Anuksu
:: Anuksu looked around again, expecting this nightmare end at any time::

Well... since you asked so nicely. I believe we got off on the wrong foot here... We both need each other. I need my uh... propert, yes property returned to me, and you require my services. You and your kind should know me as a being of my word, so lets set up a deal here... what is it you need me to do?

Much better.

::She said with a bright smile, and a glint of her sparkly eyes. A flick of her finger flicked the glowing ball square down into her hands. And she offered it to Anuksu.

The ball itself shined a bright white and was about the size of the average softball. Lines of gold swirled with the white, and all in all it was beautiful. This was save for the strange object which seemed trapped in the center of the ball. It was rather foggy, and the object didnt rattle it seemed content to simply be, but it was a key. Golden and pure.

The Angel spoke::

You will guard this key, with your un-life, it is by request of a friend that one of the 7 keys is being left here. As your reward, we give the right of land. You may build a home here, and once killed here is where you shall return. This will be your own personal Hell, or Heaven, or whatever you may choose to make of it. Do you understand?

:: Anuksu rolled his eyes, a slight look of dissapointment crossing his face::

I can't believe I'm dropped to the level of gaurd dog!

:: Then Anuksu looked straght at his new "employer ::

Hardly a difficult concept... but the property of mine you hold is quite important to me, and I wish its return.

::Anuksu was met with a silent cold, and yet beautiful stare as she lifted her arm a bit higher, so that it was now in his face...and offered it to him again.::

:: Anuksu seemed to accept this and with a nod he reached out and placed his hand over the ball::

very well holy one, give to me this duty for which you require my services.

::As his hand draped over the ball, her hand slipped from beneath it, leaving it safely in Anuksu's grasp. Gently, she pulled her hand back down to her side and her thumb began idle play with the golden ring she wore.::

There you are. Guard it and you will be reap the benefits--

::And as she said the word benefits, she slightly flicked her wrist returning Anuksu's....pieces, all in tact, all functional. There was no pause, rather she did it as she spoke, all in one fluid motion.::

--of being loyal.

:: A look of absolute joy crossed Anuksu's face for the first time in untold centuries, and he placed the ball in his trechcoat. ::

Finally, I have something to do with eternity. Thank you for your time angel, may we see each other again before the next apocalypse.

And fear no treachery from me, I have better things to do with my time.

:: Anukus turned as if to walk off, but glanced at her over his shoulder with that elitist vampire glare ::

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a lot of work to do.

::At nothing. God doesnt have many voices, and sadly he has entirely too many things to say. Though most will get confused and garbled on the way out, that didnt change the fact that they had to be said.

Anuksu's sarcasm was noted, as was his compliance. And it was time to move on to the next item on her list.

As he turned away, he might hear her make a check on her checklist. As he turned back, he'd only see fading specks of light, and a few white feathers drifting to the ground.::

:: Anuksu looked to the left, then to the right, a look of contempt on his face ::

Well, it isn't the hilton, bit it will have to do. Maybe there's a castle around here or something.

:: With a magical pop, Anuksu's wings formed behind him, the leather surface still leaking of shadow. His fangs parted in a grin as he began to lift off of the ground ::

Time to survey my new empire.

"Rise, my children, and embrace the world you have been brought back into."

After the raid on Latent and the several live and dead subjects brought back from it, the dracolich had been hard at work, along with his most trusted and skilled associates, conducting experiments on the humans in the crypts deep below the city. Out of twenty-three subjects, four survived to become reborn as the final results of the experiments. Four organic incubation sacks hung from the ceiling of the stone dungeon room that had been serving as the laboratory. Blood was spattered over the entire room, and there were several examination tables with bloody remains of what could only be assumed was once a human body. The four that remained incubated in their organic sacks, pulsing and glowing with a soft, red-violet light, were all that remained of the captured humans of Latent.

At his command, the sacks began to writhe with activity. Clawed hands tore through the membranous sacks, ripping the thin walls and spillling a slimy substance over the floor below them. Four tall, gangly, human-like creatures dropped from the sacks, landing on clawed feet with a wet slap. Eyes glowing red in the darkness, they looked upon their creator, the dracolich in human form, quiet and still as they awaited his command. These creatures had no name, as they were just newly created. They were not alive, but neither were they dead or even undead. They were without gender. They simply existed. The dracolich had a name for them however. It was a name fitting their nature, for that is what they had been created for, among other things.

"Soul Reavers."

