but if you guys aren't too busy, I'd like to know what you all want, since you've all been keeping this guild together and have more right than I do to decide what to do with an old buffer like me...

Well, I'd like access to the Hogwarts Monthly account so that we won't have to make a new thread. I'd like input on how we're supposed to handle the ghosts thing, and UI'd lik you, KT, to come to this year's Fright Week, if only for a little while. (And actually, I do read entire posts.)

I read entire posts too actually (when I'm not totally distracted by something else that is sweatdrop ).
If you turn into a Headmaster's Portrait then you can't randomly roam around the school to frighten ickle first years like you can if you're a ghost! xp Though now I feel this urge to have a Headmaster's Office in the RP subforum just for that honor...

If she turns into a portrait she can only have one place to post. And we were trying to integrate ghosts in anyhow, since Ruby wanted that honor as well.

Oh, true true, which is why I think it better to become a ghost. I'm just saying though, that maybe we should have a place to honor those who have contributed to the guild and stick their portraits in it. But that can be talked about later.
If KT becomes a ghost she'll have her own special spot in the Hufflepuff Common Room as Hufflepuff Ghost! And... ummm... and well... I dunno, they can do ghosty things... yea I got nothin'. sweatdrop

I insist that you stay around in any fashion that you like. I love Juni's ideas on the ghost thing (more later), but because of everything you've done for this guild and its format you deserve to be immortalized as more than that, perhaps in the Entrance Hall? Anyway would you make a replacement for Hufflepuff Head or will you be stayign as such.
I love Juni's idea on ghosts. We limit one to each house. That member is an honorary member of the guild and will never be removed, but also has an important standing with the guild. Ruby would fit that too, and perhaps Grey?
Since KT is back Angil how do you feel about giving the Captaincy back to Adonis? It just shows taht when people see our guildpage that he's the owner which makes it seem like everyone of the mods has a say in what goes on.
KT: Every since the hiatus and the picker upper I and the other mods have always emphasized how much we want guild voices! Of course with everything you've done you can have your voice. For the most part the current mods have been workign above and beyond to make this guild move forward.

On the colors:
We use brown for ADonis and the graduates
and house-elves use default, but when I became the Elf I started using purple because of the color that was used in the old Pear.
Because of the point deduction rules Puffies have to post in either orange/yellow/ or bolded black. I think Miss_Fawcett is askign that they use orange in the Club.

About Ghosts...
Hmm... I definitely wouldn't mind being a ghost. However I'm pretty sure Grey said something (way back when he was about to become our first graduated student) that he didn't fancy the idea of being dead... Maybe we could do different things for different old members... I mean, Grey definitely made a contribution to the guild, but I would say that his was also fairly different than say to me or Pinkie... or even Angil... He gave the guild more of a Hogwarts-y feel... More of a rp than just a guild for HP nut-ball to congregate in. (helping to organize came second to his character and it stuck with the guild) I would say that his character (being so truly Slytherin, it's as plain as the nose on your face, but not quite so extreme as say, Voldemort) brought more of the magical community into the guild and less of the Harry Potter fandom. I mean, that's why this place is pretty unique...
But then, there are also members who were just really into a certain part of the guild. For example, Survivor_Fanatic and his Harry Potter Survivor games. He became our first Games Keeper. His passion for the games and creating new ones came first and then his Game Keeper duties came second and it was just a natural fit.
I know that there are actually a lot of members who have been very active and had a strong impact on the guild and should be immortalized just as much as me or any of our other mods will not doubt be.
So why not let us pick, or let the members pick. An old popular member could be turned into a ghost, a graduated student, a portrait, a suit of armor, a poltergeist. Whatever best fits the member and his/her contributions. But I don't think it should just be any member who feels like it should be able immortalize themselves. I think it should be something like a petition. A member nominates another member, and x number of "signatures" in agreement make that member immortalized. Preferably with his/her consent. It would be bad if we kill a member and turn him/her into a ghost when they just happened to have spent a semester abroad or just went through a hard time or whatever.
Picture subjects and suits of armors can roam the corridors if they like (well, in the case of the pictures, if there are portraits along the corridors wink think of Vi and the Fat Lady). And there aren't just house ghosts, because then what house would Moaning Myrtle belong to? Is there some fifth house I don't know about? And ghosts don't necisarrily have to be residents of Hogwarts. What about all those ghosts at Nick's death-day party? (that's right, we'll decapitate all the old popular members and create the headless hunt! whee ...just kidding...)
Personally, I have no preference... I suppose if I was a ghost, you could all have fun trying to chase me through the corridor walls... but that sounds like it could get boring... well maybe not for you guys if you get brain damage from hitting your heads on the walls at high velocities... sweatdrop Anyways...just my thoughts...
