HorsesOfTheNight
My research partner and I presented our research at a conference yesterday and we took a first place in our divsion! We were in disbelief when they called us up to get our award and the award ceremony.
congratulations Horses!

The sundews I got from my professor are starting to out grow they're little terrarium and are in need of transplanting soon. D: but WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIND clean 100% Silica?! Or perlite without fertilizer!? crying

Toss in some compost and work that into the soil. Peonies do not like to be moved and if you move/split it, it probably won't flower the following year.

Bought green beans, pinto beans and jolopinos (Sorry for bad spelling) Hoping to plant the last two tonight ^^

Cool! I've never thought of planting beans. Hope they grow well. <3

Ha, I never thought of using egg shells as pots. My catnip survived the winter on the patio and is coming in.

Cute! Try a mom & pop garden centre. In the centre I worked at we had straight sterile perlite.

We got three pre approvals for a mortgage! I'm so excited. I love house hunting. (Plus my friend/roomie/landlord is becoming way too much that I am constantly grumpy.)

I got the job. I'm not an office manager/coordinator. It's pretty awesome and am loving it. I cleaned under the desk and found a mummified shrew. (Picture in my journal.)

I bought a grapefruit the other week. It was delicious. I was really surprised considering it's not really in season, but it smelled so good I bought it. I took the seeds and planted them and one has sprouted! Very exciting.

Today, I'm sick. So, I'm on the computer, enjoy my time. Plus, it's Earth Day, so I'm drinking and using herbs for my body to help me become well. My mother will be bringing me lemons soon for my cold! I hope these nice herbal things help me. mrgreen

Yeah I saw the eggshell thing online, it's really cute.

Now my bell pepper seeds have come up. The serrano are still being stubborn, I might have to replant in a while when it gets warmer.

Oh I don't mind, it not flowering it hasn't flowered in nearly 2 years because its being sandwiched between a boxwood shrub and what I think is the Froebel spirea.

I fear that if it stays between the two any longer the entire root ball will be overtaken by the other two, so if I had to choose which enemy plant I wanted to tear away from the ground I would choose the Froebel, because I don't like it. >( Its in such a horrible spot in the backyard.

I have to bring a little water bottle to my community garden plot and spot-water the peas, because the school district isn't returning calls about when the water will be turned on. Crazy!

My mini rose is still overrunning my window, I really do need to talk to the landlord about finding a ground spot for it. It's far too tall and now it has buds so I can't even trim it any more!

Well, today I haven't done anything except lay around, but yesterday I got back from a camping trip! I took Lily on a four day, three night camping trip at our local lake, and we both had so much fun heart We got so dirty, and I loved watching her run around playing with leaves and sticks and dirt rather than sitting inside watching TV. Best four days I've had in a long time..

What didn't I do today.

I woke up early and snuggled with Bones who had dentistry (with tooth extraction) and a**l gland flush yesterday. He still loves me. Got out of bed at 7:30 which is half hour before I would normally get out of bed for work.

Did an immense amount of laundry. Cleaned the house - floors mopped, bathroom clean, windows washed inside and out.

Had acupuncture. Bought my friend a new pair of jammies since the seams on the ones I got her for her birthday all ripped. Wandered around looking for a place for lunch (slow season so everything is closed/closes early/closed for lunch). Finally got food, wandered home. Finished the cleaning and laundry. Got scared witless from my rambunctious cat.

Watched two episodes of Daily Show so now I'm all caught up. Need to catch up on MLP now. Tomorrow is a big day ahead too so I think I'm going to hit the sack. We have our realtor coming over to discuss what we're going to do house looking wise. I made a list of places that seem okay in our price range today. Nothing really stood out. We're in no rush thankfully.

*yaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnnnnnn* I'm out. ~_~.zZZzzzZZZ

Drove a vehicle for the first time yesterday (I'm 21, I just never bothered getting my license before last month) and am outraged that nobody warned me that cars drive themselves (albeit very slowly) when your foot is off all of the pedals. That was not fun. I gave up after one loop of the parking lot because I didn't feel like I had enough space in front of me to try the very sensitive gas on my grandma's car.

My baby plants at home are doing absolutely nothing and it is boring to watch them do nothing. I started some new seeds but they keep drying out in their tiny pots. Might have to shove em into a ziploc bag today to get them to stay moist.
My mini roses are overreaching their boundaries again, but now they have buds so I can't even bring myself to trim them. Haven't checked on my community garden in days, I hope it is doing ok. May 2nd and still no word on when the water there will be turned on.

Upstairs neighbors have a pretty new cat, my youngest cat seems to despise it. She always hates the cutest nicest cats!

Had acupuncture.

Do you get acupuncture a lot? I've always wanted to try it, but I've never found anyone I trusted when I actually had the money to get it done... How is/was it?

I do actually. I've had acupuncture at physio which really isn't "acupuncture" in the sense that people think of it. (Re: it sucks.) The guy I see now is just a younger white dude with a beard so when I first met him I didn't feel like I'd get an authentic experience because he wasn't an aged old Chinese dude. He's really good though - knows his stuff and he's very non pressure. I've been to a lot of doctors in different fields - chiropractor, holistic nutritionalist, etc, and they've all done the furrowed brow and said that they need to see me again very soon. That's fine, but it gets to be very stressful money wise.

He'll ask me about my diet, my menstrual cycle, how I'm sleeping, how work is going, what I'm eating, what I'm drinking and make suggestions. (I love garlic and eat a lot. I told him I was sleeping really really hot and he told me to lay off the garlic and now I'm not hot when I sleep.)

Actually getting the needles - it hurts. Places like my wrists and my calves are fine. The guy really crams them into my toes. My back is really sensitive so it's hard for him to get me to relax. He'll twist them until I can "feel" them. It feels he's taken a blunt object and is pushing it really hard into me. It goes away in a few minutes. When they hurt, I always feel a lot better afterwards, and he knows that, so he roughs me up in the appointments. >:3

An hour is $80 here.

Hope that helps! <3
