Richard opened his eyes slowly, free hand dragging across his face. He felt like he had been hit by a truck. No, two trucks, and somebody’s horse. He glanced down at Crystal, his heart melting a bit. She was still asleep, one hand lightly holding onto his shirt. He smiled faintly. “I would not abandon you, Crystal…” He whispered softly, mostly to himself. He studied her for a moment, pondering. ((Should he wake her up?!))

Richard spoke softly to her then, interrupting the quiet. "Are you feeling better mi'lady?" He asked, moving to sit up. He needed to be doing something, whatever that something was... "Anything you wished to talk of?" He asked.

"I did what anyone would do." He replied. He listened to the second part, slightly concerned. "It's alright..." Richard said softly, patting her back gently. She sounded afraid. Well, until he knew what it was, he couldn't fix whatever bothered her. So the best thing he could think to do was give her something else to do, or think about. He didn't want to bring up her homeland again, he had a feeling that was what had upset her. "Well Crystal...I suppose we should be getting up." At the last few words of this, he remembered he had slept there. His face went red a bit. "I apologize Crystal...I dozed off..." He started to get up.

Richard sat still, looking down at her. His expression was slightly troubled, muscles tensing. "...it'll be okay." He said softly, wishing he had a way to make it so. He'd figure it out soon enough, but first, he had to get her out of this mood. But what to talk about? Richard didn't want to bore her with his knowldege of the races... "I have two nieces," He began, smiling faintly. "Emily is the older one, Rose the younger."

Richard nodded. "Yes. They are the children of my sister. Beautiful little girls, with light brown curls and blue eyes. Perhaps you might meet them someday." He seemed to think about that last statement, then sighed. "I don't care much for their father, but he's a well enough man I suppose. My sister though...she is a wonderful lady. You two would get along, I am sure."

((I'll be back in two hours, probably less. Gotta do some work... stressed *Hates working, ish lazy*))

Richard's smile broadened, forgetting himself for a moment. "They're the only family I have, but they make me happy. I haven't been there in over seven months. Secretly...I count the days." He laughed.

Richard seemed to be thoughtful for a moment, at ease as he looked at her. "I don't see why not. Next time I return there, you are welcome to join me. They wouldn't mind, but my sister might look at me funny." He grew quiet at this, thinking. "I'd take you anywhere Crystal, if I know the way." He said, back to reality again.
