Fiara could only sweat, a tiny bit embarrassed, she was thinking of the past and how she had had to do things in different ways to make up for her flame hand, washing the dishes was a fun chore; the water hadn't gotten cold nor wrinkled up her paw pads and drying was a breeze. Sure she had lit a few dish towels before learning that she just had to use her hand to dry, but that was okay, Xiang had an endless supply of kitchen towels and aprons. Fi giggled as she told Ashe of her trials. "Father kept all my old aprons, he has them in a chest at home. I tell him he's sentimental."
"You're really to sweet Ashe." Fiara took the other girl's paw and moved closer putting their heads together; forehead to forehead. "Right now, you're making me happy, you accept me and my faults without question." She moved off a touch. "How did I get so lucky to have you as my friend?" Fiara's eyes flicked to Ashe's burnt paw, she wanted to say something about sometime times getting hurt happens if we want it to or not, but that it was as much a part of life and relationships as happiness was. She kept silent though unsure how it put it into words, if she didn't think on it so much she said what she was thinking easier. She distracted herself by asking how close to Ashe's house they were but the tell tale sound of the waterfall answered that questions.
"I can't wait to see it," she had an urge to rush ahead, she wanted to see where Ashe called home but she turned back before it came into view. "There's no reason to feel embarrassed, it's okay to be sick, not fun, but its normal to not feel your best sometimes."

Ashe laughed, "We leave kweh mossst of that ssstuff to Kechara and Kohane, they love to kweh cook and clean." A shrug, "But I help out kweh when the guilt getsss to me," Meaning she helped out whenever she could. Damned conscience.
"But sssentimental isss kweh good!' She protested, smiling, "Who doessssn't like to kweh be sssentimental at timesss?"
"Eh...?" The suden pressure of er fried's forehead against her own made her cheeks heat and eyes widen in surprise, "Oh," A smile and a laugh, "Why would I kweh not accept you, Fiara?" She asked raising an eyebrow, "You're you, it doesssn't matter kweh what you look like or your faultsss; you're my friend, what kweh elssse can I asssk for?" She watched as her friend glanced at her paw and sighed; lifting it so they could both examine it, "It was my decisssion, Fiara," she said calmly, "It'sss in the kweh passst ow and all we can do isss move on and kweh live with it." A smile, "Regretting isss for kweh the old people."
A smile, "I can't wait to kweh ssshow it to you," was her response. Tilting her head to the side she shrugged, "But I don't like to kweh ssshow any weaknessss to anybody; it kweh doessn't matter who." Maybe someday that would change, but she'd have to mellow a bit first, and that wasn't likely to happen.

"Father would do it all himself, if I let him, I don't know where he gets the energy. His birthday is coming up soon, if we have a party, I'll be sure to invite you to it~" Fiara was all grins for Ashe, no there wasn't a thing wrong with being sentimental sometimes. "When I get old I don't want to look back and have regrets, I want to fondly remember all the stuff I've done, and all the people I knew, I don't want to forget, so I guess I shouldn't tease father so."
With a smile and a shake of her head Fiara had to agree with Ashe, her words rang true. "Sometimes pain is as much a part of life and friendships as happiness is, both are important." Fiara let her voice carry some strength to it, these were not melancholy words of a doubtful heart but instead simple truths that are shared between very good friends. We continue to learn as we grow."
Fiara giggled, feeling playful, they were close now, and Ashe was feeling better, "Well then, come on!" again hand in hand they went, but Fi let Ashe lead, this was her home after all. "You're not weak Ashe, not at all~" Was spoken softly, though it might of carried over the sound of the waterfall.

Ashe smiled, "That would be kweh lovely; meeting your family would be great!" She laughed and shook her head, wondering why she was even thinking about getting old. Such things were so far off into the distance. "Perhaps, but getting old isss kweh a long time from coming, isssn't kweh it? We have plenty of kweh time to think back and learn kweh thingsss."
Ashe simply nodded at her friends words, she couldn't really add to a statement such as that. How had it gotten so deep again? Oh, yes, she remembered now. "We learn, we kweh laugh, and we don't make the sssame missstakesss kweh again." She added finally, laughing.
A laugh and Ashe looked back at her friend, "I kweh try not to be!" A shake of her head, "But sssometimesss it kweh jussst happensss!" She slowed as she neared the front gate, "Ssso I have to kweh try to prevent it, you know?" She glanced to the side, at the small waterfall near their home. It was a pretty thing, and quite poetic at the moment.

Fi put a paw to her head, "Oh I know, a long long long way off." -Heh- "Anyway, it's just a few days away. I wonder what I should get him?" Her mind wandered a bit thinking on what he had and what she thought he might want.
Fiara laughed with Ashe, "Unless we'll learn something from it." Now she was just being silly, "Or we just can't help it."
"That's okay, I'll catch you if it happens again, I'll catch you and carry you home if that's what is needed." Fiara's attention was on Ashe but it shifted to take in the view of the lovely cottage and waterfall. "So try as hard as you need to and know that I'll be there for you." She glanced back at Ashe, happy and confident a full one-eighty from what she had been when they'd meet again this afternoon "Okay?" She turned and went to give Ashe another hug, Fi had gotten her home safely and even though she said she was feeling better Fiara wanted to keep her promise and get some of the burn plant for her hand, as soon as she could.

