Gryff frowned. Well, time wasn't his specialty either, but he could use the aid of the ring...

I'll see what I can do, he offered. If you can just alter the flow of magic slightly, I may be able to do something.

Tell me what I need to do.

"Just hold on tight"

Jabir quickly grabbed the gryphon by the chest with his long arms and jumped right into the door, carrying Gryffenc with him

The door just seemed to melt around them and returned to it's original form. On the other side there was an immensively huge space that was actually a hole in reality
It was an odd place to be, since dimentions and shapes didn't make any sense there

"We're lucky it didn't breeched the dimentional wall. There's no telling what could have happened if it did"

Gryffenc almost yelped in surprise at the jabir's sudden actions, but had thankfully kept his tongue firmly in his beak. Once inside, the gryphon smoothed any ruffled fur or feather nonchalantly, and glanced around the place admiringly.

Well, let's hope we never get to discover that, eh? Gryff said light-heartedly, fluffing up slightly for reasons unknown. Lovely place, he thought bitterly to himself, If Silencer and Rex hadn't been trapped, or whatever in here.

Closing his eyes, the gryphon focused, tail ring glowing a weak, pale green glow. He reopened his eyes a moment later and shook his head. Hm.. After you, Jabir.

"Lets"

He was still holding tight to the gryphon, leading them both to the unknown

"It's better if I don't let you go. I can trace the path and look for you at the same time" he said bitterly. Not that he was upset with Gryffenc, but this place made him feel uneasy

He wrapped his tail around the gryphon, letting his arms free to walk on all fours. Not that one could walk in such a place, but the more contact points the easier it was for Jabir to find the source of this problem

No problem. In fact, Gryff couldn't be happier to be let Jabir guide him through the dangerous 'grounds'. The gryphon padded along with the space elemental, sight-seeing a little - it wasn't often he went, or let himself be led through, a void.

Also, there was absolutely no way he would let himself get lost in this unknown world. There was no telling if he could get out of it. And if he did, there was still the question of him being alive to celebrate.

The walk still lasted a while but nothing dangerous happened
Watching the unknown forms changing shapes could be interesting in the beggining, but as they moved on the sight started to get opressive to the eyes, as reality got more and more distorced
But apparently this didn't affected Jabir one bit. He kept his eyes wide open, always looking foward

"We're getting closer" he pointed to an area not very far away, although measurements were of no use in this place
At first sight it seemed exactly like everything around it, odd and out of this world, but looking closer one could see a vague disturbance in the air, like a distorcion in the air

Indeed. Gryff was getting quite a headache watching the dancing formlessness of everything, and had to, after some time, seal his eyes shut. Raptor vision was one of the worst things to have in a place like this. Trusting purely on Jabir's guidance, the gryphon padded confidently forward, until the space elemental spoke.

Opening an eye, Gryff saw too the distortion, and his heart leapt. There! The gryphon made his way in front of Jabir to get a better look and... TWAP! Found himself with a stinging sensation on his beak.

Wowch.

"It's protected" he realized as soon as he saw Gryff getting hit "We can't get any closer without breaking this reality"

He pondered for a bit before asking "Do you think you can do something at this distance?"

Stars danced before Gryffenc's eyes. The gryphon shook his head, dispersing all the cosmic ballerinas from before his eyes, and rubbed his smarting beak. I guess.

Tail ring glowing, Gryff raised a paw and brought it down on the invisible barrier, slashing and ripping it open. Where the barrier was torn, its edges oozed a deep crimson red goop.

Well, that was... sweet. And weird.

-----

Back on the other 'side', Silencer accidentally cut her finger with the paring knife she was using, and winced. "Ouch."

Jabir was a bit allarmed at what Gryffenc just did. If he wasn't careful.....

"Our laws of reality don't apply here. But what do you pretend to do? Not certainly getting us killed" he half hissed

Gryff was rather taken aback by Jabir's reaction to his 'opening' up the barrier. He had, of course, no idea of what he had just done, due to his inexperience with voids and their mostly senseless properties.

What? What did I... Before he could finish his sentence, however, a rush of static ran through his pelt, fluffing them up yet again, before a sickening screech rang through the place as the barrier resealed itself.

Bummer. The gryphon muttered, giving up on trying to smooth down his fuzzied fur and left himself to looking like a fuzzed up little 'teddy'.

Looking back at the source of the screeching noise, Gryff cocked and eyebrow, a look of pure cluelessness on his face. Back to square one.

Jabir quickly mended the opening. Luckly with just a couple of small cuts and not the complete thorn of the barrier. Then they would really be in trouble

"If you had entered you would have broken the only thing that holds the void together and keeps our friends from being lost in time. We cannot get any closer nor touch the convergence"

He looked back at the disturbance. The static didn't afected it

"We have to pull their reality back to ours through it, but without touching or manipulating it physically. You must find the thread of time to do so. I will take care of merging the spaces back into place"

Gryffenc was nothing more than horrified to hear of the disaster he had nearly caused. He would never be able to do enough to repent for his sin if he had stepped into the convergence.

At least he knew what to do now. Leave it to me.

Gryff stationed himself before the barrier, closed his eyes and brought himself to the highest level of subconsciousness. His tail ring too, glowed a different shade and color as it heightened the gryphon's to enable him to delve into the depths of time and sift through the different 'time threads' of past, present, future and the in-between.

Just as it seemed he could not trace out one where Silencer and Rex were in, another wave of static almost pushed him back to consciousness. In his attempt to fight the annoying electrical pest, Gryff reached out and clung to the nearest thread, one which was pulsating in a way stranger, and different, than the rest of Time.

Pulling himself close, Gryffenc took a deep breath, and stumbled back into consciousness. I think I found it, he breathed. What next?
PostPosted: Mon Apr 10, 2006 6:43 pm

"Pull them in and don't worry about anything else. Just bring them back"

Jabir started to focus as well, but in a different way than the gryphon besides him
Closing his eyes he tried to sense the room where they now where, the corners, the details of everything that was supposed to be there. And at the same time he tried to feel the room on the other end of the thread, the room that became lost in time, the things that were a week ago
The merge had to be perfect, the void had to swallow itself and leave them in its edge once this whole thing was finished
He was ready

Right.

Gryff focused on the thread - it wasn't that hard to find once one knew where it was located. Feeling for the pulse, the gryphon reached out and held on to it fast and started to guide it in.
