Only the lightstone is magical, Gion told Daemon. The glowstone is purely natural, it's just rare and so you're lucky to find one.
He paused. Although ... the elfstones are rare enough as well ...

Though if anyone want to use them for more than just daily use and more for artistic, I would suspect the elfstones would be harder to find for that purpose.
Daemon pointed this out knowing how some races did like their pretty objects.

Gion blinked. Er ... not in that way, he replied, approaching the cave warily. Aelfstan is found in only one place in the entire Four Lands, and its properties leave it ... very sought-after, but very unattainable. For one thing, no elf can touch it until the stone has been shaped - and for another, once an elf touches is, no one else can.

Gion grinned. Perhaps when we return to the castle I can read up on it in the archives for you, he suggested. He stepped into the mouth of the cave and held up the glowstone, and an eerie green glow lit up the cavern.

Gion looked around.
The edges of the cave were quite smooth, and it was almost perfectly round, save of course for the flat ground beneath Gion's bare feet. The ceiling was about ten feet high, and the tunnel about ten feet across. He showed it to Daemon with his mind as he stepped inside.

Hmm.... it looks like water went through it at one point. Unless something else went through it.
It was far too smooth to Daemon.

Daemon tried to recall what he was shown again.
It is! But the only way it would happen naturally is if water was running right through the cave like an underground water source of some kind, but that's unlikely... unless the tube leads somewhere...

Gion grinned. Only one way to find out! he thought optimistically. He started down the tube a bit, showing it all to Daemon as he went.
About a hundred yards in was a sudden drop, and Gion sat at the edge and blinked. Should I try to go around it? he asked Daemon. There's a bit of a ledge, and I can see the other side, it's only about eight feet wide ...

Gion held up the glowstone and looked around.
Not that I can see, he replied. But at least we can be pretty sure there's nothing living in here.
