Silver and Em arrived at the wagon and Silver unlatched the door. She signalled Em to be quiet because she didn't immediately see Aisrhan. She didn't want the girl to accidentally attack Emelyn and Pierre like she had attacked her. "Ais? Sweetie?" Silver spotted her on the bed, just where she had left her. She had fallen asleep hugging her doll. Aisrhan's eyes shot open at the mention of her name. She sat up, a hiss escaping her lips. "Hush babe, it's just me." Aisrhan visibly relaxed as she recognized the voice. Silver walked over and picked her up. "Come on, Em, it's okay. She was just sleeping."
Though you could still see well enough outside, the wagon was always darker as the sun set. She was pretty sure the darklings wouldn't need it, but Silver lit a lantern so she and Em could see.

Em nodded to Silver that she understood to keep quiet- and gathered the trailing part of her skirt in her free fist, so they wouldn't drag on the ground as she stepped up into Silver's wagon. Looking around, it seemed like the decor had changed somewhat since the last time she'd been inside, but now wasn't the time to be exchanging pleasantries- there'd be time enough for that later, and she made a mental note to tell Silver how lovely it looked. What was important now was that the infants met one another, and in as calm an environment as possible.
Em walked to the edge of the bed, and placed Pierre as far away from Aisrhan as she could, so as not to frighten one or the other. She didn't sit down herself, just in case it frightened the snake Fortunette, but kept a steady eye on her son, whose spikes had gone high and threatening. He recognized the predator animal in the girl, and even though he didn't seem to be afraid, he kept his spines high, out of instinct. But he didn't hiss or let out his hedgehog-scream- and didn't move a muscle. It would have to be Aisrhan's move.

Silver put Aisrhan back down on the opposite side of the bed as Em put Pierre on the other. She stood next to her though, keeping a watchful eye. Should she decide to attack him, Silver would have to grab her quickly. Aisrhan almost immediately coiled her tail around herself went into a defensive posture. She eyed him warily. After a tense moment however, Aisrhan seemed to realize that Pierre wasn't going to pose a threat. Silver waited a bit, until Aisrhan's mood changed from defensive to curious. She gradually uncoiled her tail and Silver decided to speak before Ais could move forward. She didn't want the girl to get too close in case she changed her attitude towards Pierre, or if the other Fortunette should decide he was actually scared. "Ais, this is Pierre. His mother is my good friend Emelyn." She gestured to Em and Ais followed the movement with her eyes as Silver knew she would. When Aisrhan merely blinked and stuck out her still-forked tongue curiously, Silver whisperd out of the corner of her mouth to Emelyn "It's okay now, I think."

Em didn't take her eyes off her son, but gestured to Silver that she'd heard and understood.
"Alright," she said, still looking at the two Fortunettes, "...Hello Aisrhan. This is Pierre. Pierre, why don't you go meet Ais?"
Pierre, who was the eldest of the toddlers in the caravan, was beginning to understand key words and phrases- but, more than anything, he understood the gesture that she was making with her hands- 'go on'. So he tentatively cralwed forward on the bed, his dark nailed baby hands scratching the cover as he went. He kept his spines up, but didn't seem to be frightened of the little snake girl, and he got right up in front of her.
Em broke her stare for a moment to give a mostly relieved look at Silver.
"Whew. That could have gone badly."

Silver nodded. "Yes, it -" As Pierre got quite close to Aisrhan, she made one of her odd noises, this one sounding somewhat threatening. Silver stopped talking and was instantly prepared to snatch her away from Pierre when the growling hiss dissolved into giggles. Aisrhan reached out her hand and playfully poked Pierre in the nose. Silver blinked and looked at Emelyn. She wasn't sure if it was because she was nervous or relieved, maybe both, but a smile crossed her face and she couldn't help but let out a small laugh.

Putting her arm loosely over Lorelei's shoulder, Shamira observed the woman who seemed to be leader of this caravan. "Which clan do you belong to?" her voice was slightly suspicious, earlier sentiments about them possibly helping the two far from her mind.