He stood as he had stood for aeons, his soft grey eyes staring out at a world he had accepted and understood for all of time. He had seen the fall of his beloved brother Lucifer, had seen his rise among the sheep below and had admired him from afar, through the doors he was sworn to guard. He felt the love for God that had always been there wane, twisted with the taint of forcing the Sinners back into hell with his fellow Guardians. Each day he grew more and more disturbed and yet never felt the twisting taint of insanity growing in his mind like a tumor until he finally snapped and began his rampage across the sky, a hurtling star through the sky as he slaughtered countless Angels and Good humans alike. One did not become the middle guard, the guard who sees and holds all of hell back, by being weak and this was good, for his task required strength. Only by the will of God was he stopped, his title and his wings stripped from him. One can not send to hell, one can not judge rightly what has never lived, and this Angel of Despair was no exception, and thus was his judgement. He came as a streaking fireball, crashing to Earth in a smoking crater, and all was silent for a time. The suns first peek came over the mountains of the north before he began to awaken, his once brilliant robes ripped and torn, the stubs of his wings bleeding freely and his now mortal body bent and bruised. He was not truly mortal though, as he possessed of Never ending youth, not immortallity persay but the ability to live forever unless delt a killing blow. His long hair hung down to his waist, silver and shining and his eyes opened slowly as his lungs took their first gasping breath of air. Peircing into the ground near him was his sword Harbinger, a Massive blade nearly 4 feet in length, the Entire sword made in the shape of a cross of Silver with a black streak running up the middle of the actual blade. Muscles rippled across a body that was still surrounded by a soft glow that seemed to come from around his body, not within it. His mouth opened slowly as he began to scream from the sudden shock of pain, of mental overload as he felt everything that a human babe would experience and more. His eyes felt burned by the suns brilliance, his skin felt as if it was being ripped from him by the cold wind as it blew over his flesh in a gentle moan. The ground beneath his back felt unbearably rough. His back arched against the pain and the ground as it actually struck home through the screaming, his fingers clawing and digging furrows in the ground. Nathaniels' head dug a small dent into the loose dirt as it was pushed down into it, his hair catching and holding some of the particles as his scream died out and the tears began to course down his cheeks, his eyes wide and unblinking as he slowly curled into a fetal position. Shaking limbs came in close to his body as his head twitched and his breath came in hitching sobs as his mind raced with thoughts and feelings, and above all a sense of abandonement. Where was Gods' love? His acceptance? It was all missing and it felt as if something else were missing as well, like someone had ripping a hole in him. The wind ceased it's incessant blowing for amoment, and he praised Him for that for but a breif moment before it began again. The Fallen One rolled onto his side, screaming again with the pain as dirt was crushed beneath him. His limbs unfolded as Nathaniel tried to claw his way out of the crater his impact had made, fingers digging into the soft Earth futiely and only coming back raw and the nails ragged. This didn't even occur to him, as all he knew was the blinding pain and the need to get away from it. Eventually, his new body gave out and could do now more, the dirt piled up around his arms as he lay his head down in the dirt and sobbed. Dirt and tears stained the perfect face of the Fallen One, for even he was still loved by God and still an angel. He was lucky though for where he landed, a stony, desolate place in a small valley in the mountains, and the fact that no one was traveling nearby. In his present state, there was nothing he could do if they decided to kill him. Nathaniel could feel the pull of Harbinger, feel it in his soul as it was just as much a part of him as he was of it, and he desperately wanted to reach it. His muscles twitched and convulsed as he seemed to mentally struggle for his body and yet he never moved an inch. Not far off, a small, bright yellow bird alit upon a tree branch to watch the spectacle before flitting down to land upon the sword hilt. There was a soft pop before the bird lit aflame and fell to the ground, unrecognizable as a bird, or anything else for that matter. He felt the sword kill and a grim smile crossed over his face, suspecting that someone had tried to steal his beloved blade and learned the price for such an attempt. Yes, Nathaniel reveled in the deaths of those touched by his sword, reveled in them the way some humans seemed to revel in that inescapeable sin of lust, and it was for this, among other, reasons that he had been banished from the light and love of God. Did he know this? No, this information had been withheld from him. Did he know who he was, what he was? No, but he knew he wanted his sword more than he wanted away from the cold wind, the rough dirt and the overly bright sunlight. His golden aura never flickered from around him, but seemed to take on a quality more akin to flames than to a light like the sun, dancing and twisting around him while still seeming to come from something just on the outside of his skin. And it was for three days that he lay there, and it was that every day he tried to escape the half circle of the ground he had made with his fall. Not till the third day did he escape his prison and begin the slow, gruiling climb towards Harbinger, feeling his own strength grow the closer he got to the magnificent blade. And reach it he did, amid a torrential downpour of hail and rain as one raw and bleeding hand gripped the hilt. There was a palpable snap of power, a wave of energy bursting from him as he stood up slowly but with growing ability and strength as he drug air in through his teeth before roaring at the sky in anger, the sword flying out of the ground as he thrust it into the sky, lightning jumping from the sky to the blade and into his body, not harming him but encasing him in a bright glow, making his body halo flare into a inferno around him. His head tilted back as the Earth shook with his rage, birds fleeing from his presence and other small woodland creatures fleeing off as the sky darkened further, rain and hail still pelting down upon his form and shattering into nothingness. ::It was about then that the tearing echoed out. It was less the sound of paper being torn in twain, but rather more the familiar sound of flesh being rend from bone. This was accompanied by the backdrop cries of countless voices, begging, screaming, laughing...crying.

