"Don't kick me! I told you, you're going to have to wait until we get to the next town!"
"Oddish?"
"Um, I think it'd be...I think Mauville...All I know is that we're not supposed to go into the desert." Cat shrugged, picking up her Oddish.
"Torchic? Tor-torch-chic torchic?"
"Yes, there's a desert. It's at the end of this route..." she sighed, picking up her Torchic as well. "So you two can just hold on until we get to Mauville. Then we can stop at the Pokemon Center, get you two healed, and eat."

Another hour passed, and Kasiya was beginning to wonder how she could get so lost in such a little town. Finally, she sat down on a bench to give her feet a rest. She let Eevee out of her Pokeball to get some fresh air, and what fresh air it was. Pallet Town was nice, and rather quiet compared to the busy port of Vermilion. She could already feel the start of homesickness setting in - she missed the smell of the sea air.
Eevee''s ears suddenly perked up, and she jumped down off the bench and darted forwards. Kasiya couldn''t even manage a ''Hey!''. She gave chase right away, wondering where Eevee was going in such a hurry.

Pidgy flapped it's hazel and light brown wings, gliding onto Ken backpack. It pulled at the zipper with its small beak. "Hey!" Ken shouted turning his head sideways to get a glimps of what Pidgy was doing. "Pidgy, I know your hungry, but there's no food in there!" The small bird stuffed it's head into the small hole it had managed to open using the zipper and pulled out a rather large peice of paper. "Hey, a map! I totally forgot that was in there." Ken said. "Thanks Pidgy." Pidgy returned to it's original postiton on Ken left shoulder.
((Wow, I didn't know choosing a Town Map as one of my three items would actually work. xD))

Nina and Misdreavus stared in amazement. "Your bird is rather intelligent," Nina commented. She walked closer to Ken and helped him to unfold the map. "We are in a small town whose gym doors will not open..." Her eyes scanned along the map.

((Maps are handy...as Kasiya is finding out now XD ))
Eevee darted along the sidewalk, seemingly knowing where it was headed. Kasiya was barely able to keep its bushy little tail in sight as she followed it. Finally, Eevee stopped, and looked back to see if her trainer had kept up. Kasiya slumped next to her Pokemon, and picked her up. "Please don't do that again," she mumbled, stroking Eevee's soft, shiny fur.
"Ouiii!" Eevee responded. Kasiya looked up at where they had gotten to. A sign post stood just beside her head, and her cheeks flushed as she read it.
"PROFESSOR SAMUEL OAK'S POKEMON LABORATORY"
"Let's go, Eevee," she grumbled through clenched teeth, "and find out what we're doing in this silly little town!"

"Pidgy!" His Pidgy cried out in grattitude.
"We're in Vermillion to be exact. Ah right here!" Ken siad and pointed to a town on the map. "Now let's find the Pokemon Center."

They made it to Mauville City, and Cat healed her two pokemon. She watched as they ate hungrily, as she wasn't hungry at the time.
Hmm...where should we go next...? she was thinking, watching absentmindedly as Torchic discreetly took a few bites of Oddish' food, only to get whacked by a leaf. I don't think they're strong enough to challenge one of the gym leaders, but we should keep travelling. That'll get them more experience...But where to?
"Oddish!!! Odd-odd-oddish ooood!" Oddish squealed, stealing some of Torchic's food.
"Torchic!! Torch-chic!"
"You two, quit fighting...Where do you think we should go?" Cat placed her foot between the two small pokemon, keeping them apart.
"Oddish."
"Torch."
"Oddish!"
"Torchi!!"
"Okay, first we'll go to Kanto for Oddish. Then we'll go to the desert, once I get some Go-goggles. Because I don't like sand in my eyes, okay?" Cat stood up, picking up her two pokemon. She set them on her shoulders, and after returning the food bowls to Nurse Joy. "Oddish, where's Kanto?"
"Oddish, ooodd."
"We have to take a train?" Cat sighed, walking out of the center. She dug around in her pocket, and finally withdrew a Train Ticket. "Luckily, I already have a ticket!"

