Sweet! They're doing away with the grid system in Phantom Brave and going for a more free-form movement style! Finally! No more stupid squares! whee

I'm personally liking that myself, but it also presents questions about jumping distances and whatnot.

It's probably going to be like what they did for the most recent Arc the Lad, movement stats create a bubble of movement space and you can move anywhere in that circle. It's still limited but it's better then stupid squares and grids. whee

I'm wondering if they'll do it right and have jumping up a ridge severely affect your movement range and whatnot.

Probably, they haven't done shoddy work yet so I don't expect them to start. 3nodding

We went to Toys R Us. My dad sucks at describing things, so it's not good when he forgets titles..

Dad: There's this oriental-themed game that starts with B.
Me (thinking): Hoo boy..
Toys R Us Guy: Oh, you mean Bujingai?
Me (thinking): How the HELL?

Has anyone played the MMBN games? Are they all worth buying? I've had some friends tell me some good things about the first two, but I haven't heard much about 3 and 4.

The first is good, the second refines what the first does and makes it better. 3 just felt like the samething over again. 4 feels the same except it has one added difference in combat (that I've found so far). Really, if you really like the series, try them, otherwise, it's not really worth the time. The graphics in 4 also suck if you ask me.

The Tourney game, Battchip GP or whatever sucks too. And the GC game? Pure crap.

I thought it was nifty. I really like comboing with the whip... it made a part of me deep down inside feel complete.

*edit* xd I'm seeing double! This is on the bottom of one page, and on top of the next. Alter one, and the other goes too! Behold, the siamise posts!

Suyo: MMBN is really good, at least the first three games are. Solid good fun, with an excellent battle system, large enviorments to roam and explore, and storylines that reel you in over time. Granted, you can play the games in any order you want, but to get the full effect, you might want to start at the beginning.

Four though... eesh. Not that it's a bad game or anything, but it's just more of the same that you're used to, which isn't bad, but the changes they made sent it down. Gone is the day-by-day system that the other three had, and so is the work that Lan has to do. In the other games, there were always a couple puzzles in which Lan had to help out Megaman, but now, I think there's one in the whole game (I've only played through it once, and with all the different branches, I don't really know). I kind of miss the 'human' element, Lan interacting with his friends, family, and rivals to advance the story. Now, it just seems to be about Megaman.

Over all, the games are solid, interesting, and a shot in the arm to boost Blue Bomber's popularity. But stick with the handhelds, I don't really like what I see in the console ports.
