She nudged him softly. "Well so long as you don't start drooling or somthing i think it shouldn't be a problem." She said, giggling a little. "After all looking isn't a crime, and it doesn't hurt. Doens't bother me at all. And if it does get a little bothersome i'll let you know." She said. It honestly didn't bother her the stallion wanted to look at her. After all it wasn't like he could hurt her. And if he liked to look at her then who was she to stop him?

The white stallion smiled, nudged back, and turned his eyes back to the world ahead. "Well it's good to know you don't mind, and I do promise not to drool; very unbecoming, but for now I think I shall look where I'm going. Save me falling over and looking like an idiot, eh?" Definitely not something he wanted to do in front of a girl he rather liked. Oh Gods he was thinking like a lovesick colt. Oh well; so was life and it was probably for the best. If things like this ever got any easier, they might end up being less rewarding when it all came out right and that wasn't a trade he would be willing to make.

Eria smiled and had to laugh softly. "Oh i don't think you could ever look like an idiot." She said, her smile still in place. "Too old to look like an idiot." She nudged his shoulder lightly. She never remembered smiling so much, laughing so much. Being so...happy. Truly happy. Not the ignorent bliss she lived in when she was with Dark....No this was diffrent. This was much, much better.

The blue-eyed Reya smirked at his companion's words. "You think so? Well it's possible I suppose; I was enough of a prat in my youth to use up a lifetime's worth of looking like and idiot." Yes, he liked that idea, one of the advantages of aging he supposed; having made most of your mistakes already and having learned not to repeat them too often.

Now all he had to do was avoid going overboard with enthusiasm when he showed her about his home... but, then again, perhaps it was best jus to be himself and not worry too much. After all; if he hid bits of himself from Eira whatever they ended up sharing would be an incomplete, twisted version of truth. Best just to go with it, so long as it wasn't too idiotic.

She smiled and nodded. "Yes, i do." she blinked. "A prat? you? that is hard to belive." she said. "You don't seem like the kind who would have been. Tho then again it could just be that you've gotten really old." she said, teasing him. She gave a dramatic sigh. "Oh woe is me...i finally find a stallion who understands me and he's an old man." She said, smiling playfully, holding back a laugh.

Morthan gave the Ichsa a look of mock affront and nipped playfully at the ends of her mane. "Bah! Old man indeed; I’ll have you know I’ve more life and vitality in me than most yearlings I'll have you know. When I say prat, I was referring to a relative level of prattieness. Then to now rather than me to another; compared to many I've done very well at avoiding the embarrassing pitfalls in the meadow of life."

Possibly because he'd been so cautious as a young stallion, preferring to approach things slowly rather than throw himself in. Except when it came to mares, apparently. The two he'd really liked rather than just thought wither pretty or fun to be with he'd decided he liked from the off. Still; his lack of reserve in that field seemed to have worked well for him. What was it his eldest, the sanest of his girls, had liked to say? Ah yes; measure in all things, save love. Another lovely phrase that he wished he’d come up with.

She smiled and giggled. "Aww, are you sure? Mabye you've just gone crazy in your old age. hmm? a crazy old man. Yet somehow more handsom then any i have ever seen." she said. "and just cause you avoided them before doesn't mean they won't come back and n** you in the butt."

Morthan snorted and gave his companion a light slap on the backside with his tails. "Crazy old man indeed; I'll have you know I'm perfectly sane and intend to keep avoiding stupidity. I like the handsome bit though," he went on with a smirk, "you can tell me more about that if you like."

Throughout his life he'd gone through phases of opinion on that. Sometimes on state of mind had lasted months, sometimes only a day. He'd never through himself the most handsome. Striking and aesthetic yes but not the best. There again, he'd never considered himself the ugliest thing ever to walk Urin either. Freakish and slightly disturbing had been about as far as he'd ever gone down that path but, after hearing about Cressida's blue-eyed pure white mother, he felt a little less strange. Much as individuality was nice, it was also nice not to be utterly alone. Again with measure in all things.

"It occurs to me to ask," the pale stallion said after a few moments of silence, "do you mind the cold? It's not exactly balmy where I live you see, especially in winter."

Eira smiled and laughed lightly at light slap and grined. Then she blinked. "well that could have been a good question to ask before we headed off now wouldn't it?" She said matter of factly. She shruged. "I used to live where it was fairly warm...But i've traveled all around so...it doesn't bother me at all. Colder is nicer then warmer because when your to cold you just have to curl up, snuggle with somone else, and you can get warmer, but if you to warm there isn't much you can do..." she said

Morthan chuckled and nodded. "Yes, it would have been sensible to ask sooner but luckily it doesn't seem to be an issue. I have to agree with you on preferring cold, though that could just be because I've lived with cold a lot more than heat and I'm more used to it. All you can really do in heat is jump into a river or something and you don't want to be doing that every five minutes, eh? It doesn't often get hot enough to be uncomfortable at home; summers are nice and mild, pleasant rather than sweltering."

He definitely liked the snuggling up to keep warm idea; any reason to be snuggley with a mare as pretty as Eira was a good one so far as he was concerned. ...Did that make him a dirty old man? Well maybe he wasn't quite old enough to count; dirty old man brought images of doddering old wrecks peering lecherously at young mares playing together. Eira being somewhat younger than he wasn't the same thing as that at all so far as he could see.

She nodded. "Yeah..." she said. she glanced back. How long had they been traveling? it seemed like such a long time ago that they had met and set off...Tho she knew it wasn't a terribly long time and it surprised her how at ease, how relaxed and how well she felt she knew this stallion...for no matter how long they had been talking and walking, it paled in comparision to the years one normally took to get to know somone so well. It felt like they could have been friends for years and had she not known better she might have suspected as much...But she knew she had just met him....She glanced back again. "How long have we been walking?"

Morthan gave a brief thoughtful frown, glanced over his shoulder and then gave a shrug. "Not sure," he elaborated. "Maybe a couple of hours?" There had been the occasional pause in talk and there had been a lot of talking too, which was good. Talking to strangers for so long wasn't something he was usually good at but, as he had observed before and probably would again, something between the Ichsa and himself had clicked almost immediately.

"We can look for a place to rest for the night soon if you like," the stallion went on, glancing up at the late afternoon sky. The sun would be setting fairly soon and then he wouldn't be able to see where he was going. Yippee.

"That might be a good idea. Its not really the best idea to be wandering about in the dark...always a risk of getting hurt be it by tripping or somone who is unfriendly." She said. She looked around. "But where would you suggest we stop? I'm not farmillar with this area so..."
PostPosted: Mon Aug 06, 2007 9:37 am

Morthan frowned and looked about at the surrounding countryside thoughtfully. "Me neither," he murmured as he scanned, "but I'm sure we'll find somewhere decent. D'ob's a friendly place by and large from what I've fond, we ought to be alright even if we can't find any shelter. Still, it's nicer to have some bushes or trees about, or so I think." By the looks of it, if they did wasn’t somewhere relatively covered they had two choices.

The stallion blew out a thoughtful breath and glanced from a little copse off to the left situated beside a river and a patch of bushes off to the right that was somewhat closer. "I vote we head to that copse over there," the pale Reya decided with a nod. "That way we're close to water for when we want a drink, plus I don't know what sort of buses those over there are. Might be thorny or something equally nasty."

Eira nodded in agreement.

"Hmm...Well I'm good with whatever you think is best." She said simply. "However..." She glanced about. "I have said i don't know this area at all so don't laugh. But...There wouldn't be a chance of flooding would there?" She asked. As she asked she turned her head away a bit out of embaressmentabout how stupid her question sounded.