Vermillion... alright. According to the map's scale, the Pokemon Center is a little more than a mile down the road from here... in the north-northeastern direction. Shall we be off, then...?

"Okay. Let me go get my freind to come along I'm sure she's hungry. Why don't you come with Pidgy and I to get her?" Ken suggested.

Kasiya begin to trudge up the stairs slowly, wondering what she'd say when she got to the door. Eevee playfully jumped up each stair, occaisionally leaping into the flowerbeds that lined the property. Her delightful cries could be heard all through the grounds, and Kasiya couldn't help but feel her mood improve just watching. She hadn't even finished climbing the stairs when she heard the door above her open, and a figure started to descend towards her. It was a man, dressed in a white labcoat and tan trousers. His eyes were wise yet gentle and his slight smile broadened when he saw Kasiya.
"Hello there, glad you could make it!"
"Um, hello," Kasiya replied, feeling a tad shy.
"This playful little gal must be Eevee," he said, picking her up as she tried to run between his legs. She squrimed for all of a second before becoming completely comfortable. "Which means you are Kasiya, correct?"
Kasiya only nodded, and watched him with Eevee. The way he handled her instantly gave away his remarkable expertise on Pokemon, and also his passion.
"Come inside, I promise I won't keep you long," he said, tuning on the spot and going back up the stairs. Kasiya watched him for a moment before remembering he was talking to her. She'd read many books and reports written by Professor Oak, and each one was nothing short of fascinating. She suddenly wished she had her copy of "Pokemon: An Overview" with her so he could autograph it. She hurried up the stairs after him, intent on listening to every word he said.

"Go with you...?" Nina blinked for a second. Misdreavus commented, Nina, I think it's a good idea. We could see more of the land this way and familiarize ourselves with the territory...
"Certainly. I will accompany you."

Cat and her two pokemon sat on the train''s seat, the trainer leaning her head against the window while the two pokemon were having some sort of animated conversation. The blonde''s eyes drooped, as she slowly dropped off to sleep.
"Oddish, oddish odd-odd-ooood." Oddish whispered, grinning slightly.
"Tor-chick. Torchic torch." Torchic whispered in reply, shaking her head.
"Odd..." the grass pokemon sighed, hanging his head.
Torchic rolled her eyes, sitting pointedly on Cat''s lap.

"My friend isn't too far from here still in Vermillion actually." Ken lead the way and after about five minutes of walking he spotted Mitsu. "Hey Mitsu we need to go. Hurry up we found a Pokemon center!" Ken shouted from a distance.
Mitsu let out a sigh. "I'm sorry I couldn't be of much help, but I have to be going." She told the boy. "By the way I'm Mitsu." She chimmed in. She left quickly knowing that Ken could get quite impatient sometimes. After reaching them she was quite surprised to see another girl and her Pokemon.

Soon, Kasiya was seated in Professor Oak's living room with a glass of iced tea and oatmeal cookies. He had just explained to her (between crunches and slurps) that Lt. Surge had contacted him a few days after he had given her the egg and requested that he see her. Kasiya couldn't help but feel her cheeks go a bit red as Professor Oak told her about how Surge thought of her as his own daughter, and that he wanted her career with Pokemon to get off on the right foot.
"And obviously, he wanted you to get a Pokedex too. I have to admit, those things are incredibly handy. I designed them myself, you know."
"Honestly Professor," Kasiya paused to take another cookie, "there's not a lot about you that I don't know. I've read nearly every book you've written and I think they're amazing. There is no one in all the three regions who could top you in your field."
"Thank you, Kasiya, I'm flattered." There was another long pause as Oak crunched his way though another cookie. "Buff I vid fromiff fnof goh keef ooh fong." He stood up, brushing the crumbs off his coat and taking a big drink of iced tea. "Let us get you your Pokedex and then you can be off. There are hundreds of Pokemon in our vast world that await you."

Nina became slightly nervous as she approached Ken's friend. "H...hello... my name is Nina, and this is Misdreavus..." She gestured toward her Pokemon. "We're from Blackthorn City in Johto, and have come to Kanto because--" She stopped in mid sentence. "I'm sorry. I've gone rambling on... what is your name?"