Ashe shrugged, "I've never kweh had to deal with a birthday," She admitted, "Father'sss isssn't kweh a year old yet and we've never really ever had a kweh birthday before." She wasn't ashamed to amit something like that, espeially since it was true.
Ashe smiled and shrugged, "There'ss kweh that of coursse." She agreed.
Ashe grinned and shook her head, "Are you kweh sssure you could carry me?" She asked, raising an eyebrow archly. A dismissive shake of her head and a grin, "That'sss kweh sssweet of you, Fiara and know that I'll do the kweh sssame, okay?" She embraced her friend for a moment and held her tight, "Don't get into kweh trouble, okay?" She whispered, smiling, "Not that I kweh expect you to." She released her and took a step back, "I'll sssee you kweh around, Fiara." She said, nodding once and smiling in the darkness.

"But you will come, for sure?" Fi easily snapped out of her thoughts to reconfirm that Ashe would be there. Fi didn't think it at all odd that Ashe's family hadn't had birthdays, as they weren't commonly celebrated, it was only because of their human friend that Fi wanted to do this at all.
Fi laughed and smiled along with Ashe, all of that seemed far away right now, something to remember but not to dwell on.
"If I had to I would find a way." Fi nodded, that's all there was to it. Ashe meant something to her, if she needed Fiara, Fiara would be there, day or night, rain or shine. "I know that Ashe, you taught me that."
"I won't." Fiara hugged her friend until she let go, "Is it, is it okay if I come back?" Fiara didn't really want to go, but it wasn't far to her own home, so she was sure that she could make it tonight and not disturb the rest of Ashe's family by being around so late. "I want to bring you some of the medicine."

Ashe smiled and nodded, "Of courssse," She replied simply, "Jusst kweh tell me when and where and I'll be there."
A laugh and a shake of her head, "I'm ssure you kweh would, wouldn't you?" Another grin, "Alright then, don't let anything happen to yourself though."
She tilted her head to the side curiously, "Huh? Oh, yeah, kweh, sssure, if you want to come back, come back. We'd love to kweh have you." Yellow eyes blinked in surprsie, "Are you sssure you kweh want to do that? It'sss not a kweh big deal. I'm ssure we kweh have sssome medicine or ssomething around here." She scratched at an ear absently, sheepish as to what to do.
"I'll weh sssee you when you come back, Okay, Fiara?" A smile and a hidden yawn. She should go to bed soon.

Fiara told Ashe the details of what she was wanting to do, she had to ask a friend to 'kidnap' her father for a few hours so that she had time to setup the party. "You can bring anyone that you want to. There will be lots of fun stuff and cake."
Fiara smiled gently nodding, "I won't, I have a reason to keep myself safe."
"I want to, I know that it's good medicine, I won't stay late, I don't want to disturb anyone. I know that it was your decision, I just want to do what I can to help." Fiara took one step backwards and then another, "Okay." With an unhappy expression on her maw she flung herself skyward and was off winging her way home.

Her plan was to get the plant and then come straight back but when she got home her father was outside cooking and she couldn't just wing past him without a word. A word became an explanation and also a confession, looking for answers, fatherly advice. Xiang wasn't much help besides being a listening ear, he hadn't said much more than his 'everything will be okay' when Fiara realized that she had been gone for at least an hour, her tone low she left her Da and winged her way back to the falls, medicine clutched in hand, hoping that someone at Ashe's house was still up, she wouldn't knock unless there was a light on, and she would only knock softly.

Ashe listened quietly and nodded every once in a while to show she was listening the her friend speak.
"That'sss very kweh sssweet of you, Fi," She murmured, compromising the weight on her eyes with half-lidding them, "Are you kweh sssure you don't jussst want to go home though? It'sss kweh awfully late here." She sighed as her friend winged away.
She sat as long as she could outside waiting for her friend, but within a few minutes, the prospect of falling asleep on the ground become something that was less prefferable to falling asleep inside the house. She satisfied her guilt with taking a seat right near the window and propping her head up on her arms on the sill to wait.
Eyelids drooped closed and the silken voice of sleep whispered and teased at her, persuading that Fiara would wake her up of she came to her house and a little sleep was good right now. She'd most certainly regret it if something else happened, but the voice was just so...
So she drifted off in darkness as she waited.

Fiara landed just a few yards from Ashe's house and realized her folly at once, Ashe was no where to be seen and the house was still and dark. Fi shook her head disappointed in her own actions, she didn't think that Ashe would be waiting outside or even waiting up, Fi had been gone much longer than she had planned and now it was very very late.
Walking softly, with more care than she would ever take, Fiara made her way up to the house and placed the long flat leaves, wrapped as they were with a binding cord, on the window sill near to the front door. Then she turned and ran from the silent house, making it into the trees before the days emotions, frustration, relief, surprise, worry, want, need, confusion, spilled over as hot tears that blurred her vision as she took to the sky. Wiping her face and making her way home for the second time Fiara realized how tired she truly was and instead of continuing home to face her fathers and maybe her brother's questioning faces she touched down in a thin stand of trees somewhere between her own home and the soda falls. Curling at the base of a large and minty tree she was asleep in just a few minutes, salty tears drying on her face.

To her surprise Ashe was asleep on the other side of the window, propped up like she had wanted to stay alert until Fi had returned. The way she looked there, on the other side of the glass, it tugged at something inside Fiara and though she didn't want to disturb her sleeping friend she felt the need to say something.
Taking the chance that the window wasn't locked, Numa Land was a very safe place after all, she placed her left paw against the frame and pushed, it trundled open just a crack and Fiara slipped the plant inside whispering. "I came back Ashe, I'm sorry I took so long, here's the medicine I promised." Hand on the frame, ready to close it and head home again for the night Fiara couldn't help but delay a moment more just to watch the moonlight and flame flicker shine upon Ashe's form.
(I know you're away on vacation as I type this but after rereading my previous post, I hate it. ^^; so I re did it and I hope it is better, I took some liberties that i hope you don't mind, but either way. you can choose which one you want to respond to when you post.)
