^Angel528 Gore Rules ^Angel528 CuddlesRevenge Actually, in earlier times...people thought 'God' was a woman. I guess in some perspective, I could picture God as a woman. But, when I think of 'God,' I don't think of a person...More of a Divine Entity....More of an 'It' then 'He/She' xD A little off topic...but, somewhat relates. i just heard that to be catholic, you have to belive in god, which raised alot of questions for me as one. I don't know a whole lot about being catholic, but just believing in God won't do anything. If you go to the top of a 100-story building and jump off screaming, "I don't believe in gravity!" Will it do you any good? i know what you mean... when i heard the 'belive in god statement' i was like "so you're going to kick me out of the church for not beliving in god? even when ive come so far?" there's a lot of stuff you have to belive in... im not sure i belive everything myself... like how the apostles gave us the bible, and of course belive in god and jesus. i do belive in god, it's just that this religion is so boring and close minded that i sometimes just want to leave it and belive what i want to belive. I hate getting off-topic, but I must respond this anyway, lol. 1st of all, believing in God and Jesus is kind of what Christianity is all about. And, I don't believe in everthing myself. Remember, the bible was written a long long time ago, things they thought might have happened could've been something they couldn't explain, so we ended up misinterpreting it. And, the Bible was translated a shitload of times (there were a lot of words that we never were able to figure out, I believe), so there were probably some errors in translating. So, whenever I hear anything from the Bible I always tell myself "Maybe it happened, maybe it didn't." But I like to believe that it did. And it's boring? It never was supposed to be exciting, lol, I don't think any religion was. I normally don't sing or anything like that during church, but I go there anyway to relax. But the main reason why I'm a Christian is because I can know that I can go somewhere peaceful when I die. Even its a lie, (as long I'm not afraid whenever I'm about to die) thats fine with me. Thats something I wouldn't quit Christianity for even if Church does get boring at times. And not all Christians are close-minded. I myself am starting to get a little into Buddhism (lucid dreaming), and I'm a nature-lover and I believe in most things that science suggests that sometimes makes some of the things said in the Bible seem false (so some could consider me some-what of a pagan). But I always believed that nature has been God's hands, so it doesn't matter which way is right, really. Point is, Christianity isn't supposed to be negative, its not about believing every single in the Bible or whatever, its not about being forced to believe in God and Jesus, but to find peace of mind, comfort (etc etc) through them. And dammit to hell, I always type way more than I mean to. Ugh!

Even if you don't care. I'm not gonna be in this thread anymore. Most of the songs are pretty much covered, and I'm getting bored in here.

Hippie_On_Wheels I'll post about some other songs later, but my favorite song lyrically from their first album is Know. The lyrics are just so awesome. A lot of people think it means something politcal, but I think I'm pretty close to nailing it (even though it can be taken different ways), I'm pretty sure its about the afterlife. So, I'm gonna post a long, witty post about how I got that, read if bored. Quote: I will (never?) feed off the evergreen luster of your heart Not sure, but I think it means I will (not?) listen to what you tell me. Quote: all because we all live in the valley of the walls The valley of the walls is where the alive people are. The place outside of the wall is the afterlife, but we don't know what it is like, because the walls are in the way. Quote: And when they speak we can peek through the windows of their mouth Basically people tell us what they think the afterlife is like. Quote: to see the land of women chant as they fly up to the sun Not sure about this one either, but I guess people tell us that the afterlife is going to be a lot weirder than what we're used to. Quote: Books all say different things Different books (the bible, etc) say different things about the afterlife. Quote: while people flap their yellow wings trying to soar, being a whore of life and almost everything That one confuses me as well. But when they say "yellow wings" I'm pretty sure they mean fake wings. It seems like System refers to dying as flying at times ("Question!" comes to mind). That plays a part in this line, but I'm not sure what...... Quote: Sheep that ran from the herd, may be dead, but nows a bird able to fly, able to die, able to (I have no clue what Serj says after this) I think it means someone crossed the walls and died, and is now "flying". Quote: On the other side, on the other side, the other side. Do you ever try to fly? Do you ever try to fly? Have you ever wanted to die? You ever wanted to die? Something to do with suicide obviously........ Quote: Don't ever try to fly, don't ever try to fly, don't ever try to fly unless you leave your body on the other side When they say "leave your body on the other side", I guess they mean leave your physical body when you die. As for the interpretation of the line, "Don't commit suicide unless you're sure something awaits in the afterlife, otherwise you'll be wasting your life". And there you have it, I'd like for someone else to post their idea on Know, that song interests me...... Quote: See the land of women chant as they fly up to the sun I think i might have got it! (thank you Da Vinci code!) ok, even though the book is fiction and crap, a lot of things said about paganism are true. In paganism, women were considred 'sacred' because they bore life within their womb. "See the land of women chant" might mean a land where women are considred 'sacred.' "As they fly up to the sun." might mean that since women are sacred, they deserve rights into heaven. Or something of that matter. I may be wrong but that lyric stuck to the back of my head for a long time.