Valelldia smiled at Shamira's suspisions, and knew her answer would just fuel them, "We claim no clan dear one." She then turned around a yelled to every member of the wagon, "We are setting camp here for the night. I am inviting these two women to our fire for food and drink. Treat them as one of us, if they accept."
She them smilde at Shamira, "Obviously, you are invited to stay with us for the night."

Shamira nodded absently, thinking over the fact that they did not have a clan - that most likely meant they were outcasts, people who had done wrong in the eyes of the other gypsies. "We'll join you, for tonight."

Lorelei smiled faintly, leaning against Shamira. She held out the pot of salve to Val.
"H-here... thank you..." She met Val's gaze for a moment, then looked down, slightly embarassed. Here was a woman who took them in without knowing their story, who trusted them enough to let them stay the night...
Their luck seemed to be finally looking up!

Val smiled at the two nervous new travelers. They are hiding something, she just had the feeling. Whether it was good or bad, she didn't know but she would find out. She retrieved the salve, "Your welcome, it's not trouble really, we are fairly close to Mulden and will be able to use our talents to get supplies there. Supersticious people pay much for their fortunes read. But I charge whatever I know a person can pay. Time to set up camp." She went to have Flourish and Lily lead the wagon off the road. She untied them and started brushing their coats. She then gave them some grain and allowed them to graze free of reins. They always stayed near.

Lesh made her way back from Varekai, to where val was, taking her arm and pulling her aside gently. "Val...uumm...I'm glad to welcome wanderers into our group for the night...I'm just curious as to, well, the infants...what should we do about them?" She chewed on her lip and pulled her hair up with a piece of cloth, rubbing her neck a bit.

Val thought for a second. Yes, hiding the infants would be hard, especially the more mobile ones who could crawl, slither, and walk. "There was once a time that wouldn't be a worry but the world has changed." She sighed as she looked over to Shy. "I will do a glamour spell over the area, they will only see the infants how they are ready to see them. If they are familiar with the ways of magic and mystery, they will see them as they are. If not..." She trailed off deep in thought. "It should work, keep them occupied for me, I will be in whistle sticks for a while."
She started to head off when a thought dawned on her, "Oh and Shy, keep a hold of these." She handed the old paint covered paintbrushes to Shy. "Don't want them around such magic, it may accidently grow them and it's not time yet."

"I didn't expect that, either..." Em said, responding to Silver's laugh and the expression on her face. The two fortunettes were actually connecting, which was so... unexpected, for such darkling-bound infants.
Pierre had just reached out his downy, brown palms and felt the scaley surface of Aisrhan's tail, when Val's voice resounded that they were setting up camp. Em turned to Silver, silhouetted from the lack of light in the wagon.
"Do you think it's wise to bring the Fortunettes out to camp? If the strangers are joining us to fire, they might be surprised by the darklings. ...Perhaps one of us should go ask Val."

"Something's off." Shamira stated quietly to her companion - the signs were all pointing to it. These people were too secretive for something not to be wrong. However, the fact that she and Lorelei, too, were hiding something stopped her from saying anything. She, herself, was not very well-versed in the ways of magic but her time as an assistant for the local mage had served her well; she was able to feel the magic practically leaking off the caravan. The thought that it might be their magic they were hiding were quickly thrown out - all gypsies had been in contact with magic at some point, and had no problem telling others of their unique talents and experiences. Or at least that was how it had been in her clan.. Shaking her head slightly, she re-focused on her surroundings; it would not do well to be distracted in these strangers' presence.

"Off?" Lorelei squeaked back, eyes widening a bit and darting around as she scooted closer to Shamira. "D-do you think we should stay here?" she whispered, voice trembling with newly reinforced nervousness.
She slipped her arms around Shamira's waist, burying her face against the other woman's shoulder. "I'm so tired."
