Having satisfied his hunger Pix felt he should atleast try to be helpful, "We're from underground and we're here to do something!" he said cheerfully.

There are no such things as coincidence.

Andrea blinked at the strange man Pix, staring as he annihilated the loaf of bread. "Ahh..." she blinked again when she realized Evacy had spoken to her. Andrea looked down at the sleeping Kai then to the strange man who had knocked him unconcious, frowning a bit as her eyebrows pulled together: apparently she hadn't liked the sound of 'I didn't want to kill him'. She looked back to Evacy. "He seems to be alright.." she said, using her slender hands as a pillow for Kai. Andrea blinked again then turned to look at Pix. Where on earth did he come from..? she wondered, her deep green eyes looking around at everyone in the room.

Andrea spoke quietly back to Evacy, making sure to keep her voice low so that only she could hear her. "No, he didn't come with us.." she whispered softly as her green eyes watched the strange person called Pix. Andrea lightly blew a piece of her spikey black hair away from her face so she could see more clearly as Kai's head rested on the palms of her hands. "I think he quite literally came out of nowhere.." she murmured to Evacy before looking up at her. "And if you're going to strangle him, I want to help.." she whispered while offering her a bit of a smile.

Andrea listened to what Evacy had to say then blinked, remebering what the man had said earlier. "Oh...he mentioned..something about Tanner earlier.." she murmured quietly as she thought carefully for a moment or so. "He said..'Tanner looked that pale when I first met him..'" Andrea blinked again as she looked at the strange man before turning her gaze back to Evacy. "I think he does know him.." she murmured softly.

Kai opened his eyes, and scratched his hair. Remembering what had just happened, he sprang up and threw his dagger straight at Lucas's head. Lucas caught it by the grip and set it on the windowsill.
"What's going on!" Kai shouted in fury.
"Easy, easy. Don't get mad," Lucas said calmly.
Kai was amazed. He would have to do what the man said, Kai was no match for him. He calmed down.
Lucas sighed. Kai had calmed down for the time being, this was good.
Lucas looked at Kai straight in the eyes. "Okay. My name is Lucas. First of all, I mean no harm, fighting is useless. I've just been told you all came from underground. Explain why you're here."
Kai shifted weight onto the other foot, as he popped his fingers. He did that when he was nervous. "I'm Kai, and I'm leading a team of people that came from underground. Many years ago, when a plague came, a lot of people went there to avoid it and we're basically the first ones to come out, and see what's happened."
So I was right. Lucas was pleased, his guess was correct.
"Your name is Kai?" he said, raising an eyebrow. He had heard that name somewhere before, but he couldn't remember where.
Kai replied, "Yeah... what of it?"
"Nothing..." His voice trailed off for a moment, as he searched his mind trying to remember. "So I guess I could tell you a lot about how things turned out, eh? Well, that will come later. As for why I'm here, I'm looking for some help. Forgive me as I try to explain, my mind tends to wander.
I live in city called Illys, working for one of the government leaders. I'll cut the chase and say right now something bad is happening. We need people to protect our city. As to how this all started, I don't know. You'll have to ask someone that knows more than I. Anyway, I've been sent by my boss to get people to fight these... creatures that are popping up from nowhere and attacking the guards, infiltrating the city. It's not good. They're pretty hard to stop, and we're running out of strong people, basically.
That's why I made you all come inside this house. The night isn't safe. They're everywhere, understand? This town, Yent? Those creatures are the reason it's empty and destroyed."
Kai never expected this. In a quiet voice, he said, "So you want us to come help you fight these creatures?"
Lucas nodded his head and bit his thumbnail anxiously.
It would give them a chance to see more people that lived above, find out what had happened in the aftermath of the plague, and that city would supply them with everything they needed. Maybe someday they could all live there.
Kai turned to the group.
"If you all don't mind, I'd like to help Illys out." He smiled, a complete turnaround from his previous anger.
Lucas sighed in relief, Kai wasn't mad anymore. He still wanted to see what the others thought, though.

Andrea blinked again at Evacy's comment then snickered a little. She turned towards her, giving her a bit of a smile. "Well now..am I the only one going then..?" she asked her as she ran her slender fingers through her dark hair. She had hoped Evacy would come with her, but it didn't seem like she was too enthusiastic about the idea. "You can pretend it's Pix when you're wringing the monster's necks." she joked lightly while tilting her head a bit, giving her a half-smile as some of her hair moved to cover a little of her face.
