"You see Rosey, when you say 'and Echo like me' you have to understand what that means and why I don't create ones like you, no offense intended. So, no, I wouldn't make an Echo like you, it goes against my ethics." An adjustment of her OODDS. "But make something outside of the pens? You suggest a 'free range' Echo? Well yes actually I would. Though it would more or less probably likely to be tamer than the normal Echo. Perhaps Variant, but obviously one that was hand reared from day one, be it's beginning stage an infant or adult." Jelena raised an eyebrow at her. "Why? Someone asking you to ask me because they're too skittish of big bad Dr. Trevale to throw the request or inquiry my way personally?"

Pushing aside some papers on her desk she took a seat on its top cross legged. Then she proceeded to pull computer, which was actually a over done sophisticated laptop, into her lap, keying in a few things. "No, no wondering. You've peaked my interest a bit. Tell me, what type of variation? Something already in existence, or something new. Don't shut down my crazy ideas now." A warm friendly smile to Rosey. The girl was absolutely adorable in her skittish ways really it was cute.

And Rosey had just sparked that scientific fire in Jelena. Sure, not a traditional myth in the sense, but then neither was Rosey herself. But she watched as the young woman sketched out what she wanted. And Jelena added in her two cents as well. "Sounds and looks almost like a Vulpes zerda mixed with a little markings and looks from a Leptailurus serval."

Then she blinked and pushed her mock glasses up a little, deciding to translate that from science nut to plain English. "That is to say a Fennec Fox and a Serval. And fur color and pattern is easy to control as is size and gender and all that." A slightly starry eyed, whimsical look as the wheels in her head were turning." Another look to Rosey. "So, you're saying you want the good Doctor to bio-engineer this creature for you? If so...go fill out the paper work dear and make sure to put it somewhere where it won't get lost in the mess. I'm sure I can take the time to give you a little companion just as unique as you are."

Jelena nodded as Rosey left and returned her attention to her computer screen which was blinking that she had another message. "What now...can't get anything done when I'm answering messages all day...."



Rennell ran a hand through his hair that he had just brushed throwing it into that usual messy Ren style. Standing in his quarters in the Ingenuity he was going through his morning motions. That involved putting his wings through their motions as well as making sure his eye was functioning correctly.

Of course a sigh of dismay as he realized his MATU was working....but not the cybernetic left eye. It was reacting slow to commands and seemed oddly out of tune. Wasn't picking up sound patterns like it usually did. "Craaaaaaaaap." Whiny as usual when it came to something he didn't want to do. Which of course led to him trudging out of his room.

Even the sight of the one he labeled Rose bud, wasn't helping at the exact moment. He looked like a pouty five year old, with shoulders slumped and that pouting thing going on. "It's not what I got yelled at for, it's what I have to get fixed." A point to his left eye...or what could pass for an eye. One really couldn't tell it was cybernetic unless they were mechanically inclined or looked really hard at Rennell. Ah, the beauty of advanced technology.

"My eye isn't functioning right. Probably from that knock I got to the head yesterday..." Rennell was also rather accident prone. And usually the cause of the said accident. "I'm going to have to get it looked at or something. I mean it's barely picking up the environment sound waves." Yes, he practically always saw sound waves coming off of something, or equalizer bars for sound, out of the one eye. But with a exhale of breath that ruffled his bangs he walked over to Rosey, grabbing her in a hug. "Nice to see you up and about Rose bud." A ruffle of her hair. "Not sleeping in?"

"I was earlier Meta remember? Sure, my MATU upgraded since then but things can't really be changed, so that explains them. And well...you know how my eye is rather...sensative. And I don't have to guts to get it upgraded...was a pain, literally, the first time."

Okay, so in reality, his eye did badly need upgrading and he was just being a baby about it. But he had bad memories from first losing the eye and then getting the cybernetic one put in. Doctor Fein could prove that..."I thought we're not allowed to pet things outside of the tagged Variants."

"Okay then, what's your opinion then. I mean really. Sure I'm not that open to an upgrade but I've learned some things from you Rose bud." A nod as he crossed his arms behind his head and kicked at the floor a moment. Rennell closed his eyes as if thinking.

"Besides I have to think about how a repair would go. And Moira would get on my back about it...I'm sure quite a few others would to. If I upgrade I'll probably erase the problem and get some new software as well installed." He opened his eyes to look at her, the left actually having a smart moment and showing the almost non existent sound of breathing and movement through equalizer bars. "I'm just scared it all."

A scratch at the back of his head with a nervous laugh. "See that's why I ask you these thinks, you make one become a lesser of two evils with great logic behind it." Rennell supposed he would be getting an upgrade...well the very least they could do was let him pick who he wanted to work on him.

He dropped his hands and took to poking at one of the little get engines on the underside of his MATU which were visible on the underside of every 'feather' when looking at him from the front. "Yeah...it was really traumatizing for me at that point. I've never really gotten over it. Pre-op hurt, post-op hurt. Not to mention that adjusting to live where one eye can constantly see sound emissions isn't easy to adapt to."
