Syla wandered into the clearing, having followed the scent of fire, but she quickly became alert at the sight of the attacker. Growling in anger as she prepared to assist in any means she could.

Kelina landed a short distance away. Even though the wolf was unconscious, she didn't want to get too close to it. "Sooo, what do you think we should do with it?" she asked.

"But if it has the ray-bees..." Lanx started, "Isn't it best just to put it out of it's misery?" If there was one thing the boy understood was animal diseases. He had the belief that it's just best to kill things in such a horrid state of existance.

"I agree," Kelina said. "We shouldn't let it suffer any longer." Rummaging through her bag, she pulled out a poison. "This will work in secods. It will be quick and painless." She injected the stuff into the wolf, and it's labored breathing stopped. "There. Now it can rest in peace." She sighed and sat down by the fire.

Kelina listened to the word Drake had spoken, and tried to memorize it. Being self taught had many disadvantages. She wished she had had a teacher like Gaiatof, but after what had happened with that other sorcerer, she hadn't dared tried to find one. She went over and over the word in her mind, not aning to say it, for obvious reasons, but wanting to be able to if the need ever arose. Outwardly, she was merly staring into the fire, but inwardly, she was intently memorizing the word Drake had spoken.

Kelina looked at him and nodded. "Got it," she said in the same soft tone he had used. She wondered what else they would have to face besides rabid wolves. There really was no telling, but she knew they had to be ready for anything. If nothing else, the incident had put everyone on their toes, at least.

Something finally had clicked in Lanx mind, "Why did the man who killed Gaiatof want the Destruction-shiny-thing?" He asked with a blink. It had taken him this long to register that bit of information.