It only lasted for a moment, as at the base of crater came into view a small black tear in existance, it seemed to be a black hole in the center of the crater and from it began to rise a form. It was as hidden as it was obvious.

It seemed at first glance to be a man...but normal mortals do not possess such boisterous entries. This man, rose from the hole as if pushed up through it by some unseen force, allowing him to keep his pose as he simple rose up out of the ground. He wore a jet black fedora, something you might see a detective in the 1940's wear. The fedora was laced with a crimson ribbon, and seemed to have a holes in it for two suprisingly small horns. The horns were black with red stained tips and came up just barely over the brim of the hat.

The hat itself was pushed forward a bit and down, this covered the top half of the mans face, and yet allowed one to see the clear grin on the lower half. His skin was pale, causing a stark contrast against his black and crimson hair. It wasnt that his hair was styled, or died, but the random nature of the blood red streaks would leave one to believe that the color had simply caked on over many many years.

He wore a black suit with a black dress shirt beneath it, and a crimson tie. Whilst one of his hands gently pulled his hat down, the other rested just behind his back and out of view. His black panted legs stood directly beside each other, with his heels just barely touching. As his black loafers came into view the black hole shrunk closing beneath him, and reducing the screams to barely a whisper, and then nothingness.

This...man, this person, was not one to be late to anything. And this was more than just a normal anything, this was the fall of an angel. And yet still, not just any angel. Nathaniel Graves...Guardian of the "Darker" Grave, as some had come to call it.

The man spoke. And as he opened his mouth, black embers could be seen fluttering out from betwix his lips. They were accompanied by an eerie flame red light, which poured from deep within his mouth giving a slight hiss to his voice. Though the hiss accentuated by fork of his tongue. Strangely, it was a...kind voice, it spoke in a most friendly, and almost trustworthy tone. Perhaps the most trustworthy tone Nathaniel had been gifted with hearing since he last heard God's voice.::

Oh, how the mighty have indeed fallen. You saw things in a different way than He, and He could have none of that. And so He cast you down...tch..tch..tch...

::He shook his head just gently, just enough to be seen, but not enough to show his face, then he continued.::

...Thats not fair at all is it Nathaniel? After all those many years of doubtless...loyal...faithful service....dont you feel you deserve...better?
PostPosted: Thu Apr 06, 2006 6:58 pm

Nathaniel turned slowly towards this new being, one he was sure he should know and one he was already positive he hated. "Speak no more demon, for I would hear no more of your lies." He said, his voice making the ground shake alittle. How much power had he gained just from picking up Harbinger? His eyes glowed a slight Gold, just around the rims. The rest of his aura seemed to have disappeared, or atleast sunk away for awhile. Harbinger remained in his right hand, an energy orb of light." Or speak now so that I might judge thee before removing your head."

Lies...judging...

::The man stepped forward. Not a hint of fear on his voice or on his face. He did however smile as he spoke again. It wasnt a threatening smiled but a truly friendly one.::

I've done the first, many times, and have been victim of the second...as have you...

::He took another step, followed by another, bringing him well within Nathaniels sword range, and yet, he wasnt trying to be a threat. He didnt raise a fist, or draw a weapon. He didnt slash or attack, he didnt even flare a demonic aura.::

One would think, after having been victim of such unfair childish "judging" by your very father one would be tired of His mantle...but I understand...old habits die hard...Still, we need not be enemies...we are, after all...brothers.

::He stepped forward again gently lifting his hands to show he was quite unarmed. Infact he even took the initiative to tug his sleaves slightly so Nathaniel could clearly see how empty his sleaves were.::

Would you swing really on your brother? Or would you give him the honor of simply borrowing your ear for a moment.

::Each word glided into the next, his tongue slipped across verbage like butter slipping across toast. And as brazen as it was, he stepped forward yet again.::
PostPosted: Fri Apr 07, 2006 9:30 am

" You are not my brother." He said coldly, almost seeming to drop the tempature around him as the glow faded from his eyes as well. " And you have yet to give me a reason as to why I should listen to you, or even to refrain from killing you where you stand." Nathaniel snarled the last part, taking a step back to compensate for the many the other had taken forward. " Your words flow to easily for my tastes." He said with a slight lifting of his upper lip in a dog like expression of anger.

The look faded swiftly though, going back to that same careful, cold nuetrality that Nathaniel was best recognized for. His body seemed to relax aswell as his eyes quickly took survey of his 'brother', " And how do you even know of my fall?" He asked in a rather bored voice, glancing around himself before back at the Demon. " Surely I did not make that much of a spectacle....?" he asked, his voice trailing off to rise into a questioning tone.
