Thanks guys.
@Mega: From what I can tell it's not just the old testament, I've had people tell me before that Genesis is boring, and just not the best part to start reading the whole thing.

Let her start with The Gospel, the Old Testament can be intimidating, with all the old rules and customs. She should get to Jesus before she looses interest. I do myself enjoy Genisis but if i were you i would start with Matthew and work your way forward.

Well I have like a basic Bible already, I've had it for like years. The girl that used to be my best friend gave it to me since her family was very religious and her father was a preacher. I've always wanted to read it but never had the omph to do it, and then I did start with it once, in Genesis...got about half way through it and lost interest.

Relalation is WAY interesting, but that's because it describes the end of the wrold as we all know. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are good reads. I like Acts and Romans because it's like history, but i know alot of people don't. Again with my weirdness.

and if you like revelations, you might wanna check out some of the apocryphal texts from the dead sea scrolls - i'd reccommend "the book of enoch". i'd also reccommend the version translated by RH Charles - it is done really well

I saw The Dead Sea scrolls. They came to the US, and my mom and I went to see them. Very cool stuff.