Chop suey: I heard this song was about the death of Bon Scott, and suicide (Former singer of AC/DC, he died from chocking on his own vomit when he was drinking and passe out) Quote: Trust in my self righteous suicide Most musicians were alchoholics back then, and did drugs, so basically through all of the drugs alchohol they were in their own self righteous suicides. Originally chop suey was called suicide, but changed to chop suey but really ment chop suey(cide). So Bon scott's drinking was in a way him just plain committing suicide. And I heard Serj and bon were friends before he died. Peephole: Quote: When your stars are baked, And your rivers fly, Do you ever believe you were stuck out in the, Sky, When your castle breaks, And your feet are dry, Do you ever believe you were stuck out in the, Sky, Do you believe, when you're high, That your life is tried, Don't you ever get stuck in the sky, Don't you ever get stuck in the sky, Don't ever get stuck in the sky, when you're high, When your moon is fake, And your mermaids cry, Do you ever believe you were stuck out in the, Sky, When your tunnel fades, And your guide is shy, Do you ever believe you were stuck out in the, Sky, Do you believe, when you're high, That your life is tried, Don't you ever get stuck in the sky, Don't you ever get stuck in the sky, Don't ever get stuck in the sky, when you're high, Don't you ever get stuck in the sky, Don't you ever get stuck in the sky, Don't ever get stuck in the sky, when you're high~ Don't you ever get stuck in the sky, Don't you ever get stuck in the sky, Don't you ever get stuck in the sky, Don't you ever get stuck in the sky, Don't you ever get stuck in the sky, Don't you ever get stuck in the sky, Don't ever get stuck in the sky, when you're high~ It's probably about getting high. The word high was mentioned a few times. When you're high you're probably in the sky meaning you're not paying attention to everything since you're all dizzy and stuff And everything starts going wrong "when your rivers fly and your stars are baked Your moon is fake your mermaids cry" That stuff proably means that everything starts going wrong since mermaids don't cry according to the general image we think of as a mermaid. Your moon being fake might mean that there's something good there but it's fake, like getting high fells good, but that feeling is fake since all of the risks in getting high. So when it says don't ever get stuck in the sky it probably means pay know what's going on around you and probably don't get too high. I don't know if that made sense.

Sugar: I think there was a thread here in this guild saying something about kumbucha mushroom bacteria, and how if it's mixed it cures HIV/ AIDS or something? If it does it's probably talking crazy people, gay people, and death. "The kumbucha mushroom people sitting around all day, none believe you" If someone was crazy they'd be seeing things, and if I remember what it said in that thread gay people would use the kumbucha mushroom bacteria and mix it with sugar. But it's probably talking about all of that in LA since LA is full of gay people so if someone was crazy and or gay they might be imagining kumbucha mushroom people just sitting around all day. "I've killed everyone, I'm away forever but I'm feeling better" Meaning if someone in LA was crazy and imagining mushroom people they'd eventually go mad and just try to kill everyone, then if they did they'd be locked away forever until they're cured meaning they'd be away forever till they're feeling better! "what do I fell what do I say f**k you it all goes away" meaning even if they are better they're probably confused about what to feel and say, thinking that everything goes away in the end if you die. In the music video there was an explosion in the end meaning that in the end everyone dies and your problems go away then.

ok here's what i think Ego Brain is about....
i think its about this kid who gets bullied and made fun of in school and so he brings a gun to school and shoots people or is going to. When it says "man made shame" its talking about how everyone made fun of him "pretend that none of us see the fall" is about how everyone just ignores that signs that he's losing it and they just be mean to him without thinking about the consequences. "as i turned to sand u took me by the hand and declared that love prevails over all" a girl realizes what's going on and creates a (perhaps intimate) relationship with him to show him that there is love and good in the world or maybe to get him to stop what he's doing so he doesn't hurt himself or others. oh and when it talks about him turning to sand and "watch my world dissolve" is like he's losing it...nothing means anything to him anymore.
3nodding there you have it...
